No denomination is 100% right. I find important that the basic doctrine is right and gods word is treatet as gods word.
The denomination I am a member of is 100% correct doctrine; you just set your standards too low.

I am in the church of the living God where the doctrine is 100% correct.

As it says in the title, I am asking how do you know that your specific beliefs are leading you on a path to third-heaven? I don't ask this to start argument or debate but I'm very curious as to what makes you sure that your chosen church/denomination is the correct one to follow. Naturally I'd like to comment on every response to evoke more thought! I am 16 and very well-read. If/when quoting or citing scriptures please use the KJV (1611) version of the bible to keep everything mainstream and no mix up's in translations when I respond :D God Bless
I would think the way to know which is right is to go to the fellowship where you are led to.

Exo 20:22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

Heres a good rule of thumb...does God speak there from heaven.

Systematic Theology. Aka the theology runs throughout the Bible. This is versus pragmatic theology, metaphorical theology, or invent-your-own-wheel theology. (I know there's a better word for that last one, but can't think of it, and suspect it's going to take me more time then the final-round-theme-music from Jeopardy to come up with it. lol)

I have already chosen my own beliefs everyone :D please do not assume that because I am only 16 I am asking this question because I am searching. I posted because I am curious as to what others believe and why.
That's sad in itself. At 16, I was still figuring it all out.

At 61, I'm still figuring some out.

But you've already chosen.

That's pretty amazing.

I was 19 before I even figured out how stupid I was.

: )
Old axiom from my olden days --
At 18, I could not believe how stupid my parents were.
At 22, I couldn't figure out how they got smart so fast.
lol

Invent your own wheel theology....wouldn't that be taking trips to heaven based on Elijah's wheels?

;)

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Personally, I like the metaphorical theology. But, only some agreement there. So I base what I see on definitions. Not lofty interpretations.

lol

I'm nondenominational, so I'm relatively certain my denomination is right :).. The bible is right, Christ is right, organized religion? I'm content to try and align myself with the life, example, and teachings of Christ.. Its a lot less confusing, and its free.

I guess the best way to size-up any specific denomination, is to compare its doctrine to the bible. They should preach/teach directly from the bible. If they add their own books or prophets, odds are they're spinning a man made tale.

There are thousands of different Christian denominations, but Jesus brought a singular Truth, he didn't invent multiple variations.

How could earth be empty in the verse 2 when it was created in the verse 10?
I think you will find that, in verse 10, it was given a name.... not created.

Because I go to a non denominational church..lol

seriously though. Any denomination that teaches the one true gospel is right and can help lead you to the third heaven. Just because they may not worship the same, or have every doctrinal belief the same does not mean they are a false church.

This whole 'third heaven' thing may warrant its own thread. However, why start a new thread when you can derail an existing one!

Paul wrote of 'a man' (likely himself) who saw the third heaven, and saw things of which he was not permitted to speak. I've heard that the 'third heaven' was simply 'heaven' - the realm of God (the first is the atmosphere, the second is outer space).

I also thought that, in Christ, we don't get to go to the third heaven, but we do get to live on the new Earth. I'll have to check Revelation when I have a few minutes.

sounds good to me either way....... btw i like ur style bro...... just derail the existing one. this one was probably a troll thread anyway. the question seems to hold within it an answer. and the answer is our denominations suck and his is right :D
