Lacey there is enough in the Bible to FIND GOD. And thank yuo I will GLadly be your friend. STOP worrying all the fuss around the Bible. Let us get the Word in our hearts and we see if we need ANYTHING more.

Little sister, I am your brother, and I will commit to you 100%. God willing we will be made PERFECTLY one as Jesus asked the Father in John 17. And Sister I am only here becasue God wants me here. I love you and I will NEVER forsake you, God willing, and I know HE WILLS us to be one in HIM...

Look here,,, John 17,., And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
Imagine god making laceylacey and Cobus one as Father and Jesus are one... WOW!!!

Lacy soon we will also be of the WE in the WE KNOW in 1 JOhn 5:18.... We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

I see, well you can try reading philosophy or other religions.

I think asking "why?" is a misleading question..... why did the sun come up this morning?
why do we have ten fingers, not nine or eleven?

It just is what it is.... you can still have purpose and meaning in life without ever knowing the "why" question:)
The question "why I'm here" is the deepest question that a man could ask. Even if there is no clear answer, the question is still worth asking for. In my opinion, this is the only question worth asking.
If people would ask themselves this question more often, they would understand why atheism is a philosophy for the lazy soul.
The question "why?" is not a misleading question. On the contrary, is the only question that gets you out of your automatism, out of your exteriority and leads you to your soul and ultimetaly, to God.
Now I understand what an atheist is: a person whithout important questions. A person that is satisfied with the "how" and doesn't care about the "why".

Cob....the fact that men ommitted books they didn't want people reading and editing scripture to fulfill their own need to control people
This is actually not true either. The ancient Catholic monks were the only ones to preserve even the pagan writings of old from the destruction of the Dark Ages.

The closest thing to a Christian denomination manipulating the Bible is that Martin Luther removed several books from the Bible, but again, thanks to the fact the Bible have the biggest documentary trace and evidence in all history, Luther's mistake was corrected and those books were re-inserted into the protestant version of the Bible. And we also covered that the Bible was not editted and this is provable thanks to the fact the Bible is the most found and scrutinized set of documents ever in history.

The whole "Bible was made to control people" argument is pretty silly one, especially if you have read the Bible lol.

Actually most athiest aren't lazy, I've met plenty of lazy Christians who know nothing about their religion and they love to sport fish and cross tats while sitting in bars hammered trying to get their wives to hook up with other women.....but that's another story......I'm agnostic...i believe there might be a God but i have no way to prove or disprove

Woah, slow done there. I don't agree with everything Martin Luther was or did, but I don't remember him going so far as to remove several books from the canon. Just that he wanted to do it (not his greatest moment). On the plus side, he certainly helped Christians return to God's Word (the Reformation - 95 Theses), to remove itself from the paganism that had entered the Church at the time.

Ahh yes one's belief about God changes one's opinion on the importance of "why" and visa versa as well.

That question along with the mystery of death is probably the source of religion.

Anyway I respect your view, I was merely stating my opinion.

Also I would argue that atheism is also a philosophy for the "practical" soul

I've studied up on how the new testament was put together, and it was because the emperor or Rome wanted to untie and strengthen his empire under one religion, so he called a lot of religious men to Rome, and gave them the task of putting together the new testament, they edited books and left books out that didn't go with the agenda of the emperor constantine. And this Bible is similar to the one we have today, constantines Bible was later edited further, to me that can't be simmering inspired by God but only by mans selfish needs. What do you think about this? Please give honest answers, don't think I'm attacking anyone, this is why I'm an agnostic....well one of the reasons
So what do you say about the so-called "old testament" and the "torah'?

Atheism is a philosophy for lazy auto-sufficient people. If a christian is lazy, it is not because he doesn't know nothing about his religion, but because he knows a lot about his religion and nothing about God.

Hi LACEY!

There was a time I disbelived the whole Bible. It took me years to belive Moses crossed the sea that way it says he did. I also believed in "the evolution" theory, now I disbelive more things I "knew" to believe, those things I don´t know...

The Bible, according to what I think I belive, is honest, sincere and BELIEVABLE. There are portions I just simple ignore (or try to think these are ignored) because my understanding is so short to believe. Example: Gen 6:2 The sons of God saw that the daughters of other humans were beautiful. So they married any woman they chose.

There was a time I doubted the account of Jesus (Matt 2:9) and now I belive what I saw with Monica, one night: Two "stars" moving like UFO (that gave me and spiritual insight I largely disbelieved).

I do agree there are adds-on! I believe there are human mistakes, like theses pictures (below) but I do belive it has a lot of inspiration and ACCURACY enough to make Christians believe in what MANY of us belived in.

You are free to belive or disbelive!

That´s UP to you (and us) :)

Heh I am surprised you did not know this Tintin. Yes I was a bit surprised too when I learned it, but Martin Luther did actually remove whole books of the Bible when he created his denomination, and tried to remove others as well. This is primarily why the Protestant Canon and the Catholic Canon are different (all books they have in common agree with eachother, but the Catholics have extra books known as pseudoepigrapha as well as extra parts in Daniel and Esther.)
