The gates of hell will not prevail against the Church (Matthew 16:18)----being against the Church is a spirit from the world---get involved in a good Church----don't worry about finding a perfect Church---when you get there it won't be perfect anymore...

Christ came to save sinners----some of the biggest sinners are in the Church---shouldn't be that way---must keep our eyes on Christ----Peter even fell--and he was most determined not to...

That's nothing---I know a guy who has a Church----one guy stole the money---did nasty stuff to him---another member just outright denied Christ----a man after His own heart was an adulterer and a murderer... (Judas) (Peter) (David)

no kidding

I could have written the post for you

you are transparent...which is better than being a sneaky hypocritical backstabbing liar

I can't help but think it is a series of incidences that cause you to say this

I'm sorry...
ya lots of stuff happened over period of time. Too numerous to mention honestly. I think what it boils down too is the church people aint my people. I'd rather hang out with people who are who they actually are.

There is no maybe about it. Ghandi was a sexual pervert who used his fame and position to give him access to young women.

I know this feeling exactly. In church sometimes you feel people are just behaving to
a set of rules and expectations. Odd that.

But among these people are people of truth, honesty and love. Because their Lord walks
this way, and calls us to go beyond the superficial or even just responding to what appears
everyday, but grasping what it means to love, to cry, to laugh, to be open and honest
about everything and everyone.

Until you have walked in other peoples shoes, you do not know their victories and defeats,
their strengths and weaknesses, so it is easy to just see everyone and lump them all together.
When we are closed off, shut people out, disappointed, it is not surprising everyone else appears
the same because we are doing the shutting out.

Just a thought. How does anybody know ghandis last thoughts on death bed? How do would we know Jesus didn't say to ghandi, today you will be with me in paradise? i'm not saying ghandi was visited by Jesus but how do we know? Just saying, it would be easier thinking in my mind that hitler went to hell, but its not my call. Gods ways and thoughts are so much higher than mine. it seems that those condemning people to hell have no idea what they are stating. Jesus had compassion on those, whipping Him, spitting on Him, mocking Him. He wasn't on the cross cursing them all to hell the way i see people do. Jesus knows hell is a horrible place where the skin melts off your face, and He had compassion for the people. Its so hard to be like Jesus, but its harder if we talk the way they do about others going to hell.

A lot of people sound the same to me as those shouting crucify him(Jesus). i hear them saying send them to hell, speaking of people they are condemning to hell.

BUt he was more Christ like than anyone in this forum is. He put his money where his mouth is.
But he was not saved.. So what did his efforts win him? Nothing..

i have no idea. But what I do know is this. Three worship pastors I served under cheated on their wives. One executive pastor that I knew cheated on his wife and embezzled money from the church. A tech director that I served under did time in federal prison for looking at kiddie porn. The current pastor treats his wife and people in general like pieces of crap. Who knows what's going on there now. Just glad I'm not part of it anymore.
Those hypocritical pastors tell you NOTHING AT ALL about Christ, and tell you EVERYTHING about those men. If that is what they are doing then you are 100% right, and it should upset you, that was the only thing that made Jesus upset too. Hypocritical religious men getting wealthy off the backs of people seeking God. There is nothing worse IMO. You can't take the actions of these clearly hypocritical men and apply it blindly to everyone that says they are Christian. "You will know them by there fruit". The system that is into the "God business" for profit without being taxed is 100% fraud in my opinion, and agree that is not what the church is. I am the church, the folks that gather in the building I call a home church that found out my wife and I were a little behind this season and came together to help us pay a few bills and get my sons a few extra things, are the church.

One of the biggest shocks to me after being reborn, and after a month of dragging my jaw on the floor realizing all this "Bible Jesus God stuff" was literally true, was realizing that most of what the world feeds us as "Christian" is not at all. The RCC, the Mormons, the JW's, the TV evangelist, and on and on. It amazed me that so many had come with a false gospel that does not save. It is true and I understand why you feel the way you do, it's sicking. You can't let that turn you from truth completely though, Jesus is REAL and is the ONLY way to reconciliation with God, the way we were created to be brother. The 90,000 Christians that lost there lives around the world this year are the real example of Jesus, and I agree that if we are truly in Christ we will strive to be more like Him, and when you see people doing the opposite then it is pretty clear His Spirit is not in them. There is a Truth, but only 1. Good luck brother, I pray He leads you through this trial stronger in Him on the other side.

well, I understand having lived through all of that

in the end, we find out who we are ourselves inside...and get ourselves anchored in the only One who does not disappoint

I'm not brushing aside what you say at all...I quite understand and quite personally

still, I am sorry cause I know the disappointment and how it feels to be so let down by people you held in esteem and thought were real...just one thing...be careful and don't let your heart get hard

I don't much care for church people either and some of them don't much care for me...haha...

still, God is the same...I have always liked this verse from Psalms

People, in every situation put your trust in God; pour out your heart before him; for God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8

I like where it says to pour out our hearts to God...everything...get it all out...yell if you have to...He knows

hugs in Jesus

who cares!

there are living people who need Jesus and won't reject Him...who cares about Gandhi or anyone like him

we don't need to discuss him or his demonic false god...he is where he is and no one is going to change a thing

yeah...that's what I think about it

live for Christ ... I think you missed what is actually going on in this thread...people hurt .. Gandhi helped no one but himself and I'm not going to exchange posts with you on the subject so whatever

I agree and understand your point. Gandhi was a sinner as fell just as short as we all do. No matter what you believe or how you behave compared to other men, the bottom line is that none of us can stand before a Holy God. I feel that I have had a tiny taste of His presents right after I was reborn and not only was I on my face , I had my my eyes squeezed closed as tight as possible and couldn't even relax them even a little bit, let alone even think about raising my head at all. Before a Holy God we are all falling impossibly short, and all our works are truly as filthy rags before Him. That is what makes Him so Great, the fact that even though this is the case, He still loved us enough to make a way to be reconciled to Him.

My point is only we ALL fall short and we ALL need Jesus to be reconciled to Him, praise our Lord He is so GREAT!!!

agreed

I don't know why people think they have to defend someone...we all fall or stand before God on our merits or not

people do have this Gandhi think lopsided though...but anyway

you can't change people from the outside in...and if fact, we can hardly change ourselves...I like what you said about being in God's presence...THAT is what changes us...I don't know how He does it other than by His Spirit...but just being with Him changes everything!

Good stuff!!

Sorry to start a thread so bluntly-----maybe need to discuss what Christ Himself meant----I personally believe there are two Churches (at least) on Earth----the Laodicean Church and the Philadelphian Church------one is lukewarm-----another is serving Christ and is promised to escape the Tribulation (Revelation 3:10)----------those that are lukewarm (no oil in there lamps) could be left for the Tribulation? ****whatever---Getting spit out of Christ's mouth sounds radical---any thoughts----I seeking to be "On Fire" and ready to go whether it's Rapture or Tribulation----taking the first bus out...
This is the thread subject..... it would be nice to talk about it, wouldn't it?
