...what does "coming to the cross" mean? (without using the word "cross".
For Christ it meant torture, humiliation, and death.

For us it means comfort, humility, and Life.
It is metaphorical for approaching God with great humility and acknowledging His Authority.
That's what it means to me.

You MEAN THE CHURCH! THE BODY OF CHRIST! The CHURCH OF GOD!

No, it's not just you. I can't make head or tail of what he says most of the time.

In reading his profile, I may have discovered a clue........He says "Salvation is a process....."

um, er, well, if we are strictly adhering to denotations, I suppose so, but I thought salvation was a gift of Grace from God paid for by the precious blood of Jesus the Christ shed on Calvary's cross so that whosoever believeth in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.

Silly me.........

is this in any scripture?
True gathering, true tabernacle is: Between God and you, and is not bad to go and learn form others, just seek discernment in all things and read the word, asking God for truth, in separating any errors that have and are involved in truth being used to twist and mislead.
We each I think need to personally get involved and read the word, asking and trusting God to be our teacher, final authority as to what is truth and what is not truth
[h=3]Hebrews 8:1-4[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[h=3]The High Priest of a New Covenant[/h]8 Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, [SUP]2 [/SUP]and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law.

[h=3]Hebrews 8:11[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]11 [/SUP]No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.

You know each holds to their own source that they think is truth, and what I believe as truth is truth to me, yet to you, it might not be truth, might be truth to you, you or you later, and or maybe not.
So with that said, does each one of us believe this verse as truth to us from God
[h=3]Romans 14:4[/h]Living Bible (TLB)

[SUP]4 [/SUP]They are God’s servants, not yours. They are responsible to him, not to you. Let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. And God is able to make them do as they should.

So seeing that why not just plant and water as Paul says that is all we are as servants, for is it not God that:

[h=3]1 Corinthians 3:6[/h]Living Bible (TLB)

[SUP]6 [/SUP]My work was to plant the seed in your hearts, and Apollos’ work was to water it, but it was God, not we, who made the garden grow in your hearts.

[h=3]1 Corinthians 3:6[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]6 [/SUP]I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

Can we all sparingly love, and ask for God to show us as we each go to respond to others?

Well, now, not for nothing Brother, but I hope you show me more than "sparingly love."

Goodness, my love overflows for my fellow believers!

Hmm... okay, thanks. The process is sanctification. Salvation begins the instant we accept and receive God's grace and He becomes our Lord and Saviour.

This sanctification is a continual process. It is the perfecting of ones self, in which we will be ultimately perfected upon entering Heaven. Sanctification is walking with God, being obedient to Him. Separating one self from the ways of the world. Continuing to mature as a Christian. Supporting the bride of Christ (the Church) is part of that walk. Fellowship with like minded people. Jesus commanded that we not forsake the assembling together.

Yes, sanctification is an on-going process of walking in obedience with Christ. I'm quite familiar with the belief. Thanks. :)

No problem Tintin.

I didn't have any doubt that you already new this. I just took the opportunity to post my understanding of sanctification in relation to the op.

Discussion is important through growth as God uses everything around us to show us, including discussions ( asking God questions and having support from one another and The Bible being used as God's word and main tool to learn from ). So I agree The Bible is for teaching us and God is The Growth.

But, Imperfect, 1 Corinthians 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

Basically we are a body, Romans 12:5, all together we're useful to support each other but alone you're basically saying you don't need our help but here you are asking and here we are happy to help you!

i agree fully. but that doesnt mean that you have to attend a church.

im not against attending church, its just my personal situation is a little restricting. so im asking if its ok if its ok to read, pray, and gather your understanding through prayer and the Lords teaching.

but having interaction with other christians, and always speaking to others and learning from others is a must. im saying, you dont have to be in a church to achieve that.

So, IF a person is INTERACTING with OTHER CHRISTIANS, SPEAKING TO and LEARNING FROM other Christians, how exactly IS THAT NOT CHURCH? How is that not Christian Fellowship?

This whole thread is confusing, in that people are giving so many different definitions of "church."

Growth usually starts sparingly as we learn to walk by God's Spirit not flesh, Thanks, all of God's love to you, and that is unfathomable

Church is not a building, it is people. As long as you have a way to fellowship, and you aren't trying to be reclusive, there is no problem I can see, Biblically. If you are seeking any resources for your study of the Word, feel free to pm me.
Also, pm the member "kenisyes" on this forum; he is very involved in a home church group that has online meetings.
