prophesying is when you tell people that God said something to you...
lol.. No, prophesy in the context we are discussing is God foretelling future things which will happen.

if God changes what he said he would do...then whatever you prophesied has been revoked...
Yet, prophesy must be taken in context.

For example. God said he would destroy ninevah if they did not repent. They did repent, so he relented in destroying ninevah. That was not God revoking prophesy, that was God revoking what he said he was going to do.

This is much different then saying messiah will come at this time, in the place. at this time. Etc etc..

a good example is hezekiah's illness and isaiah's prophecies about it...
context.

this is the kind of coming jesus and the apostles never talked about...same as a 'coming' in judgement...

whenever jesus and the apostles spoke of christ's coming...they were talking about his literal return...

James 5
[h=3]Be Patient and Persevering[/h][SUP]7 [/SUP]Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. [SUP]8 [/SUP]You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned.[SUP][c][/SUP] Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! [SUP]10 [/SUP]My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment.[SUP][/SUP]

At hand, means it is near, not 2000+ years in the future, at hand has never means far into the future. Either James was wrong about the 2nd coming of Christ, or he wasn't talking about the 2nd advent (manifestation) of Christ.. You can't have it both ways Rachael.

It really does not matter who the serpent was used by or did of itself, The serpents purpose was to decieve Eve and Adamto eat from the tree that God told them to not eat of, That if they did they would die. well they both got decieved into eating from the tree of evil that to this day masquerades as good. They dies Spiritually that day and became alive to flesh. Man was cursed from that day forward yet God ahd Mercy on Adam and Eve and clothed them. Then after a long time Christ our redeemer came on earth and redeemed mankind forgave them all thier tresspasses and by this is able to present each one that comes to belief as holy to his Father and then that person recieves new life her and now in the Spirit of God being dead to sinful flesh (carnal mindedness) now alive to Christ in the Holy Ghost Saved by the resurrection after the death
Romans 5:10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
2 Corinthians 5:20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Have you ever wondered, why Satan wanted Adam and eve to disobey God?

and that fact is necessarily going to affect how we interpret old testament prophecy...for example when God says he is going to bring israel back to the land...reinstate the feasts...and so on...obviously that cannot happen if israel continues to reject him...

we know God is not slow as some understand slowness...his idea of soon is different from our idea of soon...

jesus will have only two comings...not two comings and a 'half' coming that doesn't count like pre tribulation rapture theologians and partial preterists are both forced to assume...and inconsistently on the part of the preterists i might add...

either the coming james talked about hasn't happened yet...or jesus is never going to return and this corrupted world goes on forever...only partial preterists think they can have it both ways...

I have not studied this book yet, because of all the symbolism, it has been very hard for me to understand. So, what is the correct way to study this book so that I can understand all of it's meanings?
I've read it 3 times in the last year an each time The Lord reveals more. You won't understand everything. The holy spirit will reveal what He wants you to know. Try reading the NLT or NAS.

Don't read the NLT or NAS. You must understand that John was seeing in the SPIRIT and not by human eyes. In a few days I am starting a study thread that to my best ability explains most of this. You can understand Revelation if you ask God to open it for you. Just as He told Daniel who did not understand, seal it in a book for in the last days people will be going to and fro and knowledge will increase. I think that is today

Have you ever wondered, why Satan wanted Adam and eve to disobey God?
No I know why, Satan wanted all the attention, wanted all the light of God for self God made man and Lucifer lost some of the light of God that did shine through him to all those angels he had already deceived, by being the answer man
So when this happened his intention was to kill mankind and he could get back to his agenda. Well it did not happen again theway he thought it would when God said that they woulddie if they ate from that tree, Lucifer expected just that they would die.
Now God did not lie thet surely died that day jusy not in the flesh, they died in the Spirit and God had Mercy on them, of coarse Lucifer pissed off, heard the prophesy now and set out to kill the redeemer and that started with ABEL.
Now are you ever goiing toanswer my ?s yes or no will be sufficient and if yes when? Thanks

Actually not prophesy revoked it is MERCY which God thankfully is
