The answer to marriage problems between Christians and, in fact, any other type of problem that the Believer might have, is found exclusively in Christ and the Cross.

Most may wonder as to how our Faith in Christ and what He did for us at the Cross can have a bearing on marriage problems? The answer is simple; it is the Holy Spirit Who makes the difference (Romans 8:2).

That is a good message though. The fruit of the Spirit. :)

A marriage is a yoke.

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" (II Corinthians 6:14).

There is no way to fully emphasize the fact that believers are commanded in Scripture NOT to marry unbelievers.

But in the case of being yoked . . . just consider the horses that are working together to plow a field. They are both wearing blinders.

The thing about blinders is that the horse can only look forward - and do not know that there is something on his side, for if he did know, he would be biting and fighting the other horse. Rather, the two horses are looking forward and working together.

When a husband and a wife clearly set their sights on the Lord and see His perfect plan for their lives, they don't have time to nitpick and find fault with one another.

Yes, it is possible to improve a marriage . . . a marriage that God can bless.

Nah, Duck Tape ain't nothing like it used to be. There was a time when you got taped with that stuff you couldn't get it off. Super glue on wax!

Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together. ;)

It used to be a true saying that you can fix anything with duck tape . . . now it peels off after about fifteen minutes. Don't let it get warm or wet - it'll come off even quicker.

“THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HOW HE WORKS

Every husband and every wife should conduct themselves with an attitude of placing their mate first. This is the opposite of selfishness, and is the Christlike spirit. And one can do that, if one has the help of the Holy Spirit.

All too often, we place the Holy Spirit in a position that is totally divorced from needs such as problems which arise in a marriage. But please understand the Holy Spirit is given to us as our constant, ever abiding Helper. In fact, He is referred to by Christ as the “Comforter,” which in the Greek means “Parakletos,” which means “One called to the side of another to help” (Jn. 14:16). The help He provides covers every avenue of our needs, including marriages. In fact, one might say that the Holy Spirit is the greatest marriage counselor of them all. But His Help is predicated solely on our Faith in Christ and the Cross. That is what gives Him the legal right to do all the things that He does. It only remains for the Believer to place his faith exclusively in Christ, and what Christ has done for us at the Cross, and do so on a daily basis (Luke 9:23).

“Considering that, and obeying the command of our Lord, a marriage can be strengthened and even restored. In fact, this is the only way that it can truly be restored.”

MoTC, it would be great if you shared your own thoughts instead of constantly quoting others.

Every husband and every wife should conduct themselves with an attitude of placing their mate first
While I wouldn't want to argue with Reverend Swaggart seeing he is a master debater, I would simply suggest that every husband and every wife conduct themselves with the Holy Ghost (Christ) first, seeing that the Holy Ghost (Spirit and Word) represents the unity in one symbolized by the marriage of the man(male or female) with their help mate (spouse) being one flesh.

A Godly marriage, one that follows His plan for it's success, is for each partner to behave as if they are one. That one that they become is a marriage. The marriage becomes more important than wither of them.
