Im pretty sure 'atwhatcost', that the new covenant as pronounced by Jesus Christ would take precedent over everything.
You are free beloved. Free.

All your sins have been forgiven; past present and future.
Believe and be set free, and delight in our Lord Jesus Christ. He came to save you.
Because Jesus gave His life for you, there is now no condemnation. It just does not exist anymore.

"This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

Hallelujah!

So sad..... men & women in here saying that women should be silent in the church will argue with those that disagree wit 'em, yet don't have the righteous indignation to rebuke a single woman teaching for or against the topic.

You'd think if that they believed this that strongly they would grow a spine & do it.....

Now, tell me again what you believe without the fruits to back it up?

"Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." - 1 Corinthians 14:34-35.

There are a lot of women who preach and no one bats an eye. Except some strict denominations

Are you Amish?

If he was Amish, I'd doubt he'd be posting online :p
Ha ha ha. Good one! However, there are Amish experiencing Rumspringa. They would explore technical stuff like computers, cars, experience out there but then they can decide if they want to go back to being Amish or stay in the English world as they call it.

This subject is quite controversial in many churches and among Christians regarding if women are to speak. First of all, if you read the scripture, it did say about husbands. It did not say about single women. Well, let's put this aside and look at other scriptures I want to share.

Matthew chapter 28:1-9

1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

Which gender was first to proclaim Jesus's alive in the start of the Church Age? Think about that.

Now the verse Paul wrote was perhaps he have seen or heard from the leaders from that church regarding to the women. Please remember Paul wrote letters to all the churches he had visited or perhaps when pastors and leaders asked Paul regarding issues. You need to remember what the scripture say who is higher than pastors. It is Apostles. Well, Paul needed to explain what churches need to do when there was issues. I am sure Paul wrote to that church because perhaps the women there were quite dominating in that church.

Let me tell you why Paul wrote this and I believe I understand from reading the Bible and from life experience. You need to experience to understand. It goes way back to Adam and Eve. Adam listened to Eve instead of being strong to tell her no and not to eat that fruit. Adam was weak like Superman would see Krytonite. There are men out there weak and not strong to resist temptations, not resisting women. You have to read the entire chapter to understand where those verses. That is another thing you have to read in its entirely. For example, you all know what John 3:16 is. Right? But you have to read the entire chapter why that verse 16 is important. You need to be born-again. That is what God wants you to do in order for salvation.

Ok, I am going to review this chapter for those verse and why..

OK! I read it and you all need to read the entire chapter! Important because you could have them out of context! It is like saying this..

In full context: "The teenage boy is going to the store to buy some milk but also he bought a comic book to read because he found it was so interested to him and his mommy was mad that he bought the comic book."

Out of context: "His mommy was mad that he bought the comic book." This issue missed out the whole concept if you only say that line.

Now, the chapter was talking about speaking in tongues. It did not say about preaching or teaching or whatsoever. Pastors and church planters need to be very careful on using the scriptures as base of their doctrine as you know about Revelations 22:18 and 19.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Men and even women take advantage of what the scriptures say and twist it. You are treating on dangerous waters!! Listen, read the scripture carefully after prayers for understanding. Remember not to be wise yourself. You are fools.

The speaking of tongues as I understand is when the Holy Ghost- God Himself speaking in church for the Believers to hear what God has to say. Since you know the Tribune God is actually male as said in 1 John 5:7 and Matthew 28:19. We are the bride of Christ and Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom. Right? Many things points that it is the men who are chosen to speak what God wants to tell us. I believe it is fine women can teach in church like Sunday Schools, women's ministry, children ministry.. Oh, the Lord knows what God wants women to do what they are supposed to do.

I know of a woman from India who loves children and and she has her own ministry. I am not talking about Mother Teresa. Sure, she was one of them. I am talking about my lady friend from India. She minister to the orphaned children. She is president of this organization.

Another I know from Tanzania also has her own orphanage as well. Both are presidents of their respective Christian orphanage organizations.

They do not work in office all the time. They told me they work in the field. Maybe a couple of hours in office. That is all.

I know of a Christian Deaf school in Central America and they have women teachers. So is another Christian organization that also runs Christian Deaf schools in Jamaica and they have women teachers.

You see, women are motherly figure to children but in church I believe the preaching and those who are called to spread the tongues in church are mainly men roles because they represents God.

I am sure there were females at the time when Jesus was going to Heaven and he commanded us. Yes, final Commandment he added for us to do and that is for both men and women:

Matthew 28:19 to 20-

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

(All scriptures are in KJV Bibles)

AMEN! BUT I read the scriptures before those two verses.. it was for the Disciples. The Apostles. However, I believe also it is for all of us. The Apostles were to begin spread the Gospel and we are are all heard it from them.. How? From the Apostles to the Believers those days and told next generation and then next then next up to this day. And they will still hear it until the day before Judgement Day. That is it.

Jesus said if you love Him as said in John 14:15, he said KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. Many churches err on this saying "Oh this is New Testament and you do not need to follow OT anymore..." BUZZZ!! Wrong, you need to obey Jesus' Commandments! He even said that in that verse!

This means Christian women too need to obey Jesus' Commandment and clearly stated in Matthew 28:19-20 so go ladies! Tell the World about Jesus Christ! If you are married, THEN do it with your husbands!! He is the head of the house according to 1 Timothy 3:1 to 5-

1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
So, ladies, you have a Commandment to spread the Gospel too. Go and speak! It is not me saying. I can feel it. Holy Ghost told me to tell you all ladies, go and tell others about Jesus Christ.

Thank you for listening to lengthy sermon here. God bless!

Paul doesn't say women can't preach in church. He says they can't speak in church. They have to wait till they get home to speak, according to Paul. However, I follow the teaching of Jesus Christ, who told us to love our neighbors as ourselves, and therefore I would never ask a woman to remain silent in church.

The text does not use the word 'must' but rather 'should'. That tells me that this is an opinion of Paul and not necessarily a moral absolute. Not all women have husbands at home either to discuss matters of the church.

It never ceases to amaze me why someone would be against women speaking in a Christian church, would not become a member of a church which permits it, and yet becomes a member on this Christian site which encourages women to teach.

If you don't agree with the rules of this site, why become a part of it? Seriously, WHY?

I don't have a problem with women speaking in church or preaching or singing. I'm no sexist. I just came across the bible verse which I've heard many times and I was confused to what it meant. That's all
I'm so sorry for misunderstanding you, brother Socreta93. I'm so used to contending with legalists posting condemnation against women that I assumed you were doing the same. How careless of me. I am so very sorry to have criticized you like that.

Thank you so much for showing me mercy and correcting me on it. Blessings of grace to you in Christ Jesus, my friend.

Yes that is an interesting and helpful distinction, between speaking in the church and preaching in the church, in that context and at that time. In the early church they must have had so many questions they wanted to ask, not having had the benefit of their own Bibles and sound doctrinal preaching hitherto. I can imagine the women would get excited and want to know what was happening, asking questions all the time, which would prevent the preaching from being heard by everyone gathered. Perhaps the women were beginning to understand, in a patriarchal society, that...hang on...this preaching contains something for ME: not just the men. What a glorious revelation!

The men would have had no problem in this regard, clearly, being already leaders, so if they had received the message themselves, they could adequately share it with their wives at a later time.

Once the wives received the message for themselves and then got saved, they would be on an equal par with the men, as follows....

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

...so then they could preach and teach and evangelize and do all things that God laid upon their heart to do.

Cool beans!
