What happened? I hope you weren't bullied or shamed for saying amen.

This sounds to me like the old "No one here believes that! You're a liar! A slanderer" straw man that one uses on me quite frequently as I reference the erroneous beliefs of some.

What I said stands: Any person who believes God saved them because he saw they would choose him believes, albeit it could be in ignorance, in merit and conflate merit with grace. Grace is undeserved and unmerited favor, it is not based on God rewarding us for an action he saw us do.

And yes, some on here do believe this. I've shared evidence of this in the past. I'm not getting into a war with a person who outright denies things when given proof, then resorts to name calling. Not you JR, another person.

God forbid anyone believe they believed!!

That is pretty conflated even coming from someone who is well versed in conflating and confusing. No one has ever said they are in God's merit club and have conflated merit and grace.

Too bad you do that. It does not give credence to what you say.
Amen
if he just did like others do and just share his belief without trying to tell everyone what others believe. And then getting it wrong

Then his words became meaningless. Even if they were right. They can not be trusted

WITH REFERENCE TO ALL YOUR MOCKING POSTS
Since you are unable to support your false gospel with anything other than these stupid cartoons, it is evident that you have only contempt for those who hold to Bible truths rather than the doctrines of men. And that is contemptible.

You posted a bunch of Scriptures which proved nothing to support Calvinism. But even after I addressed those, you continue with your childish nonsense. This is pathetic.

Sorry it’s about me again....I read a lot about being led astray..how on earth can I be led astray, when the Holy Spirit resides in my heart?

I have been born again for 28 yrs...no one has ever led me astray....it sounds ridiculous,I don’t understand it....just saying like.
People are afraid you will adopt the Calvinism label for yourself. Calvinists believe that some people are born for the sole purpose of fuelling the fires of hell forever and ever and have no opportunity to become Christians and go to Heaven like you and me. Satan wants people to believe that they have no hope and no chance. Satan is the author of this lie.

I disagree

the beat way to see Jacob and esau is that god did not chose jacob because he was first born or that he was chosen by man, he was chosen by God, as scripture said,

Genesis 25:23
And the Lord said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”

and also this

Malachi 1:2
[ Israel Beloved of God ] “I have loved you,” says the Lord. “Yet you say, ‘In what way have You loved us?’ Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?” Says the Lord. “Yet Jacob I have loved; 3. But Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness.”

and understand god is not talking about two kids,or the saved and unsaved, but two nations. one chosen by God, and one who rejected God,

sometimes it is best not to add anything to the word. but just take it for what it says.

vs 6. It is not as if the word of God has Not taken affect, This is the argument paul uses to show hw god did not make a mistake in choosing Israel
You disagree but then give the verse that agrees with what I was saying... and I did not add anything.

Believers are saved and God's enemies suffer the second death.

Dear bro....I have the Holy Spirit who dwells in my heart..he has adopted me........not Calvin..if what they say is scriptural, then we agree with it.

If it doesn’t..then it has no standing does it?

Love you bro,xxx

I think the matter of 'choice' is another aspect of disagreement in the big leagues. God states over and over again in scripture, CHOOSE and how can we ignore that?

However, salvation is not something you go out one day and say to yourself, yah know, today I am going to choose Jesus and then go skipping on your way.

First of all, how do you choose if you do not have something to choose from? I have read, in this forum, where a Calvinist wrote (I don't remember who and at this point it's a mute point anyway) that a person is regenerated so that they can choose salvation.

Of course no scripture can be provided to give proof of that statement. And then on the other hand you will be told the Holy Spirit cannot dwell with unregenerate human kind (well of course He does because who do we think is currently holding back the evil until God's time is fulfilled?) but then how does he regenerate before salvation. Strips the gears it does.

Obviously I am not a Calvinist, but I don't appreciate Calvinists mocking and laughing at those who believe we do have a choice. (you are not saying this or acting that way so no worries) Like I said, arguements are made from scripture for either view, but some things are just plain fabricated. Like the lake of fire for instance.
Fair enough and bless you for the way you are conversation with me too. Very refreshing brother. I actually don't identify as a "Calvinist", and honestly I really don't like the labels like that. I mean for a general guide it's okay, but when we think that we can 100% identify all a mans beliefs by his label, that I can't stand. An example is I do obviously from my comments here, fall in line more with a reformed theology, but I actually attend an AOG Pentecostal church, and believe it's exactly where God wants me now, even though I do now share many of the same beliefs on some things.

So I praise Jesus name for the thoughts you shared here because I do not believe we have to share the same beliefs on these smaller issues to be saved, especially in this topic seeing how I've held both views while truly saved. I believe we are called to come together in His name and just like I trust Him to guide me to all truth, I must trust Him that He's doing the same in you. Maybe through me He teaches you something, and maybe, just maybe, He teaches me something through you, but ALL for His glory. Thank you though for the conversation, these keep me sharp and searching scripture. Have a great day brother.

I really appreciate this and pray we both have teachable spirits and continue in that manner. I agree about labels and I also agree about not being so rigid we break if anyone shows or we learn better. So I am agreeing with what you wrote. :)

Just one thing though. I am not a brother. Try sister. :giggle:

So you know you had no choice in your physical conception and birth, yet you think you had a choice in your NEW BIRTH, as NEW CREATION in Christ?
Yes. Jesus died on the Cross so that I might have that choice. I will be eternally grateful that He gave me that opportunity to surrender all and come by placing my faith in His shed blood.

To be fair in my head I honestly thought I was replying to someone else, I mean I was responding to your comment, but I thought someone else made it. I thought I was talking to a brother, I would not have thought lenna was a male name. LOL sorry about that sister.

.I would like to see the scripture that says most are denied salvation.
Her point was that Satan and his Calvinist band say that most are denied the chance for salvation. It is not in the Bible because it is not Biblical. It is Hellish.

When one runs out of things to say to back up their argument, they resort to jeers like this.
Or maybe I’ve already watched y’all chase yourselves dizzy around this tree enough times that I’ve just decided to sit back and stir the pot. 🤷‍♂️

Man isn't saved via choosing. That is dogmatically denied in John 1:13 and in other passages.
And yet there are other passages that suggest the opposite.

There’s a middle ground that you do not seem to acknowledge. This may be the case with both “sides”.
