My wife believes that Health is Wealth. A person would give all of their wealth in order to have good health. The question centers more on prosperity and how do we define Bible Prosperity. Even the NIV wants to use this word in Jeremiah 29:16 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

We are told in Psalm 139:16 that God writes the book of our life before we are even born. Every chapter and every verse. So that God's desire for us is written in a book that the Angels can read to help us to become the person God wants and intends for us to be. Does God want us to prosper and to be in good health? How can we understand Moses when he tells us that God's desire is for us to prosper? Again this is the NIV word because the KJV says: "See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;" Perhaps like Eve in the Garden we choose between good and evil in life.

"But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it. See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, as well as death and disaster. For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess" (Deuteronomy 30:14,15,16)

Did you quote the wrong verse?

Jeremiah 29:16
but this is what the LORD says about the king who sits on David's throne and all the people who remain in this city, your fellow citizens who did not go with you into exile

Is there anything more destructive to someone who is on the streets than being labeled as 'ignorant' and 'unstable' ?

The promises to Israel were typological. They were a weaker type of the reality.

It isn't long life in the land that God promises the believer; it is eternal life in the New Heavens/New Earth.

Dispensationalists might not like my interpretation as they claim such things are "spiritualizing" but it's obvious it's true.

The believer who suffers in hope from cerebral palsy, etcetera, is preparing for a greater weight of glory. Same for any other believer who suffers in hope.

I would read Hebrews 11, James 1, etcetera.

Those Health, Wealth, Prosperity guys are simply false teachers. And, if they don't repent, they will suffer eternal punishment.

The version of bible you are referencing Deuteronomy from has an uncertain sound. The KJV says; I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. "life" in this scripture has reference to that "good and abundant life" that we can enjoy, if we will follow God's commandments. "death" has reference to non-fellowship with God. It does not have reference to eternal life, and death in hell. All scriptures must harmonize in order to understand the truth. Other scriptures teach that prospering with worldly things and money brings no joy and peace with it.

Rev 3:18
I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.
Your post would have been more complete if you had included verse 17 with it.

I was in a hurry and just grabbed any tranlation. Good & Evil are the same basic Hebrew words used in reference to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. There is a slight variation. The first letter הַ represents Hey or behold. This represents someone with their head up and their hands waving in the air. This letter is added to the word in the Deut passage. The tree did not draw attention to itself in this way.

It is not our job to separate the wheat from the chaff. That is up to the angels at the end of the era. "‘No,’ he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.’” (Matthew 13:29,30) I have attended churches like that but I am often under a gag order. I am told just to sit there and listen and keep my mouth shut. They do not like the questions that I ask. They do not like people to point out the error in what they are saying. Even though we are told: "reprove a wise man, and he will love you." (Proverb9:8)

False teachers and charlatans. Self-affirming false apostles and false prophets.

Beware.

Anyone else want to add to the list?

At the same time, I know the gullible will largely keep on being deceived by them.

I suppose it's easy for some religious nuts to accuse others of being false teachers, and the like, without any scriptural proof.
I prefer to use the scriptures in the bible to speak truth.
You on the other hand have used nothing in the bible to argue your point.
Show me, if I am such a false teacher, where I perverted scripture in my last post.
"And, if they don't repent, they will suffer eternal punishment." SERIOUSLY? WHAT A JOKE!!!
Quoting scripture, and believing what is written, as it is written, is now an unpardonable sin if we don't repent of our wicked sinful ways?
Where do you people come up with this garbage?
i can make dumb assertions without any scriptural backing, as well, but then I would be corrupt and wicked as well.
You want to prove a point, LET'S TALK SCRIPTURE.

I don't think any discerning Christians would affirm the soundness of the above individuals. Pentecostals/ Charismatics/Word of Faith individuals are about the only ones who affirm these sorts of guys.

I don't even need to argue the point.

Usually people are guilty of what they accuse others of. So you may want to look in a mirror if you are pointing fingers.
Watch the Pentecostals/Word of Faith/charismatics come out in full force protecting these heretics.

Did you know Todd Bentley has been trying to pay young men for sex acts? Yet, charismatics have been protecting him until recently....and I think the only reason for that is due to uproars in the non-charismatic camp.

Joyce Meyer

By the way..here's a good example of this nonsense...she claims Jesus went to hell after the Cross and Satan/the demons hopped on his back and were beating the crap out of him.

What was her source?

A revelation.

Copeland believes something similar..so do most Word of Faithers.

And, they claim Jesus was "born again" in hell.

Crazy.

He said on the Cross..it is FINISHED. He didn't need to go to hell and be beaten by demons.

Yet, gullible people will still believe these guys and their nonsense.
