Should I get an X-ray?

Or go to visit Xchurch?

in nz, we sometimes call it chch. But I've never in all my life read anyone refer to Christchurch as Xchurch.

Should this forum be renamed Xian Forums? Or will people think its only for chinese people...?

The fortune in my cookie said to live long and prosper.
Numbers 6

24‘“‘The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face towards you
and give you peace.’”

I will still be using Christmas as the motive to use X 95% of the time probably has nothing to do with Christ. Just a method to try and remove Christ to go with the happy holidays mantra.

I dont think it matters

Why not just rename it JESUS DAY?

In other languages its not even Christmas. Its called HAPPY BIRTHDAY

eg Feliz Navidad (spanish)
Joyeux Noel (French)
Bonne Natale (Italian)

which is why people that speak in tongues should pray that it be interpreted. Otherwise you are nothing but a clashing gong and tinkling cymbal.

Greek needs to be interpreted.
So does English for people that dont speak it.

some people have trouble saying 'Christmas' and cant quite get their tongues around it.

Ive heard it pronounced Chrickmuck, Kilikimati and Crossmas.

In Australia they just call it 'Chrissie'.

Also nobody I know says it like Christ-mas. Its more like Krissmiss.

English is a weird language.

Your reference is to the scripture about having the gift of tngues without love.

Actually, those with the gift of tongues pray without understanding, when they cannot find words to express what is coming the thir heart, soul, and mind. Even a sigh can be a prayer. It s in the Book.

but when they are speaking in public to others for them to hear they need to have interpretation. God can understand all languages, but many of us humans cannot.

Well, the "kriss" part is closer to how the Greek word for Christ is pronounced so that's likely why it's usually pronounced that way by English speakers.

Very neat info post. The moral of the story is that xmas should be pronounced "chi-mas" instead of "ex-mas"
