1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

One coming and all the saved, dead or alive, will be changed and taken to meet the Lord in the air.

Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Rev 20:4 ....and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

2 resurrections 1000 years apart

Full Definition of rapture

  • 1 : an expression or manifestation of ecstasy or passion
  • 2 a : a state or experience of being carried away by overwhelming emotion b : a mystical experience in which the spirit is exalted to a knowledge of divine things
  • 3 often capitalized : the final assumption of Christians into heaven during the end-time according to Christian theology

I believe in the second coming of Jesus and the gathering together of the saints at His coming so i do believe in a rapture but not a secret one were all the saved or chosen ones suddenly disappear.

Every eye shall see Him, rapture of the saints and the rest of the earth is destroyed by His Glory.

I am interested in how popular the rapture teaching is in this late hour

1 I am Baptist and believe in a pretrib rapture

2 I am Baptist and believe the rapture is post trib

3 I am Baptist and believe there is no rapture at all

4 I am another persuasion and am pretrib

5 I am another persuasion and am postrib rapture

6 I am another persuasion and there is no such rapture
6.

But I am curious. Why Baptists? Baptists are something like Presbyterians. Both denominations have split often enough that the sub-denominations swing clear across the spiritual pendulum from nonbelievers to reformed with most somewhere in between.

Has he ever said anything positive.

I cut grass last year for a guy just like him. Could tell a hundred hilarious stories about him and his ultra, ultra negative take on life, his neighbors and his wife.

Pure poison. He hasn't called this season yet. I hope he gets someone else.

I welcome all.

My header says so.

Personal curiosity.

Only a few responded.

Doesn't matter a hoot.

Never should have even thought they would participate.

In that regard my poll was successful.

99% of believers are ignorant of the greatest event to shortly crack the sky and mankind wide open.

Just like the insane alignment of America and the nations.

That about sums it up. You cut someone's grass last year, so that gives you full rights to judge who he is and talk about him.

I like Grumpy specifically because he has the guts to say who he is instead of wearing the mask too many people wear on here. I'd rather spend time with those who know life isn't easy then the people who cut grass to tell why life is hard for someone else, so they can laugh at them or scold them. I hope your neighbor gets someone else too.

I guess poison is in the eyes of the beholder.

I agree. This whole "poll" is trap and now this angry little man is making fun of the participants

My! It must be grand to be the select 1% of all believers to be so wise.

Actually, I rarely participate in the rap/not-rap debates, so only know what a few of the rappers believe. I simply don't care enough to get involved and don't think it's a doctrinal position to worry about. (I do worry if that's the rappers entire gospel.) So, nope. Didn't think it was a trap because I simply didn't know the pieces in the game well enough.

Purposeful "ignorance."

Popeye, I've often wondered who else was encouraged to know about the coming of Jesus for His bride before the tribulation too. As I see it outlined in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

[SUP]13 [/SUP]But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. [SUP]14 [/SUP]For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep [SUP][a][/SUP]in Jesus. [SUP]15 [/SUP]For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive [SUP][b][/SUP]and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a [SUP][c][/SUP]shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. [SUP]17 [/SUP]Then we who are alive [SUP][d][/SUP]and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Therefore comfort one another with these words.

I see this as a great comfort for us to read that many are missing out on being comforted.

Didn't consider yours an odd question at all. I'm so encouraged to know that we are saved by grace and kept by grace and dealt with according to grace. Because I believe that about the Lord's dealings with us so much I hold to the pre-trib rapture doctrine.

Judgment has already been dealt out for the believer and it was done in the body of Jesus. We are the bride of Christ and will not see God's wrath. I see many pictures of this in the old testament with God's mercy before the flood with Methuselah who was the oldest person in the world. This was God's mercy since it is His will that not all should perish.

I see it in Elijiah who did not see death but was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind. I see it in the story of Noah and the Ark and how God was long suffering then as well. I see it in Luke where Jesus entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read Isaiah and He opened the book and found exactly the place where it was written about Him.
Isa.61:1-2a.

The Spirit of the Lord [SUP][a][/SUP]God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the [SUP][b][/SUP]afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And [SUP][c][/SUP]freedom to prisoners;
[SUP]2 [/SUP]To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord

Jesus then closed the book before reading anymore about the vengeance of our God. That is reserved for His second coming. Long suffering and the cross are associated with His first coming; judgment and a crown, with His second.

All of these Bible truths are so encouraging to read because it shows the long suffering of God and His love for us. I see this doctrine in keeping with God's love for us all through the Bible.
