So the belief that some are saying is that the disciples were preaching to trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins when they didn't even know or understand any of it? Please show me where they taught the death, burial and resurrection for forgiveness of sins.

Someone answer, what did the disciples preach?
Why are you trying to narrow down the first band of disciples Jesus sent to preach prior to His crucifixion as not having a relation to The Gospel of Jesus Christ? That's what you're trying to do, but it won't work.

Matt 10:5-7
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
KJV

That's what He told them to do prior to His crucifixion, i.e, preach that "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." Notice that did NOT say preach 'the gospel of the kingdom', but "The kingdom of heaven", which is ALL INCLUSIVE, not just some little Israelite flesh kingdom on earth!

What does "the kingdom of heaven is at hand" mean?
It means the same Gospel Salvation that Apostle Paul preached later, as it's about Christ's future Kingdom that will begin to be established at His 2nd coming.

Gospel in the general sense means 'good news'.

Abraham had good news given him when he was promised a son, seed and sand (land).
He was justified when he believed that good news.

From the time of Jesus ministry to the time of His rejection by the Jews (around Mt 12) the good news was that the King is here prepare your hearts but they, for the most part rejected the King and thus the Kingdom.

Today since the death of Christ we too are given a promise e.g. John 3:16 and are justified when we believe that good news.
Paul summed up the Gospel (in today's specific sense) since the cross...

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJVS
[1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

In response to the title of this OP, the draw that is, according to Paul there is but One Godpel, that being the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Paul has no gospel to preach.

From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”
Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.
(Matthew 16:21-23)

His disciples may not have fully understood the kingdom that He sent them to preach, but He did not deceive them into thinking that He would at that time rule as an earthly king.
when they sought to make Him king by force, He went away from them. He told them many times that He would go to His death - and resurrection. He told them to preach repentance and that the kingdom was at hand. He said that His kingdom was not of this world.

Here, Peter - probably thinking still that it was an earthly kingdom - was rebuked by the Lord for having '
merely human concerns' about His kingdom.
so an earthly, worldly kingdom is not the kingdom that He preached, nor the kingdom that He sent His apostles to preach, nor the kingdom that Paul and the other apostles later preached, when their understanding was opened by the Spirit. what was hidden was brought to light. what is being described here in this thread as 'a different kingdom' is described by Christ as '
a stumbling block.'

it seems to me like this thread is comparing a misunderstanding - a 'merely human concern' - with the true kingdom of heaven - which is the kingdom of God, and is now revealed to us, just as it was revealed to His disciples after the Spirit fell on them and continued in them, and they in the Spirit.
we, like they, now wait for Him to return in power with His angels. the kingdom is now at hand; the kingdom is within us, and the King will return to judge the world in accord with how the world has received Him. at that time He will sit on the throne - even as He sits now on the throne in heaven, waiting for all His enemies to be brought under His feet.

Actually, the stance the OP is coming from is of those like C.R. Stam with the double gospel heresy based on John Darby's Dispensationalism.

Darby's creation of the pre-trib rapture caused a conflict with Scripture about Christ's future reign on earth, with His saints and the restoration of the kingdom of Israel on earth.

Some of these cats believe the Church stays in heaven with Jesus while He continues to reign from heaven over the kingdom of Israel and the nations on earth established during the Millennium. It's then they think the Jews will be saved, and thus one gospel for the Church and another gospel for Israel.

But it's all just a theory from Darby's Dispensationalist idea trying to drum up more support for his pre-trib rapture theory.

There is one gospel that saves the soul for eternity and that is the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. There is not one disciple that went around preaching that Jesus was going to die on the cross and resurrect the third day, not one. More than one gospel doesn't mean there's more than one way of salvation, merely, there's more than one "good news" message.

It was good news to the nation of Israel that the King has arrived. It was good news to the nation of Israel that the promised kingdom was at hand. Little did they know that first, the king would have to die for their sins before they could he could give them the kingdom. The disciples did not know anything of the d,b,r. They thought it as an "idle tale." God hid this from them and the whole world so Christ could fulfill Scripture (1 Cor. 2:6-8). The ruler of this world, Satan, would have not initiated the cross if he knew the outcome was victory. Ever since Genesis 3:15, he's been out to destroy the "promised seed" of the woman.

Romans 16:25-26, "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith." The gospel of Jesus Christ that was a mystery from the beginning of the world but now it's made manifest. The disciples to not preach the same thing Paul preached I'm sorry.

If I might ask you 1 question john146, it would be: "Are YOU a warrior for, or against the Kingdom of God?"
Come on brother, I'm for the kingdom of God, the spiritual kingdom that's made up of the Church, the body of Christ. I just want people to see that there is a promised physical kingdom where Jesus will be King, the kingdom of heaven, where "they kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

There is one sacrifice for all,JESUS.

THATsacrifice, and resurrection is for JEWS and GENTILES.

The message to the Jews is different than the message to the gentiles.
The Jews are told messiah has come, and the PRIESTHOOD has changed, along with the earthly throne.

THUS THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO THE JEWS

The gentile message is "GRAFT". IOW,we are grafted in,or have become descendants of Abraham.
We are now FAMILY,JOINT HEIRS,GRAFTED IN,INCLUDED.

that is why there are 2 messages but one way,JESUS.

Paul probably wrote Hebrews. It specifically ties in the old priesthood as types and shadows,to the new priesthood.

One good news, told different,to two different groups. (2 gospels, but 1 and the same savior)

Lol well I guess a real literalist could make the case that there is not 2 gospels, but rather 4 Gospels lol, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Though it's one Gospel still at the same time because they all talk about Jesus. Paul's writings too for point of the topic. The crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension all prove Jesus is Christ. Proves many wonderful things, but what strikes me most is God the Father is loving and save Jesus and is forgiving and loves man. Like this topic covering the different Bible verses and letters and the Gospels and even the OT. Sermon on Mount good one making me think. For me as alluded the forgiving the enemies verses and people that hate you or try to use you and such. God is good, praise Jesus may we all be loved and love.

Even with good intentions, there's no way to make those things into a dual-gospel idea that Hyper-Dispensationalism has done, which includes trying to separate Paul's Epistles from the rest of God's Word.

The "gospel of the kingdom" is the same Gospel of Jesus Christ, just as the Gospel which Apostle Paul preached was the same Gospel which Jesus and all the Apostles preached. The four Gospel Books are for every... Christian regardless of nationality, as is all of God's Word, like Apostle Paul taught:

2 Tim 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Hyper-dispensationalists only read Paul and ignore the rest. Dispensationalists believe that God has revealed His truth to mankind gradually over the course of human history and not all at once.

So, by your statement, the disciples went around telling the nation of Israel to believe in the "death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ," even though it hadn't happened yet, and they had absolutely no understanding about it. That did not know anything about it, furthermore, they thought the resurrection was an "idle tale."

Somebody please explain what "the kingdom of heaven is at hand" means? None of you who disagree with what I've been try to say have answered that question. Would you say it's the preaching of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins?

God revealing His Salvation Plan over time is not only... what Darby's Dispensationalism is about. You're hiding other information about that theory.

One is the false Church Ages theories. Another is a false teaching about the kingdom of Israel established on the earth while the Church is in Heaven ruling with Jesus. And now, with man's Hyper-Dispensationalism ideas, only the Epistles of Paul are claimed as belonging to the Church while the rest of God's Word is supposed to only be for Israel, which again is very... false.

I've never studied anything from Darby. I believe the Church returns with her husbandman to reign on the earth.

Just so you know brethren, what John146 is hiding about the theory of Hyper-Dispensationalism which he is preaching here...

They basically only recognize Apostle Paul's Epistles as being for Christ's Church, with the rest of The Bible meant only for Israel. That is simply just another deeper level of men's doctrines with its main purpose to support the false pre-trib rapture theory which Darby also preached in 1830's Great Britain, having gotten the idea from the Edward Irving church and twistings on Margaret McDonald's Scripture mumblings when she was in bed sick.

Although a pre-trib rapture theory can be disproved even in Apostle Paul's Epistles, they still seek to narrow any direct statements against it, like with our Lord Jesus telling His disciples upon the Mount of Olives in Matt.24 and Mark 13 about the day of His return and gathering of His Church AFTER... the tribulation. "Oh, that's only meant for Jews," they will say. "We only need to heed what Apostle Paul taught," they will say.

Well... not only Hyper-Dispensationalists, but most traditional Dispensationalists also refuse our Lord Jesus' revealing there in His Olivet Discourse about His coming to gather His Church after... the "great tribulation" He forewarned us about. All the pre-trib rapture traditions refuse to recognize that Matt.24:29-31 and Mark 13:24-27 Scripture being for Christ's Church. And that is just ONE example of many Scripture outside Paul's Epistles they refuse to recognize involving Christ's Church.

But then they will... use what Apostle John said in John 14 about Christ preparing the "many mansions" being for the Church, showing us how they are hypocrites seeking gain (filthy lucre). American Indians would call that speaking with a "forked tongue". They aren't serious about what God's Word says, they instead are serious about creating for themselves positions of authority over other brethren, and great publishing houses like they wanted their Berean Bible Society thingy to evolve to, putting money in their pockets! (see history of that involving C.R. Stam, et al).

Thus I have added yet another to my Ignore List...
