ok, well, that's different, never mind..........

Church is not a building, it is people. As long as you have a way to fellowship, and you aren't trying to be reclusive, there is no problem I can see, Biblically. If you are seeking any resources for your study of the Word, feel free to pm me.
Also, pm the member "kenisyes" on this forum; he is very involved in a home church group that has online meetings.
That's true Brother, but just to "nit-pick" a wee bit..........don't "home church" groups meet in a building? :)

(just saying)

Actually in reality the word Church used today was translated this way from the Greek word Ecclesia, Which means nothing but the ones that are called out to spread the word as Paul did.
The word Church does not mean or have the same meaning as Ecclesia
Church= building
Ecclesia = called out ones
Just for your information about truth all the way

So, IF a person is INTERACTING with OTHER CHRISTIANS, SPEAKING TO and LEARNING FROM other Christians, how exactly IS THAT NOT CHURCH? How is that not Christian Fellowship?

This whole thread is confusing, in that people are giving so many different definitions of "church."
the title speaks for itself.

"do you need to ATTEND a church"

im in the, "no you dont" class.

im in favor of the, "communication / reading / praying / teaching is what matters" class.

im not saying i dont want to attend a church, but if you dont attend a church, you dont have to worry as long as you are doing what you are suppose to be doing. some people need to attend, some dont. but i think its always good to make your way to church, even if it isnt every sunday.

I agree that the "title" speaks for itself, but the interpretation of "church" seems to be a mystery for some, so, if we agree that "teaching" matters, should we not "teach" the proper understanding of "church?"

If what ONLY matters is that one is doing what they are suppose to be doing, and this does not include congregational worship, then could you explain why Paul taught so much about the necessity for the Body of Christ to work in unity? Why he taught the responsibility of believers to "edify" the church, and not themselves?

I understand, and fully agree........thanks, but some remain confused, and put off by the idea of gathering together in one place to fellowship and worship God. That's why "we/my church family" call it "our church house" and not "church." It's the "house" where "our church" gathers together in fellowship and worship.

i believe we need to go to church not because it is a sin if we dont go .. but it makes us to pray as one people before God and be united in God's kingdom. Church also offers us peace and to meditate one on one with God

What purpose does it serve to go to church?
Fellowship? I see and interact with the children of God daily.

The bible says that God is NOT in buildings made with human hands. Why? Because God don't pay bills on what he owns.

This may offend most but I love you all, and I want to be a good watchman.

Money is our biggest graven image! If we do away with it and just give what we have away and share out of love freely, war can be avoided.

But we uphold something that will take a man would work an honest job as a police man putting away drug dealers, then goes home to sell drugs! Only for the love of money this evil exists!

But I know that day is coming swiftly when this is will be taken out of the way.

ALL of the paper and rocks we consider wealth. It blinds us to real gold, the power within ourselves!

WE HAVE THE MAN POWER , THE INTELLIGENCE, THE FOOD, THE RESOURCES, AND THE TECHNOLOGY TO MAKE ALL THINGS OF THIS EARTH AVAILABLE FOR ALL TO ENJOY.

THIS... Is the sabbath of the Lord.

What our homes do not have and it is a central part of the Church,it is altar.The holiest place in a Church.It is equivalent with Old Testament part of Church which Jews calling The Holy of Holies.Only the Priest can enter in.
That is why our homes cannot be Churches.If u understand analogy with Church of Old and New Testament.

You're a complete nutter.

Sin is the issue, not money, excursively. We've discussed this numerous times at CC. A perfect New Heaven and New Earth will only come about when Jesus Christ returns a second time. That's not to say we shouldn't endeavour to be more loving to our neighbours, we absolutely should, but humans alone can't save the world.

Why call me names if I do no wrong in trying? If I fail, I'd rather die TRYING to save the world.

If you are not trying to do the same again why go to church

Cool, and Church has gotten a bad name to many. When many are out, and get into conversations, and one see that the one they are talking to is interested in God. They usually get the response come to my Church, and they part ways, and truth to this person from God through you is not said to the one that would have gotten total truth in and from God through you.
No: one would rather get this one to go their place of worship, and then get credit as into bringing this one to Church, and then the Pastor gets out his six shooter guns and blasts this person with guilt, and then that one must do what is right. In the sight of who?
Where has the personal relationship gone?

Dunno, I have heard that such as this happens, but it does not happen at my church. No brownie points awarded for bringing a friend or neighbor to worship service, and our Pastor doesn't own any six guns...... :)

My church practices the two greatest commandments, not target practice.

Love ya brother!

[h=3]Hebrews 8:1-2[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

8 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
[SUP]2 [/SUP]a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

God today can only be worshipped in:

[h=3]John 4:23-24[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]23 [/SUP]But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [SUP]24 [/SUP]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

I am so elated to ear that from Brother. Just my experiences here with Churches led to know where the one and only true Tabernacle is as I have posted in Post #157/ and have found here on CC to be great place for fellowship and much learning from others
