This is the word of God but it scares me.
Welcome Reggie, The only thing scary about the Word of God is not knowing it. It is the most wonderful truthful life adventure you will ever have, while in the flesh. And what comes after the flesh, well, the goodness of that we can't even imagine. Just think how much better it is going to feel going from old and decrepit to young and incorruptible. Glorious. Shoot, going from young and totally healthy to incorruptible is glorious. I can't hardly wait. But I must....
Learn lots, and enjoy.
I just read what you wrote and saw something completely different than I did the first time. Is it the Word of God that scares you or the "debates" we go through here to get to its truths?

Loving yer neighbor as yerself, as can be witnessed in the U.S. of A., as well as other "lands" near and far, seems to have gotten quite "out of hand!" Wouldn't you agree?

"I'm "gay!" "I'm going to marry this guy, and want you to make "our wedding cake!" "Should you not?" "I'm going to throw such a "hissy fit", that you'll be forced to make it!" "Love yer neighbor?"

"I'm a woman!" "I like to "mess around!" "I'm pregnant!" "It's my body!" "I'm going to get an abortion, so I might continue messing around!" "We as good neighbors see this as a "good" thing, and, because we know that which is right, and y'all don't?" "Are going to force you in ACCEPTING this!"

"All this violence in the world occurs, because Jesus, IS BAD!" "We as your "good neighbor", are going to force you to not "publicly display" "such naughtiness!"

"Killing is bad!" "Yer "neighbors" are good!" "Guns are bad!" "We as "good neighbors", are going to take away, yer guns!"

"All countries, founded on "Judeo/Christian Principles", are BAD!" "Because God and Jesus are BAD!" "We as "good neighbors", are going to tear down EVERY country, established on these "BAD principles!"
"Therefore, being good Christians?" "Any mentioning concerning the "law of Moses?" "We don't NEED!" "THEY?" "Are NOT of US!" "We LOVE our neighbors as ourselves!"

"We as "good neighbors", are going to force those who hold fast to "Judeo/Christian Principles". to live in yer head!" (remember?) LOVE YER NEIGHBOR!

Conclusion? We as God loving people? Must! MUST really HATE ourselves! Right?

In this analogy? Tell me "who", is "swappin' spit with the snake?"

A little more clarification on the Law of Moses

I have heard it taught that the "Law of Moses is "a unit" that can not be divided, and The Commandments are contained within, thereby allowing The commandments to be "done away with" at the same time the statutes are. That is not a truth of the Word, that is a tradition of man, being taught as a truth.

Deuteronomy 5:31 But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

Deuteronomy 5:32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

(From Deut 5:7-21 the commandments are given
Deuteronomy 5:22 These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.
Deuteronomy 5:23 And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
Deuteronomy 5:24 And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
Deuteronomy 5:25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
Deuteronomy 5:26 For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
Deuteronomy 5:27 Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.
Deuteronomy 5:28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.
Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!)

Deuteronomy 6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it.

The commandments - The Spiritual, or moral part of the Law. THEY DO NOT CHANGE. They were written by God, on stone, and are placed IN the ark.

The statutes - The rituals, blood sacrifice. Once the Lamb of God was slain, they were done away with or nailed to the cross (yet never gone for education). They were the rituals of Gods Word, they were done as a likeness or type of what was to be accomplished by Christ

The judgments - Civil. Civil law. Judgement can be reward or punishment. Follow God, reward. Don't, punishment

Deuteronomy 6:2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life and that thy days may be prolonged.

Deuteronomy 6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD
(Jehovah our Elohim is one Jehovah)

Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

(Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind)
.

Deuteronomy 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart

(Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Deuteronomy 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Deuteronomy 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Deuteronomy 6:9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Deuteronomy 6:10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

Deuteronomy 6:11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not when thou shalt have eaten and be full

Welcome to CC!
Ya certainly "jumped in with both feet", coming to this thread! ;)
It just SimplGy doesn't feel the same. It is like having weeds in the tomato garden, so you spray some weed killer, and the fruitful garden plant dies

Well, Jesus said: "Love your neighbor AS yourself", not MORE than yourself.

By "swappin' spit with snakes" you mean loving our enemies? If this is what you mean, I can say the following: Jesus was preaching a super mega advanced version of the law of Moses. I'm sure you don't have to kiss a hungry lion in the mouth to be saved. As far as I know Paul never said we have to loooove our enemies to be saved; just not hating them is enough (at least this is what I think).

As for gay weddings etc, we shouldn't take part in. That doesn't mean we don't love them; we just don't approve of some of their actions.

I was just looking for more clues about your age. Well, you're not as old as I might think.

I do have hip osteoarthritis, but it is in a beginning stage and the doctor said I'll die before it becomes a problem. My only limitation is that I can't jog or run anymore.

It has everything to do with the topic.

The body of Christ is the one that will be presented to Him as a pure virgin and whom He will save. (Ephesians 5:23, 2 Corinthians 11:2-4) Israel (the people) are the original branches of the olive tree (Jesus Christ) which makes them a part of the body of Christ. They received the law from God as part of His "gifts and call" which is irrevocable. They were entrusted with the very words of God such as the law and I believe that His words will never pass away.(Romans 11:25-32, 9:4-5, Matthew 24:35) .
It is the gifts and the call that are irrevocable, not the law of Moses.

28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable

So as parts of the body of Christ we should not look down or judge them.

What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God. What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge...”
In my opinion "circumcision" here means the Jewish identity. The Jews/Hebrews received God's law through Moses, they made copies of it and preserved them. The Gospel was preached to them first and then to the Gentiles. They were privileged and yet many of them rejected the Messiah.

See what Paul wrote in Galatians 5:2

Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.

The word/s of the Master is a law to His servants written on/in their hearts.

Confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and walk in Love. GOD IS good and His LOVE endures forever. Amen.
I totally agree!

No? I mean "this" snake:
Revelation 16
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Daniel 11

14 And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.

Revelation 13
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, (Can you say "A-bomb?")

Daniel 11
15 So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
16 But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
17 He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
18 After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle
. (note Rev.13:12) (Rather sounds like Hitler, don't it?)
21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. ("milky" Christians)
24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
27 And both of these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Act 15:24-29 KJV 24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: 25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
I just would like to point out that this event (the council of Jerusalem) took place almost 20 years after the cross. According to some historians even after this council many Christian Jews continued keeping the law.

What gifts did they receive? Who gave them the law? Can LOVE be given as a gift? Can Jesus be a gift? Can a gift be kept, can it be rejected, trampled on, thrown away?Yes. But can you or anyone revoke or nullify God's words? Maybe you can if you consider His laws as not from Him or His very own words. But that would only prove you to be what these verses say....Romans 3:4, 1 John 2:3-6, John 8:42-47

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Matthew 24:35

“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.
Malachi 4:4

“For God so loved the world that HE GAVE his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Look at the similarities. Both were given and both were received then rejected. Both can be found on/in their hearts through the new covenant through FAITH and OBEDIENCE.

Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4:11-12

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. Romans 13:1-2

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15

Have you ever wondered what the LAWLESS one would be teaching people to deceive them and who they are that would teach them in the last days?

At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. Matthew 24:10-13,24 (1 Timothy 4:1-5, 2 Peter 2:1-22)

For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
Jude 1:4

The Lord Jesus Christ, Paul and the other apostles and prophets clearly stated and warned us about these things so do not let anyone deceive you with empty words for God's wrath comes to those who are disobedient.

See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? Hebrews 12:25

I stand by God's words through Paul that His "gifts" and His call are irrevocable.

The word/s of the Master is a law to His servants, written on/in their hearts.

Confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and walk in Love.

GOD IS good and His LOVE endures forever. Amen.

but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.
Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

You are assuming the laws of Moses is a gift, not a command. Then, based on THAT ASSUMPTION, you add to it something that pertains to Gods election.

God tells us the gifts, salvation, justification, etc. I have never heard of the law being a gift. WHERE DO I FIND it in the Scriptures? What Jesus accomplished for us are gifts.

Everyone considers Gods laws as from God.

No need to quote historians. James himself in acts 15 decided that only gentile believers were excused from the law. Jewish believers must still be zealous for the law, and acts 21 confirmed it.
