I just wish people can just stop posting threads condemning other religions (such as Catholics, Mormons, etc) and be loving examples of Jesus Christ.

One thing is I am diagnosed with Autism (Asperger's Syndrome) and me and my entire family are Catholic and I am born and raised in a Catholic home. I have a very hard time with communication and I have outbursts especially if people are condemning Catholics.

I do find it very disturbing to see that especially when God commands us to love your neighbor no matter what church they belong to. All these Anti-Catholic threads goes against God's commandment of loving thy neighbor. Everyone around us are our neighbors including those who are Catholic.

I'm catholic too, and thats why I stay out of this bible discussion forum. I've even complained to mods about some of the stuff people have posted regarding catholicism and it just gets ignored. I suggest avoiding this particular forum unless you want to try your patience or try defending the faith as a few unbelievably tireless catholics do on here. God bless them! I've decided its not worth it for me to try and reason with folks who don't even want to listen. I get very upset too when I see some of the things they say. Its even more upsetting because I had to explain our faith to a couple of young catholic who asked me if the things they are saying is true. It is putting doubts in their minds and both of those young people came from catholic families who have been with the church all their lives. Its really upsetting and dispicable the way some people attack our faith. I've been told I should pray for them, but they offend me too much. Its one thing to ask questions about our faith and give us a chance to explain, but its another thing when people just come out slinging mud in our faces, calling us names and desecrating our faith without even listening to what we have to say.

sorry people keep bashing Catholics. I know I and most of the others on here still consider Catholics as brothers and sisters in Christ. Don't let the loud obnoxious ones make you think they are speaking for everyone and always remember God Loves you and that is what is really important. :)

I wish those post would go away too, but everyone is still posting, including Catholics. Maybe we can move on and talk about something else.

Well we will always continue to pray. Also, i like to defend my faith in this forum. I learn quite a bit and i am growing much stronger in my faith. however i don't necessarily post with the intention of changing the hearts of those who start the threads. Their hearts are closed. I post in defense and for those countless people who come accross this site and do not know any better. That they might know the truth behind what we believe. AMDG.

Telling the truth IS loving your neighbor. Hatred would allow a person in damnable heresy to go into eternity unchallenged and therefore lost.

If you does not receive the love of the truth God will allow them to be deceived. To love truth is to love the Lord.... Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Catholicism is the apostasy the Apostles warned about. Mormonism is a cult that teaches major error on Jesus among other things.

That line about telling the truth out of love is used alot...when its nothing more than selfrighteous license
Jesus taught us to show mercy. And taught us to be tender. Dialogue is fine. Discussions are great, ive had plenty
with Catholic friends and have been taken to their churches and have had wonderful loving times. But to look at the thread
names on the forums dripping with provocative insulting titles is noway speaking out of Love. And will attract noone to your
socalled truth. Some bash their kids and call it toughlove. I call it stupid and evil.

Exactly. People would do well to remember the old saying, "you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar"

How do you know Catholics and Mormons are not saved? Do you think everyone in your church is saved? You do not know the heart and mind of anyone so what entitles you to judge them that they are not saved?

Yes, I think we are supposed to love each other.

Compromise is not biblical unity. We are supposed to stand for truth. Saying we are just supposed to all get along, and love one another no matter if others are seeped in false hood is false unity and compromise.

I was brought up Catholic. Then I found out that a LOT of what they teach does NOT line up with God's written word!! I was not a happy camper. However...if we want to KNOW God and be close to Him, we must do what His Word says to do! Sadly, that DOES mean leaving the 'orgainization' of the RCC. The Biblical Church is composed of every BORN AGAIN believer. It is THAT church that will go to heaven...not some denominational vent who claims THEY are the correct church. The Bible says the "church' is composed of ALL believers, born again, regardless of the name of the local congregation they attend. This is VERY important!! And it is also WHY many of us in this group, repeatedly try to show errors of the RCC. You have to ask yourself..."do I want to be a part of God's TRUE church...the believing, BODY of Christ which is composed of people from all countries and nationalities, but that are UNITED in Christ and a part of His Living Body? Or do I want to be a part of a governmental organization that repeatedly defies God's written word?

The Choice is yours. Scripture says you MUST be born again in order to see the Kingdom of Heaven. ANYONE can become born again, per scripture.

i understand ,nobody likes to feel condemned , i'm not catholic but i know what it feels like... in fact that's what made me be an atheist for a while until the day God rescued me and showed me He wasnt what i thought He was. i dont believe Mary is to be worshipped ,that the dead can intercede for us and all but i believe God only knows our heart and if there's room for Him there ...He eventually will call us and use us ...His way. God bless you :)

Acts 2:1
(1) And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:42
(42) And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Acts 2:46
(46) And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Ephesians 4:13
(13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Revelation 14:12
(12) Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

I was doing a study on the end times and I read that believers would be deceived. I kept thinking how could a lifelong Christian be deceived? For months and throughout the entire bible study I kept thinking, "why would they be deceived? ... how would they be deceived?"

The answer is that we don't really know what we believe.
The answer is we don't know God's word. (Scripture!)
The answer is we don't "check" what others say against God's word to make sure people are telling the truth. (Checking context and content.)
The answer is we get offended when another believer "sharpens" us or tells us the truth.
The answer is we go on feelings and instead of "doing the work" and "collecting" our own "manna".

I watch close Christian friends "consuming" messages from TV show evangelists, believing every word that comes out of their mouths, never checking them for truth, context or content.

I don't want to be deceived. I check everything for myself. I read threads on things I find distasteful because I want to be armed for battle so that I will have the tools/weapons God wants me to have so that when he wants me to "speak up" and say something I will do it with love, tact and wisdom.

I agree sometimes delivery is harsh but remember God used Peter a rough fisherman... When I get offended at something I'm reading or hearing I say to God, "help me to see what you are saying and want me to learn and help me to see the lies..."

By nature I avoid conflict and I too thought "why can't we Christians just get along.... it's embarrassing that we are fighting in front of the world..." But lets look at Paul's pattern and practice. Basically everywhere he went, he would go to the temple and started a "religious duel/fight" often ending up in jail or being run out of town... Why? because he was pointing out the truth.

Let's not "muffle" people we don't agree with by letting our feelings get into the way... Let's ask God for wisdom and discernment to teach us and feed us the meat that we will need to be the effective warriors that he has called us to be. Remember Satan wants us to get "hurt". He doesn't want us to learn. He wants us to go on feelings and most of all he wants to divide us and have us fighting and/or "silencing" the truth.

I challenge all of us to allow God to sharpen us for battle and to recognize that Satan deceives and that we need to go to God for truth.

Perhaps you're the right one to ask this extremely simple question,
and all I am looking for is a very short and simple answer also.

I just have been curious and quite fascinated by this ...

Why does Catholicism have doctrines which are not from the Bible?
... and some are even against what the Bible says.

Does not this simplest of questions deserve a simple answer?
Please don't ask back ... what these doctrines might be.

The simplest answer is:

a. We don't accept Sola Scriptura

b. Our doctrines are not against the bible, they are simply against it when the bible is interpreted in the protestant fashion.

You can maturely debate a topic without bashing.

IF I disagree with someone I will say so. That isnt bashing.

I dont agree with Catholicism, and if I did I would be Catholic....but i will debate it and give reasons why I disagree with certain things. Doesnt mean I hate you or think you are going to Hell. Just means I interpret things differently.

I like to debate. I also like to debate with intelligent people. Not ones that bash and put others down. After all it's their soul. Not yours. Worry about your own beliefs before you condemn others.
