I just pointed out that you were pointing fingers at us in here, anyone ever told you when you point a finger at someone. to look you have three pointing back at you, which you will fit in very nice in here, you off to a good start. but see if you go to church looking for faults, you will find them, if you go to the same church looking for God you will find Him. so did you come in looking for our good qualities in here or our faults , and now you want to try and pick a fight with me, good Christian attitude, dude. and again I say u will fit in very nice here, welcome abroad take it any way you want. If you don't like it in here don't let the door hit you on your way out, But I see the good in here, concern over the truth in here. I see when people need it, people stop debating and start praying. and people when they allow the flesh to raise up from time to time, they ask for forgiveness, with each other, although most folks would rather have me exit the same way I came in. I feel like part of the family, so when you attack the family you attack me.

Php 4:7And the PEACE of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ JESUS.

Hey Thaddaeus,

Is it an attack when one member of the family calls the family to be more Christ-like though? We are called to "correct, rebuke and encourage", but we do need to be reminded sometimes that our words and actions should point not just back at ourselves... but at Christ who is our Lord. I understand your feeling protective of family, but SoulSearch is family too ;)

...and you are cranky sometimes. So am I. It comes from being human and all falling short of God's glory.

I'd hope that someone corrects and rebukes me (with love) when I do not represent Christ with my words , thoughts and deeds.

Oh Thaddaeus,

Where do you pastor by the way? And do you use the internet or forum for small group discussions or inter-church networking? Just curious.

hi soul search,

i absolutely agree to your point of view. some inputs and opinions here do sound striking and considerably good to some measure, but if we take a thorough glance neath the phrases, they bring more confusion to a new(babe) believer. but we cannot filter every ideology written here.

alicia is right, dont let your heart be troubled. pray! we pray for spirit wisdom and discernment to know the truth of God's word. There are many people in this chatroom who intercedes for each other, for other people in all nations as well. im sure u are counted one of them.

we claim by faith that the covering of the blood of Jesus will keep us from falling into the trap of the evil one.(deceiving opinions and ideas)

i appreciate your posting this topic, i hope this could or would help people refrain from giving remarks that doesnt serve good (just for the heck of it, so to say)

sincerely,
mariwasa

Good afternoon, RoboOp. You are absolutely right - it certainly is not all bad. I have already corresponded with some seemingly good folks. Please understand, I enjoy a hearty debate as much as anyone. I do believe that opposing positions that challenge us to search the scriptures more diligently is very healthy for our faith. My concern was HOW some of the "debates" were going. Since you asked - and only because you asked - I will give you one example. In the thread titled BIBLE TRANSLATIONS - by Lynn - read the first comment by an alleged Pastor. I trust that will be sufficient to illustrate my point. Thanks for your input. In His Grace!
Yah we're certainly not unaware of those things, and we do sometimes privately talk to people about how they address others in the forum here. We can't control everything, every attitude, etc., but we try to have some standards, and maybe say something to people when they go too far, and in extreme cases we ban.

The forum is more of an outlet for debate (though it's not meant just for debate). I think you'll find less debate and more actually "fellowship" in the chat rooms.

and if you had followed up on this thread you would saw that I apologized, to Lynn for saying that. and that I didn't mean she was mixed up and messed up by rather her thinking toward to Word of God, and she very graceful accepted my apology. so I suppose you are one that have never misspoke or ever made an error yourself. again welcome abroad.

Hey welcome to CC. I am new here as well, and I have noticed the same. People are trying to push their idea on others by using the most scripture so they feel bigger, but it does nothing rarely will it change anyone's view because of sides will have scripture to back up whatever claim (sometimes it's vague though). What we should be focusing on though is those who's minds we can change through God the unsaved (only God can change their heart but we can plant seeds). Seriously people is there a family member, friend, co-worker that if they died today would go to hell? Are you ok with that?

Sorry, what was the dissapointmen?

Like I just posted a couple days ago, people on this site call themselves Christians, but If a visitor was to skim thru some things on this site that have been said they would not have a very good outlook of Christians in general. If you claim to be a Christian act like it,don't just say it.

I don't know how a Christian should "act". I say don't act. Be yourself. If you are an angry person, be angry. If you are happy, be happy. Christians are human. Christians aren't perfect. Christians are not expected to be clap happy smile on your face people never say peek a boo. Don't mistake boldness for arrogance. I try not to.
