God is omnipresent and even scripture assures us who belong to Him ''wherever we go God is there''

Amen!

But we really do not know if God used a 24 hour cycle or what He used. Joshua claims in the Book of Joshua, that in the Book of Jasher God made the sun stand still. Theoretically speaking, during the separate days of creation, God could have made the Earth rotate at a snail's pace if He chose to.

I love these types of questions and the answers professing Christian give to it.

answers:

  1. old earth/universe creationists taking Genesis to be literal but the 7 days are long periods of earth time.
So God did but HE could not do it in a day He had to use long periods of time because that is what science has given us. God can do it in a day BUT man says no. LOL

2. I'm a Christian but God had to use more time because science has shown that Genesis's account is wrong.

The assumption of man's ability to substantiate what God gave to Moses as HIM GOd being the first Cause uncaused.

Until, like you mention, vegetation was in place, those prior days could have been billions of years. And afterwards, could have been 10,000 years. We will definitely know when we get there!

God did not even need to make it a day per day Creation event, He could have just spoke it all at once. Since He did not, there is room for debate.

Sir, in the time of Adam, there were no commands from GOD yet. Please keep that in mind.
That's interesting, no commands from God yet. Since the male and female were made on the same day, and Adam was given the command not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil when placed in the garden then maybe you might reconsider your reason for denying that the word of the LORD is the same yesterday, today and for ever.

Romans 5 will remind you that BEFORE the LAW came we were alive...
The law came to keep us in check, sir...probably due to the truth that Adam and Eve, once innocent, not knowing evil, had no need for a law...but, when they ate from the tree, and disobeyed the one command GOD had given man, that tree afforded man both good and evil, and they died, (spiritually because of their disobedience, they disobeyed GOD), but their eyes were opened and they saw their nakedness and covered themselves...

Something they never were conscious of before that moment because they were innocent as children and knew no evil...

Please also keep in mind that GOD knew Adam and Eve would disobey that one command
Grace was there from the beginning...GOD, knowing that man would fall, still, created man...

Please review that ONE command sir...and see if you too can come to that understanding...

If you need help, I will point you to those seven key words that will confirm that GOD knew Adam would sin and eat from the tree which he had been forbidden to eat...

Look at Revelation 8....GOD could also have brought forth judgment against all creation in one fell swoop too.

However, HE does it almost in the reverse order of the creation account....

CHRIST said are there not 12 hours in a day?

If you read the Genesis account each day was identified by GOD as such...
And there was evening and morning, the first day.

It would have to be a (as we see it) a ¨dayś cycle¨...we of course include the night hours in our calculating and calling a day a day.

But it is GOD, who defined the day...with the period of time from sunup to sun down. being called a day, and with the period of time from sundown to sunup being considered evening...

We of course don´t do that...we just say there is 24 hours in a day...but 12 hours of it is considered daylight...and 12 hours of it is considered darkness

I agree with much what you say Bro but you have a spiritual strong hold here imo .. Genesis 1 has so much information , too much to add to it beyond what it says or you miss the boat on much more knowledge and wisdom , Genesis 1 sets the tone for so much .. A day is like a 1000 yrs to God but a day to physical time, creation is 24 hrs consistent unless we are told different .. The Beginning started the clock Day 1 and the End Time will stop it ..

Agreed, but no one has ever claimed, nor has the Holy Spirit inspired writers describing the Creation, to specify how long a day was that did include night in the Beginning. We have 2 accounts of 1 day equals 1,000 years, we have Joshua claiming that God stopped the sun in the Book of Jasher, so all of that could have played into the Beginning's account. We are just guessing here and I am willing to bet that none of us are correct.

Yes, God created and established dependable natural laws but He can and does regularly and supernaturally intervene or over ride it at our request or His will ..
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

We are told to not worry about today, I know you've noticed that God does things in His time and He shows up on time , everytime for us ..
And God has reason to create in 6 days , more likely for our benefit .. I think the 7th day Sabbath rest was as much for Jesus as for us .. If not we would have probably worked Him to death before His appointed work/time on the cross during His life on Earth .. I'd hate to know the 7day schedule was based on 1000 yr days for us ..

This is what I do know, Mathematics and Science. I know if we had a spaceship with a fuselage big enough, that from Adam to now, we would not be very from Earth into Space. When it takes 3 human days to get our moon, 140 days to get to Mars, multiple years to get to Pluto, it's virtually impossible to even travel to the next Galaxy out there.

Now grasp this, I beg of you.

Space is vast and endless, If we could travel from Earth to deep Space, it literally would take the lifespan of the 1.2 Million people living to at least 70 years to reach our closest Galaxy. So knowing that from the Earth to our closest Galaxy is literally 84 million years in travel to reach, how can the Universe be only 6,000 years old? That's why they discuss going to Mars because there is no possible way for a human being to travel out of our own Galaxy. And that distance to our closest Galaxy is foolish to measure by mileage because no one could live long enough to get 1/8 of the way there.

So, when we begin discussing things are big in terms of lifetimes, in hundred thousand years, in million years, Space has to be that old to be that big. Granted, God could just made it that big. But we can actually measure Space using high powered satellite vision that can read a dime on a sidewalk from literally 10 atmospheres outside of Earth along with our vision scopes on Earth. So, knowing that Space keeps growing bigger, means the time it would take in travel distance keeps growing.

Basically, you cannot travel further than how old something is in terms of Space!

What does science and math say about changing water into wine ? And God said He stretches the heavens like a tent which implies expansion is still in progress .. Silly science ? They change their sure fire, no argument tolerated ''proven theories'' what, about every day ? They get further from their established lies every day .. I love science and used math formulas all my working life, numbers don't lie unless God wants them to ..

God can we can't, .. I worked with an Atheist a few years ago who knew the Bible better than most Christians, and he told me once he wanted to get in a spaceship and just travel in space .. I told him ''no you don't you big dummy , yould be more sick and tired after about a week in space than you are here on earth ..

Romans 5 will remind you that BEFORE the LAW came we were alive...
Before the law came you didn't know that your days in the flesh were numbered, yet if the LORD hasn't taught you to number your days then you must not understand that whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law. In such I find no reason to strive with someone who strives with the doctrine of Christ. You might consider what Paul wrote in Romans 7 regarding the issue of being alive before the law.

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

In order for there to be an edge of space then the space must be finite right? However, to answer your question there is no edge on a sphere. [See 1 Tim 6:16]
