Okay please pardon my ignorance. I'm not very qualified to speak on these matters, so let me rephrase everything in my simple hillbilly talk.

It sho does seem like some folks here is sayin' that maybe man did come from monkey, and sayin' that this idear don't go against the Bible.

So all I gots to say is that I ain't eva gonna believe that man came from monkey, coz it don't jive with my KJV -- or even my NIV -- and it don't jive with my hillbilly common sense. That's all I gots to say.
Yep. Sooner or later, believers will find out that man is just fallible in science but God's Words are true. They need not try to fit evolution theory in the Bible because the Bible can disprove evolution.

Dinosaurs before man?

Then explain how the Bible can describe a behemoth as a dinosaur in Job 40? No hippo nor elephant has a tail of a cedar which is a tree.

So while fallible men in science are trying to prove the fairy tale of the evolution theory, believers can know the truth of our origins in the Bible and rest in God's Words as true for the scriptures were backed by Jesus Himself. Since He upholds them, then I place my trust in Him and His Words.

It may be obvious to the majority of posters here, but can somebody explain exactly why it's not possible to believe in evolution and the bible?

Good question pogrud.

Hi guys, help me list all the contradictions. List here all the things in the Bible that are different from evolution.

#1 Do you believe that God made the first man from the dust?

Genesis 1:7 "the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. "

#2 Do you believe that God made Eve from the rib of Adam?

Genesis 1:20 "But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. "

Do you believe those parts of the Bible?

If you do believe those parts of the Bible, then you can't believe evolution.

Even the NT quotes and refers to those events as real fact.

For example, when it says that women should not teach or have authority over men in the church, it give as the main basis this real, factual event of creation:

1 Tim 2: "for Adam was created first, and then Eve".

Thanks RoboOp. I don't see these as contradictions to evolution though. I'll provide a loose explaination as to why there is not necessarily any contradiction. My explaination is not hard science since most readers here are not scientists. It does however fit in with common modern scientific understanding.

Adam is created from dust
As I understand it, the majority view within the scientific community is that the earth and all life are created from elementary matter created by stars. This matter is often referred to as 'stardust' (not a hardcore science term though). If you were to take this interpretation of the bible literally, I'd argue that 'stardust' is more realistic than common 'dust' (made from dead skin cells and other 'dirt'). When we die, our bodies decompose into 'dust'. Everything we eat grows from the matter from the same particles.

Eve is made from the rib of Adam
If you want to take the 'rib' idea literally. A rib is a 'less developed' organism than an entire human. This could be used to grow other human parts. It would contain the same genetic code as a whole human. This has been demonstrated to some extent in biology to grow complex human parts (e.g. ears or other organs) from simpler cells. Another way of looking at it is how a seed grows into a plant - the code is in the small seed, and it grows into a complex plant. The seed/plant and cell/organ examples are just one stage of evolution.
