I've said all along they believe its God working in them . it doesn't change the fact they are looking to their works as evidence of their election.

Nothing he said there had anything to do with his works, as a means of assuring his salvation you again are seeing something that is not there

They can't trust the scriptures for their Election to salvation because that's unconditional apparently. Arbitrarily chosen before they were born , allegedly.

I have never consulted Calvin's writings, and what I have been told about them, I do not believe. Scripture proves scripture and should be our only source in gleaning the truth of Chris's doctrine. however, I do consult Greek concordances.

Thayer's concordance says the "world" in John 1:29, 3:16, 3:17, 6:33, 12:47, 1 cor 4:9, and 2 Cor 5:19, mean = any aggregate or general collections of particulas of any sort (used of believers only).

it is not of your power thus it is nothing you earn or can do yourself

so if god gave it to me and empowers me, how can anything I do or do not do cause me to,ever question or lose my salvation?

i believe in eternal security, I am given perseverance also. not that I can earn or risk losing my salvation, but that I can continue to run the race as paul said we all should do, so that I can work out the salvation that God gave me and in that be a light to the world, that I can be above reproach and not fail and as paul said become unqualified to teach the word because my reputation has been destroyed on something I did And even when I fail, or I fall he empowers me to persevere to get back on my feet, and start walking again

i guess you do not believe god empowers you to be able to do all these things?

I think it is wrong to reject what someone says just because of one thing, we need to find what we agree on and work from there to just outright reject everything will never lead to any useful conversation

I don't really agree with what he said right above the last quote either.....it denies all of the believers of the O.T. and the positions of peace they were in by faith.

the promise of eternal life
the promuse of the seal of the spirit
the promise of never leave nor forsake

everything you have I place our hope in

and they agreed with me and told you the same thing the selves

they believe they are saved by faith just like you and I. They just believe their receiving of faith happens Different than you

Sorry. I am probably not thinking straight because of a new user who acts so much like a calvinist in that he falsly accuses them of stuff which is not true, and has his new slave girl liking all his posts and acting like he does no wrong
