There is zero pride in election. How can there be? There was zero input from the believer.

Amen!.....zero/nada....all the Glory Goes To God,.....We are nothing without Him.

What gets me about that is they can't see the arrogance in that statement, since we're not questioning God's ways we're questioning an interpretation by men. So they are elevating themselves to the position of God in order to avoid having their system questioned. Pure, unadulterated pride.
Agree.
I am convinced Calvinism affects the mind like all other cultic doctrinal systems one has to be very careful reading their literature.

Calvinism is a despicable dogma .................and no it does not Give all glory to God at all it makes God a liar.

"In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

Ephesians 3:20

Glory belongs to God,whose power is at work in us.
By His power he can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine.

I have heard it said that God is in a sense the Savior of all men. Should he withhold the rain from the wicked they would perish, but the Bible says that He does not. Nevertheless ETERNAL salvation belongs to the believers.
Not in a sense....He is the Saviour of all men. He came to save all men. His salvation is only applied to those who believe. That verse is straight forward.

I've been elected. I'm one of God's chosen ones. There must be something special about me.

Truth!!
And why would anyone even want to deny this?

That verse taken by itself would imply that every single person will be saved to eternal life. This is not what the Bible teaches of course.

Thus far I have seen zero evidence from my detractors that men can, in and of themselves and by their own power, believe with saving committed faith that Jesus is indeed their Lord, Savior and Messiah.

And let me be perfectly clear, so let me qualify the above statement: This saving faith, this believing, must PRECEDE any subsequent act of God, and has PRIORITY over any act of God.
In other words man's free will reigns supreme and Gods will follows thereafter.

So far no contributor here has in the least degree convinced me that the above statements are valid, true and accurately Biblical.

Considering the standard for saving faith is "confess with their mouth and believe in their heart" it seems to me it would take you proving that the belief is unique in kind from common beliefs that men can will themselves to.

What you are doing in setting criteria is known as "begging the question" since the criteria themselves force the premise to be true.

I did believe.

I heard, I believed, I was regenerated.

Then answer the question. Who is the all men referring to? Who is the, especially those who believe?

Men can't do it on their own. Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God. God has acted, giving man the way unto salvation in His word. Man must respond. Your silly illustrations can't detract from the truth of God's word.

Hey you are starting to sound like a Calvinist! Because it is true that salvation IS INDEED only applied to those who believe. You are halfway there congratulations!

Your failing is that you refuse to understand that BIBLICALLY, the first cause, the priority, the initiator, the prime mover, the chooser, the elector of belief and saving faith is none other than God Himself and NOT we ourselves.
