Christian Unity what will it take?
Martyrdom, or at least heavy persecution.

There's two churches at work at this point. An ecumenical one-world religion by the Anti-Christ saying get together at all costs. Forget Jesus being the only way just love your Muslim, Buddhist, brothers. And somewhere a true church of believers who still believe the road is narrow, but are caught up in their own denominations and still bickering about Calvinism vs. Arminianism. I don't think there will be any large amount of unity among believers until the world totally hates us. Then we get to see who denies Jesus Christ and who doesn't. That's also why there are stronger faithed Christians in China and other areas of the world who do not have freedom of religion as we western worlders do.
There may be small pockets of people uniting through prayer, bible studies, etc. but denominations just won't fall until something like that happens as far as I can tell.

I recommend that you read the 7 Ecmenical Councils in order to understand that many people have different interpretations of the Bible and to not agree at all in terms of a universal Creed.
I already understand that many people have different interpretations of the Bible, why do I need to read a bunch of councils?

The only thing that could bring Christian unity is love. The 1 Corinthians 13 type of love will bring unity to the Church. We must seek this out.
