it's pretty much choose A or B.

and the right answer is pretty much spelled out quite clearly in the text.

what's your answer, Studydude?
Saul's religious traditions and Commandments of Men he taught as Law as a Pharisee were Fleshy. God's Commandments that Paul and Zechariahs followed was Spiritual.

I gave a more detailed answer in post #9567

in your view does the fake God speak throughout Leviticus or does it switch back and forth?
We see Jesus the Redeemer who brought them out of Egypt in Leviticus 25:47-55, but other that that I cannot say. I do know the true God abhors burnt offerings and I cannot see Jesus condoning mass murder. Other than that you need to seek God in prayer and meditation.

And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family: After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him: Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself. And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him. If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for. And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption. And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight. And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him. For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

As is your custom, you didn't read the post. Your answer is there.
lol you lie boldly, and slander me. is this not your custom?
i read your post.

no answer. complete diversion.

Philippians 3:1-11

is this a list of things that damn the flesh or a list of things that would justify confidence in the flesh ((if such confidence were possible)) ?

simple question. A or B, is it a list of reasons for justifiable confidence in the flesh, or is it not?

The workers for and law keepers have no problem embellishing and or stating things that are false in order to make their case....seems to be the regular modus operandi........seriously....been dealing with it since I have been on here......especially the lie that those who believe in eternal security also believe and teach we can live like the devil and sin all we want.......

okay, so the true God and the fake God are interwoven throughout the Old Testament, and it's up to the reader to decide which is which.

Does the fake God appear anywhere in the New Testament?

PS,

are Joseph and Mary following the true God here?

Luke 2: 24. and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, "A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons."

Most do not know what "the Law" is. Here is the law scattered through the Torah. There are 613 laws. Maimonides is credited with creating this list after careful study of the Torah. The list is divided into the do's and don'ts. It is then subdivided into who and where they apply.

In addition to the 10 commandments there are the laws scattered through the Torah.

List of the 613 laws in the Torah
All 613 Commandments in the Old Testament Law of Moses

Thanks for this help.

There is such confusion today about the law of the Lord. God gave the Hebrews lots of help to live in His kingdom here on earth. Circumcision set them apart, and it symbolized giving themselves to serve the Lord. Dietary laws told them not to put anything in their body or mind that was garbage, among many other things it helped them with. When everyone received the Holy Spirit as they accept the Lord, we were to follow the spirit so that we could give all of ourselves to the Lord without these helps, we were to nurture the Holy Spirit within us.

During the time the Christ lived, gentiles and Greeks scoffed at those crazy Jews with their strange ways. Most felt that they could see that the God they believed in was a good God, but if they had to be circumcised to join him or change the way they ate it was a no go. They called these things the "Law of Moses". When we read about the Law of Moses in the NT, it is quite a job sorting out what the author meant. He was only writing what God told him, but the authors are writing this using words they understood the meaning of. If we don't know what those words meant during the time they were written in we can get the wrong idea of what God is telling us.

Adam Clark says this:

"Though neither Mary nor her son needed any of these purifications, for she was immaculate, and He was the Holy One, yet, had she not gone through the days of purification according to the law, she could not have appeared in the public worship of the Most High, and would have been considered as an apostate from the faith of the Israel of God; and had not He been circumcised and publicly presented in the temple, he could not have been permitted to enter either synagogue or temple, and no Jew would have heard him preach, or had any intercourse or connection with him. These reasons are sufficient to account for the purification of the holy virgin, and for the circumcision of the most holy Jesus."

Sometimes we have to go with the flow or Jesus according to THEIR custom would never have been accepted into the Temple and allowed to preach.

I'm ending this here as I don't feel it brings honour and glory to anyone.

I'm typing real slow so you might be able to understand this time. Paul is saying that the Man Made traditions he preached as a Pharisee are Fleshy, Not Spiritual.

2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Paul, before his conversion, followed the Commandments of Men, which are Fleshy, and therefore Jesus didn't "manifest" Himself to Saul. He was the "evil worker", a member of the concision.

Concision Greek; katatome= (to cut) a cutting down, mutilation.

This is speaking to the Mainstream Church of that time. Those who murdered innocent people in the name of their religion. Paul called them dogs.

If the religious traditions and "Commandments of Men" were the true Path to Christ then Paul, above many others, would have known Christ.

4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

As Paul told us, He was more Zealous of the "Traditions of His Fathers" and the "Jews Religions" that most. "A Hebrew of the Hebrews".

So if anyone would have reason to trust their Fleshy man made doctrines and commandments of men, it would be Paul.

But the religious Traditions of men caused him to "persecute the Church of God", above others, as it did to the Pharisees for centuries who murdered the Prophets for telling them the truth.

These religious traditions of men blinded him of the truth, while the obedience of Zechariahs allowed him to understand the truth.

Will you actually read and discuss this post, or will you once again deflect and change the subject?

what i'm looking for is either

"yes, he lists things that would justify confidence in the flesh"

or

"no, he means the opposite of what he actually says; the things he lists condemn his flesh rather than justify confidence in it"

you could even give a third response ((if you would actually respond))

"it's a mixed list, a couple things justify confidence, but the others damn him -- Paul is basically confused and lying as he writes this letter"

as I said earlier. house of cards theology. you move one part a fraction of an inch, the whole thing falls.

that is why questions cannot be straightforward answered.

Do you think that identifying the false god in the New Testament is a good topic for Christians to discuss?

rightly or wrongly, there is no arbiter here on cc.

So anyone can write some words and say they've answered a question,

Or post an opinion and a Bible passage and say that the passage supports their opinion.

You are trying to further an insidious lie about Saul, and the Pharisees in general. And that is that they were trying to "earn" Salvation by following God's Laws. This lie is very popular with many of your friends, but the Bible exposes it as a lie just the same.

This lie is the foundation of your question, therefore, only a lie will answer it.

Since I believe and understand the Truth that Jesus gave me, which is the Pharisees, including Saul, were not following God's Laws, rather, they were teaching for Doctrines the Commandments of men, I can't give you the lie you want for your answer.

You can reject the Word's of the Christ, and His apostles and Prophets to protect your religious traditions of you want. But I'm not going to reject them just so you and preserve your lie.

I answered your question with the truth of the Bible. You either believe in the Jesus of the Bible or you don't.
