Continue reading.. it is made clear all who chose to believe.
Firstly
nowhere in chapter 12 does a state that someone "chose" to believe. Your inclusion of that term is a figment of your imagination, meant to deceive.
Secondly, your free will theory is CRUSHED later on in the text, not supported. Continued reading a brings to the fore the ELECTION PRINCIPLE.
John 12:37......
But although He had done so many signs before them,
they did not believe in Him, that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke:
“Lord, who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
Therefore
they could not believe, because Isaiah said again:
“
He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts,
Lest they should see with
their eyes,
Lest they should understand with
their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.”
The reason that these people could not believe, the reason that ANYONE cannot believe is as follows:
John 10:25....
Jesus answered them,
“I told you, and you do not believe [Same as chapter 12!!]. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me.
But you do not believe [Same as chapter 12!!], because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them,
and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch
them out of My Father’s hand. I and
My Father are one.”
No THAT is a comprehensive statement of doctrine. And it utterly destroys the doctrine of the free-willers.
