Hebrews 10
Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All

1The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. 4It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;
6with burnt offerings and sin offerings
you were not pleased.

7Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, my God.’ ”

8First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. 9Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

...

like...diggs - are you saying animal sacrifices were offered in accordance with the Law?
and that the law was only a shadow of the good things that were coming—not the realities themselves?
that sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, can never make perfect those who draw near to worship?

den what dey talkin 'bout:confused:

1) animals slaughtered memorially cuz apparently we're too ignorant in the Millennium to recognize The Glorified Majesty Alpha & Omega Christ

2) animals slaughtered as a reminder of death (don't ask)

3) artificial hologramish spiritual sacrifices (little hi def turtle doves?)

a-a-a-a-a-anyways.
not knowing.

O Bible, why you so hard?
They deny the sacrifice of the lamb.

God sending himself down and sacrificing himself to himself?

No I'll never get my head around that lol
not sacrificing himself to himself....making payment for something...for people who can not pay.
payment that is DUE ON ARRIVAL.

got any kids or grandkids?
a wife you love? a brother? friend?

anyone you'd die for?

Romans 5
6For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

how about somebody who knows you, but hates you and pretends you don't exist.
would you die for him?

This is not complicated. Just believe what the bible says.

Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Animal sacrifices were part of the Old Covenant, they have vanished away. Christ became the high priest and his body, the body of Christ (Christ and his church) is the temple of God - This is Ezekiel's temple!

Heb 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

Ezekiel's temple and the sacrifices that take place in Ezekiel's temple are described right here in 1st Peter.

1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Ezekiel's temple is a spiritual temple (the body of Christ) the sacrifices in the temple are spiritual sacrifices. It's pretty cut and dry.

If the devil is in the pit how can he influence men to sin? Sin induces death. Men will die at the end of the millennium but like Noah and others I think many will live a very long life during that period. The judgment will occur after the millennium at the Great White Throne judgment.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
The first death is not always the result of sin, the human body is designed to wear out. Man started with a long life span, then it was reduced to...

Gen 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

And later on it was reduced again...

Psa 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Now the only indicator we have for the lifespan in the Millenium is found here...

Isa 65:18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Isa 65:19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
Isa 65:20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
Isa 65:21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
Isa 65:22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
Isa 65:23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
Isa 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Isa 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

I posted the rest of the verses around verse 20 as context to show the time frame. Looks like 100 years during the Millenium. After a person becomes spirit, he will not live in houses or plant and eat or worry about another taking their houses or crops (vs 21-23).

If we go back to Gen 1:26 we see that man is a two part creation. We are made in the image of God, but not yet in His likeness.

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

That doesn't occur until the resurrection...

1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

1Co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
1Co 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
1Co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
1Co 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
1Co 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

At the last trump.

Hmmm, did you read what you highlighted? Is there a difference between someone who is ready to die and someone who has already died? The Old Covenant will not pass away until the New Covenant is fully established at the return of Christ. In the meantime only those God has called are under the New Covenant today.

Animal sacrifices were part of the Old Covenant, they have vanished away. Christ became the high priest and his body, the body of Christ (Christ and his church) is the temple of God - This is Ezekiel's temple!
No it is not, Ezekiel dedicated nine chapters to describing teh Millenial Temple down to the river that mraculously healed the Dead Sea.

Heb 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

Nope, the church today is the Temple, but there will be a literal Temple built during the Millenium.

The first death is not always the result of sin
Romans 5
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned

MAN'S CHOICE TO REJECT GOD AND LIVE IN SIN BROUGHT DEATH AND RUIN TO ALL CREATION,BUT GOD WILL RENEW EVERYTHING BACK TO PERFECTION VERY SOON AS DEATH AND HELL ARE CAST INTO THE ETERNAL LAKE OF FIRE!

K. so Zechariah, which was written long before Ezra, Nehemiah, told of a time when the feast of booths/tabernacles would be followed, and there would be punishment for those who didn't follow.

Zech 14
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. [SUP]17 [/SUP]And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. [SUP]18 [/SUP]If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. [SUP]19 [/SUP]This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
TABERNACLES/BOOTHS OBSERVED..

Nehemiah 8
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Now on the second day the heads of the fathers’ houses of all the people, with the priests and Levites, were gathered to Ezra the scribe, in order to understand the words of the Law. [SUP]14 [/SUP]And they found written in the Law, which the Lord had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month, [SUP]15 [/SUP]and that they should announce and proclaim in all their cities and in Jerusalem, saying, “Go out to the mountain, and bring olive branches, branches of oil trees, myrtle branches, palm branches, and branches of leafy trees, to make booths, as it is written.”

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Then the people went out and brought them and made themselves booths, each one on the roof of his house, or in their courtyards or the courts of the house of God, and in the open square of the Water Gate and in the open square of the Gate of Ephraim. [SUP]17 [/SUP]So the whole assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and sat under the booths; for since the days of Joshua the son of Nun until that day the children of Israel had not done so. And there was very great gladness. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Also day by day, from the first day until the last day, he read from the Book of the Law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day there was a sacred assembly, according to the prescribed manner.
Punishment declared by the world ruler to them for those who do not follow.

Ezra 7
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Also we inform you that it shall not be lawful to impose tax, tribute, or custom on any of the priests, Levites, singers, gatekeepers, Nethinim, or servants of this house of God. [SUP]25 [/SUP]And you, Ezra, according to your God-given wisdom, set magistrates and judges who may judge all the people who are in the region beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and teach those who do not know them. [SUP]26 [/SUP]Whoever will not observe the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily on him, whether it be death, or banishment, or confiscation of goods, or imprisonment.

its all well and good dying for someone else. You can take their punishment but you cant take their responsibility.
this is true.
those who don't accept the free gift of Christ dying in their place, will bear the responsibility for their sin.

an unpaid debt.

which requires payment. Justice. God will hold court and provide Justice.
anyone not accepting His gift of aquittal (due to Christ's taking their place) will stand trial and answer for everything....and go away to a bad place.

those who receive Christ, receive a new heart - and so make a U turn from their past irresponsibilities.
never perfect, in this life.

but forgiven.

those not receiving Christ are not forgiven.

John 3:18
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

There will be no death on the earth during Christ's reign.
For the cause of Christ
Roger
How can that be if death is the last enemy defeated and that does not occur until the end of the millenium?
1Co 15:24-26 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father;when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

The people will forget and when satan is loosed from the pit many will follow him.
1Th 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
How can those who will be ever with the Lord be decieved into following satan?

If I'm not mistaken, God will dwell in the Millennial temple. So according to the bible if God dwells there it will not be made with hands.

How can this be during a supposed future millennial reign? Isn't the millennial reign supposed to be a time of obedience and peace? In the verses below you have the potential for people to be disobedient.

And lotsa folks on this board suggest Christ can't be reigning if there are disobedient people.

[SUP]16 [/SUP]And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
