In my opinion, no, that would not be legal. The writer had a particular thing in mind when the words were written, a particular idea.

But let me ask you this, would you prefer it if we just stuck to the KJV? If the King James says it, that's good enough for us! ?
No, not at all. I use the interliner, strongs concordance, bible dictionaries, I just don't do any of the newer translations so for the most part when quoting, yes, I am most acquainted with the KJV, but it has its issues also. I like going to the Hebrew and Greek. I think within those "words" the most truth is found. What bible do you use?

I know what you mean. I remember beginning to study out a position in Genesis chapter 1. As I began to study it, and meditate on it it began to open up and expand and reveal itself and by the time I finished that aspect of the study I made it to the third chapter too and it took 4 years! Blew me away! Genesis, especially the first three chapters are so incredibly revealing that it is almost hidden. Like opening a foam mattress that comes packed in a small box! Once you clip the straps it fills the room, only Genesis is x 1000!
I know the feelings. If everyone could get that foundation. Could you quickly just let me know a yes or no to 1 an age before this? 2 a difference between day 6 and day 8? 3 How many bloodlines?

Does it ever strike you that the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdoms of this world have inverted principals?

Humility is greater than pride and arrogance.

Being poor is greater than being wealthy

ans so on.

When I meditate on that and think hoe Jesus had no home and was meek and lowly and how he reflected God Himself, then God would appear to a worldly man as a poor broken nothing of a man to the n'th degree!
Absolutely!
Psalm 138: 6. Though the Lord is high, he sees those who are low.

I like to use all sorts of translations and study tools. When you say you like to use the Hebrew and Greek, which manuscripts of Hebrew and Greek do you trust? The same ones the KJV uses?

An age before this, yes

How many bloodlines?

Not sure of the number of bloodlines in the age before this but genesis 6 appears to point out 2 possibly 3 separate events. And, in each event possibly multiple bloodlines. If you look at the plural form of Elohim (Hebrew) in chapter 1 and the point that they are "making" (not forming from dust) men and women after their "bloodlikeness"/genetic likeness (I find many clarifications on Hebrew words that were derived from pictographic paleo Hebrew from the AHLB (Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible).

In day 8 The LORD God (The One True Elohim, The Almighty) Formed from the Dust a man in His Bloodlikeness, And added the "Breath of Life". Note Genesis 2:5 citing there was yet no man to "till the earth". Perhaps "hunter gatherers" to this point. The LORD God put this man in a garden, an agrarian man. Sure, a man who incorporated animal husbandry as all homesteads do.

Many details still unclear. Many general outlines coming into focus, but details slow to develop.

I was told a long time ago the best way to learn is to teach. So I just started a blog and I have gotten up to Gen 11 just today but I am already finding that my thoughts and facts and research and just putting it all together from the materials I have really is helping me. It really is a place where I am forcing myself to stay on track and move forward and have already been told "I flood" and no one will go there so that just made me feel better and more confident. You may want to take that approach also. Apparently no one reads them anyhow. The numbers go up but I am pretty sure that is just because people stumble onto them for a couple seconds each day. Just saying it is working for me and my sense of foundation.

As I understand it, The originals had long since disappeared by the time of the King James, so they used an edition produced by the Catholic scholar Erasmus.

Most modern translations use editions produced by recent scholars such as Nestle.

Do you consider the text that the KJV was translated from to be reliable?

I think a thread following how they apply to our lives today would be a really good idea. I would like to learn. It is hard for me to write about because to separate the Law from the Word seems most unnatural. Is it really more important to stand behind a belief than to have a truth revealed and to thank the Lord for it? Some of my best days in the Word are those with a "revelation" and all the truth that floods in afterwards. I think of is as a deck of cards when you do the little bridge and they all come back together as one deck. That is how one truth will take all those "facts" and make them fit perfectly into that new "reality"
I know almost nothing about "religions" or "schools of thought", I really just study the Word, so find myself very lost in these discussions with all the "big words" I don't know and worse don't want to even look up. I just know that when I read some posts my whole being gets upset, so yes, I would love to learn.
You can’t separate the law of GOD from HIS WORD because the law equals HIS perfect standard of righteousness which man can not be perfectly righteous of his own strength because of the weakness of the flesh.

JESUS IS the VINE and we members of HIS body are the branches receiving sustenance from the VINE and displaying spiritual fruit.

Spiritual fruit Is like a person that smiles genuine and helps the person receiving that smile feel like someone cares and a door might open and they can easily receive GOD and that’s one example.Hopefully you understand what I mean by spiritual fruit.🙂

Galatians 5:20-23
King James Version

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Hi this seems a little confusing. Are you claiming an 8 day creation week when there is only 7 days in a week and mankind being created on the 8th day? I can only find in the scriptures that mankind was created on the 6th day before God rested on the 7th (Genesis 1:26-31, Genesis 2:1-3) and nothing more said of an eigth day.

Thanks for your clarification. Maybe I am reading you wrong.

I am not sure if that is the purpose of the law. Isn't the purpose of the law to give us a knowledge of what sin is when we brake God's law (Romans 3:20) in order to lead us to Chrsit that we might be forgiven through faith (Galatians 3:22-25)? We need to be purified from within to be purified without (Hebrews 8:10-12). This is the new covenant promise. The law cannot purify you that is why we need Jesus.

It may help to recognize the unity between God and His Law. This is not Sci-Fi so keep your thoughts on the matter of fact nature of this. If God is a consuming fire. Deut 4:24; 9:3, then so is His Law. This earth is His creation. While we see that corruption or lawlessness is being allowed, you must also recognize that His Order will resume upon His creation. Each and every one of us has been offered an opportunity to exit the chaos/disorder/lawlessness before the consuming fire destroys everything that is out of order/lawless. When we receive the call or conviction regarding our lawlessness and recognize the redemptive work of Jesus and if our sorrow is for our sins against Him rather than for the wrath that awaits the unrepentant then we are granted the option of repentance. The time and opportunity and charitable nature of this is called Grace! During this Grace period we can receive the guidance of His Holy Spirit which will, if we accept, a new heart/nature which we can walk in. This new heart is one which loves His laws. This heart is under no threat of the Law/consuming fire because the Law consumes the unrepentant/unrighteous/lawless man. Avoid visualizing the special effects Hollywood would cast this in. What His consuming fire does to the unrepentant is not for us to fret over or concern ourselves with except to warn them. Only know this, Choose Life! Deut 30:19

Joh 10:10-11 KJV The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (11) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Regarding the post:

Just know that seed_time_harvest was probably not trying to say the Law is not important to study. It is important to know that where the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth, He takes us to the Law and prophets for guidance as well as the NT! The scripture being referred to in the early church epistles and accounts below are the OT! The two things missing from the New Testament Church were the New Testament (had not been written yet), and Churches!

Act 17:10-11 KJV And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. (11) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

2Ti 2:15 KJV Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 3:16-17 KJV All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Rom 2:12-15 KJV For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (13) (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. (14) For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: (15) Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Do you consider the text that the KJV was translated from to be reliable?
Desiderius Erasmus was a Catholic priest and scholar in the early 1500's. He published five printed editions of the Greek text drawn from about six or seven late (post 1000 AD) manuscripts. He was unable to obtain complete manuscripts in Greek, and had to back-translate from Latin for the last few verses (chapters?) of Revelation.

Robert Estienne (aka Stephanus) produced another Greek printing in the mid-1500, and Theodore Beza produced a third in the late 1500's. All were used by the KJV translators, along with printed editions in other languages including several prior English editions. The KJV translators did not use original-language manuscripts as primary sources for the New Testament. No "originals" (aka "autographs") have ever been discovered. The earliest copies date from the late first or early second century.

The underlying Greek text came to be known as the Textus Receptus later, in about 1632, when the Elzevir brothers used the phrase as a marketing slogan for their printed edition.

Since that time, about 5800 Greek manuscripts have been discovered, along with thousands of manuscripts in other languages. Together they give abundant evidence of the consistency of the text, despite thousands of minor variations.

I repent for my sins and it is by the Blood of the Lamb slain, I am washed clean. Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
