Nobody is denying the flood - just the scope.

Peter was talking about his own generation "scoffing" not later generations.

Context is key.

Did not say they were not Christian, but I stick by my statement that A LOT OF FOLKS on this site believe ant teach things that are not true.
Not outright you didn't. One can easily infer that's what you meant when your remark used the implication behind, say they are Christian.
A lot of folks on this site say they are Christian while believing and teaching things that are not true.

It also implies you teach only things that are correct and your judgment then arrives from that understanding of others.

Hello dcontroversal, If homo sapiens according to the archaeological record have been around for circa 200, 000 years, why then would the Lord all of a sudden circa 5.000 years ago decide man was so corrupt that he needed to be destroyed at that point 5,000 years ago? Why was man (without God) so much more corrupt 5,000 years ago than he was 10, 20, or 100 thousand years ago? Answer: Homo Sapiens prior to circa 6000 years ago had not been created in the image of the Lord (His Spirit of love); and indigenous peoples of the world prior to circa 5000 BC would not have had His Spirit of love, and would therefore not have been deemed culpable of corruption without God.
No offense, but this reply reeks........there is no such evidence of the above drivel.......and make no mistake....that is exactly what it is....drivel.......

Interesting hypothesis Luigi.
Except for the fact that it reeks of complete ignorance.......devalues God, the creation, makes the Genesis account into a lie and slaps God in the face with idiotic human reasoning from so called educated human beings..........I.E. the fools that publish this BEFORE MAN APE who later gets enlightened and comes online as a MAN in the image of GOD.....

The Bible predicts that people would start denying the flood in the end times. FULFILLED PROPHECY:

2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Surprise surprise. Bible is right (again) and liberal watered down christians are wrong(again).
The word of God is assailed on all fronts by those claiming to be believers.....ever pushing the envelope of denial and or doubt while devaluing the very verbiage inspired of GOD to peddle man made theologies wrapped up in a nice little box with a bow of denial...........God will answer one day soon.....and when he burns the heavens and the earth while sweeping the planet with the besom of destruction there will be no naysayers left to sow doubt and confusion about what actually took place.........!!!!!!!

You need to elaborate more clearly what part is drivel. Is it that homo sapiens have been around for circa 200,000 years, or is it that the Lord prior to creating man in His image of love circa 6000 years ago was guiltless of corruption, or is it something else?

I'm assuming you are an recent earth creation believer; do you deny dinosaurs existed, or did they exist with man 6000 years ago?

If that is what you got from my post, that is on me for not speaking more plainly.
It is not what I meant or believe.
Do I believe everything I teach is true, of course I do just as you believe that about what you teach.
When we disagree, it is obvious that we both can not be right, and it may be that we are both wrong.
I believe a person can be saved and not be a Christian.
Being a Christian is living a Christ like life. Sometimes we all fail from time to time. David is a great example.
Am I a Christian? I know I am saved, but I will let God determine if I am a Christian or not.

dcontroversal, who were all the people Cain was afraid would kill him in Genesis 4:14 after his having murdered his brother Abel, were they Adam's offspring?

Genesis 4:14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

How do people here explain the aborigines in Australia, the indigenous people in South America, Asians and Africans who seem to precede an approximate 5,000 year ago flood?
Surely you have all the answers; Job 12:2. :p

Hey! SpoonJuly... PTL!
Technically, we come to the Lord by faith just as we are at the time, because it is not possible for us to clean ourselves up without the Spirit or even to correct our incorrect beliefs on our own.

Is 25: 9, 10 "Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little."
(So that we should be growing in accurate knowledge and doctrine only as we devote ourselves to the word of God)

Heb 5: 12-6:2 "For when for the time when ye ought to be teachers, ye have need one teach you again which be the first principals of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Therefore leaving the principals of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, and of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

Perhaps babes in Christ, which are those who were just born again or those who have need for one to teach them again a foundation of repentance from dead works; are ministered to by the Spirit upon the milk of the word; which transforms the babe in Christ by the renewing of their mind, conforming them into the image of Christ. Where strong meat deals with doctrines reserved for the mature, who are able to walk after the Spirit, denying the lusts of the flesh. Guilt becomes a tool used by the Spirit to reveal one's sin to that person according to their need as discerned by the Lord; and to set that one free from sin working to entangle and then overcome. This is what happens to the mature, who neglect their devotions in the scripture which the Spirit uses to maintain the foundation of a penitent heart, making the mature to be babes in Christ all over again, when they should be teachers instead.

If I profess having a knowledge of the truth, but am unable to be transformed by the renewing of my mind by the Lord's word; would not that be denying the power thereof?

Maranatha!

My statement is true.......and the truth...it is tragic that people who claim to be believers consistently cast doubt on the word of God...make no mistake....whomever does this will pay in the end and it will be no joke or laughing matter......

If the 'earth', ha eretz, in Hebrew often refers specifically to the land of Israel, from that perspective what scriptures would require that the flood actually cover the entire planet as opposed to just where people lived?
