To all those that claim to be "Saved" and filled with the "Holy Ghost and the Spirit of God" I have a question:


Have you ever asked God for forgiveness AFTER you have been "Saved" and filled with the "Holy Ghost/Spirit"?


This is a simple question that requires only a yes or no reply.

Yes, and it is a good question because the answer will reveal what we understand about confessing sin to God in relationship to the finished work. However, as long as we acknowledge and confess our sin to God when we are convicted, asking for God to forgive us is not necessary for He is faithful and just to forgive us There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking and if you have a problem asking God to forgive you, then you should probably ask Him to do that very thing when you come under conviction when you have sinned against God.having sinned against Him.

This is not a trick question......and of course there is a point to it being asked.



I am curious to know which law it is that you are asking to be forgiven of....if those that claim to be saved feel they are no longer under the law?

Just what do you mean when you claim you are not under God's laws...yet ask God for forgiveness?



It is obvious that you recognize you have trespassed a law of God otherwise you would not ask God for forgiveness.

By asking for forgiveness you also acknowledge the fact that there are yet laws of God that have NOT all been nailed to His cross.


So again......just what laws do those who claim to be filled with the "Holy Ghost/Spirit", but still ask to be forgiven, consider they are no longer under?

I am saying quite the opposite. I know that there are laws of God that men, ALL men, saved and unsaved continue to break. Which is why I asked the question to those that claim they are not under the law.

If you are not under a law...why do you ask God for forgiveness?

If ALL of God's laws have been nailed to His cross to what end do those that are "Saved" and filled with the "Holy Spirit" hope to achieve by praying for forgiveness?

Jesus tells us to ask God for forgiveness of our sins. It is the way he instructed us to pray.


What law are those that claim to be "Saved" and filled with the "Holy Ghost/Spirit" breaking if there are no laws they say they are under?

The scriptures tells us that asking for forgiveness IS very necessary. Jesus tells us TO ask God for forgiveness. And because He has instructed us to do so.....if we do not we have thus broken ANOTHER law of God.

Matt.6
[9] After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
[10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
[11] Give us this day our daily bread.
[12] And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

I (a holy spirit by measure) do not sin, so why would I ask for forgiveness. Evil is with me (a holy spirit by measure) cause it's in my spiritually dead flesh, and hopefully I can put off this tabernacle soon. I am not saying that flesh made holy is not possible, but that's my (a holy spirit by measure) goal.

When we are saved/filled with the holy spirirt, are we still under the law?
Did not Paul teach to STILL keep God's laws to those that stopped sinning?

1 Cor.6
[9] Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
[10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
[11] And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Cor.10
[8] Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Please note that Paul included himself above; "Neither let us commit fornication,...."

Let's read what COULD happen to those that are filled with God's Holy Spirit;

Heb.6
[4] For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
[5] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
[6] If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Is this not a warning that keeping God's laws AFTER they have received His Holy Spirit is still a requirement?

Red... doesn't the scripture say... He will CLEANSE us from unrighteousness? IN relation to the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, Jesus said... "it is finished". Thus, when convicted we aren't really asking for forgiveness over and over... because we ARE forgiven but need sanctification. Rather, we are acknowledging the spirits conviction... recognizing an area that is not operating in "christlike character" and choosing to agree with God regarding the issue... thus we are cleansed of the old character and renewed in Christ... day by day.

Confessing sin isn't the the same as repentance... example "I steal, I am a thief, God says that is wrong." is a confession. "I steal, I am a theif, God says that is wrong, I want to do what God says" is sanctification.

What are you talking about? You do not sin in thoughts nor in actions? Really? Because if that is the case you are now ALMOST a perfect being. You are ALMOST up there with those angels that were not cast out of heaven!

So....when you pray.....although we have been instructed to ASK for forgiveness...you do NOT?

That action alone is breaking God's law. Jesus gave us detailed instructions how to pray. It was not an option. Therefore it is something we MUST do. If we do not we have broken yet another of God's laws. Let's read it;

Matt.6

this thread looks like a repeat of the17 pg thread "fallacies of the church". Go over there where I confessed my sins. It's the last post right now. So obviously u r going to finally get to the point where u say none of us are saved until we die or on judgement day, right.? sorry u don't believe u r saved.
