So what I said was on topic, as it pertained to your comment above contained in the OP. :)

Sorry but that is NOT the OP...the questions were given in post #2 if you want to review them again and give us your opinion. Your opinion has worth just like the rest of us. Thank you.

It can help onlookers decipher if the person in question is indeed a heretic or not. Just as those hunters can be in error and saved, so can the person being called out.. Hunters whether they realize it or not are teaching, they should for themselves know and be sure bc their words are not overlooked by God.. Teachers have high accountability

Are you really only 16? Wow - you have a calling on your life.
She's really something, isn't she?!
And she so often has to hear it in one way or another.

So many times she's had to hear, 'Ahhh, you're only 16, what do you know?' or else she hears, 'Gosh, you're only 16?! You're so so knowledgeable for someone so young!'

(I WOULD say, 'Poor thing, she must get tired of hearing about her age', but she'd probly beat me up.) Lol
(Yeah, she's that tough, too! :p )

But God bless her. And we are blessed to have a quite a few very solid young believers on this site, ... Demi777 being one right at the top of that list.

Amen to your comment and GBU, Joidevivre.

Yep, that comment was on part 2 of the 2 page OP, see---->>>
This will be a 2 post OP. This 1st one is to set up the premise and then 2nd one is to ask questions to see how we are to view this subject.

There are lot's of self-proclaimed heretic hunters on the internet. To them everyone is a heretic.
By the way, I view your premise above as faulty, because I don't believe they think "everyone is a heretic". Just sayin :)

But, we'll figure it out.

(sorry to sidetrack the thread, but ya gotta watch the PM thing.
It's an AGE appropriate issue thing ..... she's ONLY 16 !!! Lol !!! )

The purpose of this OP is to see how we are to view all the people that are supposedly heretics to someone or to some group.

For example to those that believe in speaking in tongues and actually do pray in tongues on a daily basis to their Father - they have been called heretics by whole denominations because they don't agree with this doctrine.

This will be a 2 post OP. This 1st one is to set up the premise and then 2nd one is to ask questions to see how we are to view this subject.

There are lot's of self-proclaimed heretic hunters on the internet. To them everyone is a heretic.

There are websites dedicated to the heretic Billy Graham, Billy Sunday, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Stanley, D.L. Moody, C.S. Lewis, John McArthur, Paul Washer, Joseph Prince, Dr. Michael Brown, Justin Peters, Bill Johnson, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Andrew Wommack...etc..basically anyone who is known has a website dedicated to their "heresies".

There are even websites dedicated to the heretic apostle Paul because his epistles "conflict" with some of Jesus' words.

Basically these self-proclaimed heretic hunters have a beef about some thing with what someone else believes and so they are now "heretics".

Their motto is: "If people don't believe some scriptures in the way that"they"do - they are heretics and they try to prove it with "their" version of what the scriptures say.."
This is not what we were taught in "my" church or in our whole church tradition.

It's the nature of the beast. Martin Luther was a heretic to the catholic church at the time because for 1100 years prior to Luther they had always "believed" the same way.

Where these types cross the line is when they turn a disagreement that they have with someone doctrinally on a secondary issue and turn it into "So and so is a false teacher and they are in error and a heretic/satanist/controlled by a demon" type stuff.
As you already know, my brother, I don't really spend time dealing with heretics or heretic hunters unless they're one of our fly-by Catholic trolls trying to get a few jabs in before getting the boot. My bread n butter is slaying Pharisees. That and slow drivers in the fast lane.

No way, bro. Think of it as an involuntary muscle that automatically works without our having to think about it. That's how it is with me taking down liberals; the fight will always go on. Lol.

Another thing to look for on a website that claims to "out" various false teachers is to not only look at WHAT the author is presenting as evidence, but also HOW the material is being presented.

IOW, many "heresy" websites have all kinds of flashy graphics, pictures, big fonts (underlined and italicized) and ALL CAPS.

OTOH, most reputable sites which expose false teachers are a lot more subdued and concise in their presentations. :)

I agree...that does seem to be the case in that they do have all kinds of graphics like putting devil outfits on them and wolf heads and also the evil morose music that re-inforces" how deadly these supposed "heretics" are.

There are other ones that are more subdued as you suggested - perhaps they have a different personality and also like to present their "opinions" in a different manner which to me makes them look more credible but even these types still need to be viewed through some kind of a filter because I don't think that just because they have a quieter and more thorough way of presenting what they believe - this constitutes them calling others a heretic because they differ in a view of a subject nor does it mean necessarily that their view is correct either.

We really need the Holy Spirit to reveal the things of God and the work of the Lord Jesus Christ to us. We are at His mercy when it comes to this area because all truth is spiritually discerned.

What do you think?

When you look at the websites that condemn Billy Graham - some of them are well written but the bottom line is that they still do not agree with a subject that Graham has talked about and so he is a "heretic" to them.
