Mat. 24:13 "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
That is the error of reading one verse and thinking it speaks volumes.
Context! Is everything in good exegesis.
All of chapter 24 is to be understood in proper context so as to understand what verse 13 is telling us. In short, while we will encounter many false teachers that try to lead us from the truth, those who endure in trusting the promise of God at his word that they are in Christ and assured immortal life in him will find their trust was warranted. Because they are saved after life. Just as The Word promised in His word.
Jesus did the work for us on the cross. We need only faith to be saved. And no man shall take us from that promise.
Galatians 2:16 "Nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."
Galatians 2:21" I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."
Galatians 2 Chapter 2
The apostle, in this chapter, continues the relation of his past life and conduct, which he had begun in the former; and, by some further instances of what had passed between him and the other apostles, makes it appear that he was not beholden to them either for his knowledge of the gospel or his authority as an apostle, as his adversaries would insinuate; but, on the contrary, that he was owned and approved even by them, as having an equal commission with them to this office.
I. He particularly informs them of another journey which he took to Jerusalem many years after the former, and how he behaved himself at that time (v. 1-10). And, II. Gives them an account of another interview he had with the apostle Peter at Antioch, and how he was obliged to behave himself towards him there. From the subject-matter of that conversation, he proceeds to discourse on the great doctrine of justification by faith in Christ, without the works of the law, which it was the main design of this epistle to establish, and which he enlarges more upon in the two following chapters.
