The OP just asked if it was required. I believe that Jesus told us it is. It is the "faith/grace only" folks that want to nit pick it down to "so, you think being dunked in water SAVES you, don't you"

I've stated all along that we are saved by God's grace, because of Jesus sacrifice for us. We are also required to be water baptized.
And you wish to festoon the perfect grace of God with an ordinance of man.

If you believe your last statement then cease from making water baptism a requirement for salvation. What else will you require for salvation? No meat on Friday?

Water baptism for salvation is the foundation of the Roman Catholic church not the body of believers that Christ is building even this day.

Liberty in Christ not entanglement in earthly ordinances.

sorry but it is a command of God to be baptized. Mar 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Would you tell Peter to stop making water baptism a requirement? (Acts 2:38)

Would you tell Jesus to not use baptism in the same breath as belief? Mark 16:16)

Faith alone for salvation is the foundation of televangelism not the body of believers that Christ is building even this day.

However YOU wish to define baptism, and water, Jesus defines them differently. You can stick with your materialistic and worldly understanding of Spiritual things. I will stick with my Spiritual understanding of Spiritual matters.

Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of
his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
John 7:38

Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13b-14

And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment." Rev 21:6

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say,“Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. Rev 22:17

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Isa 12:3

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb Rev 22:1

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. John 7:37-39a

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Rev 7:16-17

Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” John 4:10
Your reply is classic and expected. Your present nine scriptures, all abstract and general and ignore the more definitive. This is not by accident but purposeful. This is your theology, present only the abstract and ignore concrete.

I will stick with my Spiritual understanding of Spiritual matters.
Classic esoteric response, you prove my point.

Yes, you prove your point that you do not understand the words of Jesus. Calling the Scriptures abstract and general does not help your case, however you want to justify yourself.

Is that what you are hearing? Grace cannot be added to or taken away from. Grace is complete in itself.

For your benefit I will state clearly it is oxymoronic to ascribe to a belief system that depends on water baptism. It is oxymoronic to ascribe to a belief system that permits man to lose his salvation after he has been sealed by Christ unto eternal life.

Happy now? I did not call anyone a moron just articulated the complete vanity of water baptismal regeneration.

For by grace are you saved not by works.

Always give the gospel when the people you speak with are possibly not saved.

Roger did not call God an oxymoron. You bear false witness.

You better go dunk yourself again.

Your verses are general and abstract. To deny this is to deny simple grammar and composition. There are many huge parts of the Bible that are written in the abstract. What do you think the parables and psalms are??

Total misappropriation of the word of God.

As you continue to reject sound doctrine you sink deeper and deeper into error.

Neither Acts 2:38 nor Mark 16:16 speak of water baptism. You know that but continue to deny.

The pope must be proud of you and willing to welcome you back with open arms.

Over 700 posts and we still don't know if water can wash away our sins?
N....,

Maybe you don't but, G-d's word knows and the answer is, after repentance.....YES....for completion of the cleansing of sin process.

You just prove you have little understanding of what Jesus said.

Oh yeeah waaaaayyy too abstract and general for you.

Is that a sprinkling or a pouring for the little sins and dunking if they are really sinful? Who checks to see if all the sin has been washed off?

You better look at ASA guidance for word usage.

For it to be oxymoronic...there has to be an oxymoron.
Still does not mean Roger was calling God an oxymoron. Repent and go dunk yourself again that you may be cleansed of your sin.

Scripture simply calls it being double minded and the evidence is being unstable.

Jas 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
