This depends on which adversary you are referring to. the adversary in which this scriptures refers to is the one in which you have sinned against such a living human being. the adversary i am speaking of is the one who does not want you to be forgiven or feal forgiven and reminds you of sins, that you have been forgiven for and reminds you of sins he (satan) miss lead a person into doing then blames them for there wrong doing of falling for temptation when he had no right to tempt you in the first place (a law unto himself advasary (satan playing God in a twisted way because hes twisted). then theres the adversary who reminds you of wrong doing you where once convicted over and forgiven for. then theres the human being who does not know if the other person is forgiven.
When satan accuses you, just agree with him that you sinned (unless you know that his accusation is a lie) and then plead the blood of Jesus.

A perfect strategy against his accusations.

Its not one dimensional.

The hyper paulines have a similar doctrine that " hey its all good, God forgave all my future sins as well"

And they will say
" i dont worry about sin, it is all forgiven"
If future sins aren't forgiven, too, then everyone will be cast into the lake of fire after judgment day, leaving heaven empty of a single human soul. The Bible paints a different picture than what you're showing us. God will be merciful to those who have faith in the perfect sin offering of the Son, Jesus of Nazareth.

The Lord can be depended on to have absolute characteristics, God never changes. If a person repents of sin it does not matter if he repented yesterday or will repent tomorrow. God reacts to the repentance moment by moment. If a person repented yesterday but changed his mind today and wants the sin, God counts it moment by moment and does as the person wishes, he can keep the sin and give up forgiveness. God reacts to what is today. We may change with time, but God does not change.

There simply is no scripture saying God will forgive sin we do not repent of. It is not truth and God is truth.
A person can generally repent of sin as a whole and yet still be bound to some particular addictive, sinful behaviour.

I do not believe that the Lord condemns that person. That person's faith in Jesus is enough.

The fact that he believes the promises concerning sanctification means that the Lord's righteousness is imputed to him (Romans 4:20-22).

1 John 1:8.

Notice it does not say, "If we say that we do no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

It is speaking there of indwelling sin (in that verse).

"sinless perfection" is a misnomer that is applied to the doctrine of entire sanctification in order to produce a straw man that is easily toppled by 1 John 1:8.

While the doctrine itself, does not purport that sin is eradicated, so that we are without sin; but rather that indwelling sin is rendered dead (Romans 6:6, Galatians 5:24, Romans 7:8) so that it no lomger has any say over our behaviour (Romans 6:14).

Thus, 1 John 1:8 does not contradict the literal interpretation of its context, in 1 John 3:5-9.

Perhaps.

However, we do not have to sin (see Romans 8:12 (NLT)).

I think that you are speaking from the perspective of the unregenerated.

He that committeth sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8).

The one who is born of God "doth not commit sin" and "cannot sin" (1 John 3:9).

The one who is abiding "sinneth not" (1 John 3:6).

And, it is possible to abide in Him for ever more (1 John 2:17).

All of this may indeed be hyperbole.

Exaggeration to make a point.

What point?

That if anyone is born again, they will have a changed life and will begin to walk in holiness.

As it is written,

Pro 4:18, But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
....and yet those verses i posted tell another story.

Do you ever sin?

you just posted that anyone that sins is of the devil.

And that any reference apart from hypergrace ( sinning as a believer = wink wink) is to the unregenerate.

In corinthians it says some are saved as through fire, they are saved, but their works are burned up
( a point to your position)

Now the 7Letters to the churches in rev.

Over and over it says he will take them out.

So yes...it is not one dimensional.

You have to accept the entire council of God.

Or not

What verses did you post?

The following is true in my life.

Pro 4:18, But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

And of course there isn't anyone except Jesus who has never sinned (1 John 1:10).

you just posted that anyone that sins is of the devil.
That is what the scripture says (1 John 3:8).

Do I understand how it all pans out?

More and more every day...but not completely, yet.

Many are not going to do that, but will defend the pride of the flesh Instead of be disinterested In a fleshly matter and you can see that right In some post,I'm guilty of It too.

A covenant always involves 2 parties.

Can you live as a reprobate and trust in the end everything is hunky dory?

Read rev 2.....tells us a quite different story.

So now the hypergrace presents us with works.

It is grace gone to seed, hypergrace, greasy grace, that incubates error.

Because we can see from scripture that in rev 2 they sinned and lost their prize.

Want to know the real deal?

Hint.....it is not one dimensional.

There are only 1 % of believers that are multifaceted.

God is not a "figure it out deal"

He is multifaceted

IOW ... he thinks of everything.

Nothing gets past him or is in exclusive human dynamics.

Once all the verses are on the table doctrine after doctrine gets thoroughly routed.

One dimension = God figured out

Multifaceted = is he really figured out.

Hint....He isn't.

If that is the case, and it is, you need to reconcile those verses.

Give it a shot.

I'm interested in your take on it.

SophieT, thanks for your question. May God help me to explain : With the Divine Power of God, The Creator of Heavens and Earth - "there is nothing impossible to God" to make a sinless perfection, but with men, it is impossible!.
is it all then, or most? I mean ALL, except Lord Jesus, Enoch, Daniel, Job, and others whom I missed in the Bible (ex: Sinless perfection Angels created by the Divine Power of God)
May God bless you more in the knowledge of Lord Jesus
yes. exactly. nothing is impossible with God. but we are not God and the Bible is clear we cannot attain sinlessness in this life on earth

very clear

if people could attain perfection, then we have no need of Christ and the Bible is clear we cannot come to God without Him

there is nothing in scripture to indicate anyone but Christ was ever sinless. where you and another person get the idea that Enoch and the rest were sinless is not from scripture.

it seems you are also saying that Angels qualify for sinlessness. they are not human. what are you talking about?

See Revelation 3:21.

you read it

Jesus distinctly states he has his own throne. further, millions are not going to sit in the same throne. that is not what it means

21 I will let everyone who conquers sit beside me on my throne, just as I took my place with my Father on his throne when I had conquered.

it means to reign...not literally pile up on top of each other

smh

The correct terminology is "entire sanctification".

And yes, the Bible teaches this. if you had been paying attention to my posts, you would have seen some of the verses.
you don't post verses. no one is going to look up every reference you post. post the entire verse with reference if you want people to actually pay attention. if it's not too much bother of course

but scripture does not teach that a person can become perfect.

Of course we have all sinned (1 John 1:10, Romans 3:23); but you didn't answer my question: do you believe that it is possible for someone who is a believer in Christ to walk consistently according to the Spirit?
oh but I did answer and more than once. follow your own instructions and go and look it up. if you had been paying attention to my post you would have see those replies ;)

Of course we still need the Saviour if we have been made perfect.

The only reason that we might be perfect is through abiding in Him (John 15:1-8, 1 John 3:6, 1 John 2:17).
this statement is in conflict with itself. I don't suppose you see that tho

See Philemon 1:6.

As for your latter statement, I have shown that entire sanctification is a biblical doctrine.
I pray that your partnership in the faith may become effective as you fully acknowledge every good thing that is ours in Christ. Phil 1:6

Jesus tells us to rest in Him...meaning the work of salvation is finished. your works are not acceptable; you cannot earn salvation and you cannot add to it and they will ensure salvation either. When Jesus said IT IS FINISHED, that is what He meant....you do not seem to understand that

you may believe it is healthy to strive, but that is an understanding you believe in error. if you are striving, then you believe you have to earn salvation. yet the Bible says all our works are filthy in God's sight

Isn’t Striving Spiritual?
The problem with striving is that it often looks “spiritual” from the outside. Last month I reflected on the story of Mary and Martha from Luke 10 with a group of students, and nearly every student, regardless of spiritual background, agreed that they are striving. Many of the non-Christian students had that moment of wondering, What am I even striving for?! while the Christian students sat in the realization that they really do believe they have to earn God’s love.

The truth is that all too often we get busy like Martha doing things for Jesus rather than being with him. We can find ourselves going to Bible studies, church events, our own small groups, community outreaches, and on-campus ministry gatherings and then coming home at night tired, weary, bitter, and not very “spiritual” at all.

We have to realize we’re in a striving mindset—maybe as a result of pride, busyness, or forgetting to be with Jesus—before we can stop striving and start abiding.

Many are justified and do not immediately have perfect victory over sinful behaviours.

For many who receive it, entire sanctification (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (kjv)) comes as a "second benefit" (2 Corinthians 1:15).
correction

EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO IS IN CHRIST JESUS IS JUSTIFIED

every single one; not just some

as for your references, I am just not going to even bother. if you can't copy/paste a verse or portion of scripture, I am not going to do the work for you

I know that there Is the book by John that says

1 John 1:9
King James Version
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

+++

I think this scripture Is talking about coming to CHRIST and not talking about a person needs to continually ask to be forgiven after salvation.
if you do a wrong to someone and they forgive you , does this mean when you do wrong to them again you should t ask for their forgiveness ? Even if you know they are forgiving isn’t it reverent to repent and ask thier forgivness if you do something again ?

repentance isn’t to just ask forgiveness repentance begins with godly sorrow for your sin of that is there asking forgiveness won’t be an issue . We have to let the truth in so we understand when we sin we’ve done spite to the spirit and need to allow that understanding in so we will repent

if we go into it thinking whatever we do is fine and we can’t do any wrong we can never acknowledge or repent of our sin.

part of walking in the spirit is to acknowledge our sins and repent when we are aware of them this needs to come from a desire to change and do right repentance comes from that place when you begin to want to be free of sin and want to be made righteous
