Scott:

The verse says -
baptism (not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the examination of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 3:21 ONT).

A Baby does not have a conscience and thus cannot make a conscious decision. Infant Baptism is a dedication, by the parents, to bring a child up in a religion. This can help, but in some religions it can also confuse.

Scott said:
If verbal confession is required, there would be a scripture that says, "Speaking is required for salvation."

Scripture says:
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.

It was kinda set up that way. The largest Church that baptizes infants is the RCC, and so far I haven't seen any Methodists, Orthodox, Anglicans, Lutherans, Presbyterians (some), or Reformed (some) show up here.
Lutherans baptise infants, and Reformed 'christen" or dedicate their babies to the Lord.
i think it is a good practice, and shows faith in the Lord's promises, and seeks His (unmerited) favour, Hi Grace and protection for the children of those who love Him (the parents and families): is anything impossible for The Lord?

i am not dogmatic about it, and i do not believe baptism "saves" a child who doesn't even know Jesus yet simply because the baby was immersed or sprinkled; but i do believe the Lord loves the little children.

Most of you are in error.

I will tell you who is saved. Anyone that does the will of the Father will be saved. Anyone who believes on Jesus Christ that he died and rose for their sins and justification will be saved. Anyone that believes and is baptized will be saved. Anyone that endures till the end and does not faint will be saved. Anyone that believes that Jesus is the Son of God, the savior of the world will be saved. And anyone that keeps the commands of the Lord loves him, and will be saved.

Why do you determine to pit scripture against scripture, which is not against itself but against anyone who does not have CHARITY? I tell you the end of this way is death and condemnation, because NO ONE is edified by it. JESUS SAVES.

May Jesus bless you.

I've often wondered at what point was I saved. I look back on my life and I see GOD's hand the whole way guiding me towards HIM. Was there any one event that caused GOD to Love me and Save me? I don't know... It feels like a whole series of lifelong events that caused me to be broken in front of HIM and ask for HIS forgiveness and mercy. Maybe it was infant baptism that did it. Maybe it was childhood baptism that did it. Maybe it was adult baptism that did it. But doesn't that go against GOD's word? Baptism is something we have to do and therefore a work. The bible explicitly says that we are saved by grace and not works, and that not of ourselves lest any should boast. GOD saved me, is saving me, and will continue to save me even though I have done nothing to deserve HIS love or forgiveness. When did HE start saving me? Only HE knows...
