I agree with you that we do not need to misrepresent the finished work of Jesus Christ, with that I believe that we need not misrepresent the view of others on what they believe about the finished work of Christ. My brother you have broke the ninth commandment more then once, Exodus 20:16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” with Reformed and Calvinist brothers and sisters when it comes to there appliction on the finished work of Christ, in the Doctrines of Grace and monergism. Philippians 1:3-7
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy,5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;7 just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace.”
Reformed and Calvinist believe that the Father is the one that has begun that good work in a believer. In His monergistic work of causing a sinner to be born again I Peter 1:3-5
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
Here is the answer to the question of how the kingdom is revealed to those that cannot see it, as Jesus stated in John 3:3
“Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
These nexted verse will be quoted from a book called "The Five Points of Calvinism: Defined, Defended and Documented" I got tired of hearing what people that did not know what they were talking about when it came to Reformed/Calvinism dotrine that I decided to get a book written by Reformed/Calvinist writers to understand what they really believe and not what people say they believe. I used to be one of those people that said what I thought the Reformed/Calvinist believed, I repeated what I heard from others that thought just like me abouth the Doctrines of Grace. Here are the Scripture they use to show what they believe about the response of those that are given life by the Spirit and granted repentance by the Father.
Luke 8:10 “he said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’”
Luke 10:21 “In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.”
Matthew 11:27 “All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
Philippians 1:29 “For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,”
Not only does the Father begin the work or reveal the kingdom, He completes it as well. Because of this some believe that this mean that Reformed/Calvinist do not believe that one needs to repent, when that is not true. The sign that a person is called and one of the elect is that they repent.
Acts 11:18 “When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”
Acts 13:47-48 “For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.”
Ephesians 1:13 “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,”
