Ephesians 2:8-9 is talking about Justification (Initial Salvation) and it is not talking about Sanctification (Continued Salvation). We are also saved by grace thru FAITH. But what is your faith supposed to look like? James says faith without works is dead. Hebrews 11 says faith is both a belief and an action. So is Paul and James in conflict with each other? No.

For James and Paul go together. Like two sides of the same coin, they don't conflict with each other; they compliment each other. Both teach us something vital. Paul looks at what goes on internally; James talks about the external results. Paul says, "We're saved by faith." James says, "This is what saving faith looks like."

In other words, works (all by their lonesome) is not what is saving you but it is the proof that Christ is living in you who does the actual saving. For he that has the Son has life and He that does not have the Son does not have life (1 John 5:12).

I respectfully must disagree with your interpretations of these verses. It changes the meaning of grace, and for me, the truth of the gospel of grace was a major turning point and majorly important. But not something that can be argued about. I won't keep re-posting the same verses to you and you to me getting in a verse war  So, will be seeing you on the forums!

Amen and not to mention his stance on sanctification is faulty as well...Hebrews states clearly that one is sanctified forever (positionally) in Christ.....!

Saints....Saints..,Jesus said a smoldering flax he will not smother what gives us the right? There are some issues that need to be addressed but I believe Jason is trying his best to convey his findings maybe to hard. He is not our enemy. We could use a little less stones and a lot more anointing on these matters. As the Lord said (let us come together and reason) and for the sake of the holy spirit let us not grieve him in our thoughts and actions. Being a child of God is not all about being dogmatic and cruel about truth it is about bringing a person to the one that can open their eyes. Don't let the sun go down on your anger but let the spirit of the Lord do his work also. Pray for each other and let go ...let God.

1. Jason is our enemy, and an enemy of God. Galations 1 shows what needs to be done with his gosel.

2. He is to be loved, and prayed for. His gospel is to be condemned to hell or anathema'd

this we need to be kind to everyone and there are many ways to god idea that is going through the world is a tool of satan. It is not from God.

I already did.

Galations 1. If anyone teach another (different in type) gospel than what we have taught to you, which is not another (different way to get you to heaven) let him be anathema'd

Jason does not teac h the gospel that Paul taught, he more teaches the gospel that the judiasers taught. only in a modern, non jewish traditional way.

Yeah I see your point as I looked back at the posts. I gave a short teaching on Matt 5 and 6 because I see a lot of people stumble in that area and don't understand what is being said and done. Then they go to the meat of the word and get twisted. A lot of well meaning people only see the death of Christ as for man's sin only but there was so much more accomplished on the cross. Jesus was the total fulfillment of what was required by God and became our Sabbath as we rest in his work.

people like Jason not only are blinded to this because of their pride. they do not teach rest. they teach work and fear, even though they deny it.

If folks here believe 1 John 1:8 teaches you will always have some kind of sin in your life, then you are going against the teachings of Jesus, and the apostles. Paul said if any man speaks contrary to the words of Jesus Christ and the doctrine of Godliness is proud and he knows nothing.

"And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."
(Job 28:28).

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." (Proverbs 9:10).

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." ----------- (1 John 4:18).

How is one made perfect in love?

"If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15).

"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." (1 John 5:3).

Yes. When I look it is only at the big twelve, and that, not often.
And never the SEC. Cheering for the SEC is anathema.;)

Why would one be afraid or in fear in the first place? Well, if they are living in serious unrepentant sin (of course). For the Scriptures say that the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience (of which we also ONCE WALKED (PAST TENSE) when you lived in them.

"....the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience: In which you also once walked, when you lived in them." (Colossians 3:6-7).

"For government is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God's servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong." (Romans 13:4 HCSB).

Now, lets understand something here. One cannot be afraid of anything if they placed their trust in Christ. Why would they be afraid of death if they are just going to be with Jesus? So no. Sin leads to spiritual death that causes fear.

For why on Earth are we told to work out our salvation with fear and..... TREMBLING? Is not trembling in relation to fear? But folks here would rather change the word "fear" and change the word "trembling" so as to fit a commandment from men. God wants you to turn from your wicked ways and to stop sinning and be fruitful for His Kingdom. For being fruitful has nothing to do with trying to earn your salvation, but it has to do on whether or not God lives within you or not.

For Paul said know ye not your ownselves. Prove that Jesus Christ be in you unless you be reprobates. (2 Corinthians 13:5). How does the OSAS sin and still be saved belief even make sense out of that verse? Does one change what the verse says plainly again?

I wonder what it is like to live so aware of sin that it becomes all you can talk about to others

Where is the rest God has promised? Where is the abiding IN Him?

If one is so constantly sin oriented, how can one ever appreciate God's mercy, grace and love?

it is a sad and weak representation of God to assume we can do our part to earn salvation

and make no mistake, a person that believes they are sinless is utterly deceived and leading others into deception

God is merciful, just and true....He has provided a perfect salvation that is not based on what we do, but is based on what HE has done and WHO He has provided

All this talk about perfection and walking in the spirit and being sinless is a fist in God's face IMO. That is not what is meant by walking in the spirit. It does not mean you become a sinless being...that would put you on equal footing with Jesus and that will never be.

You are rejecting what God has done because you can never be sinless in this life. If you believe you have obtained that state, then you do not actually understand what sin is.
