The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. God doesn't mind if we have money, but doesn't want money to have us. We don't serve money, we serve God. There's a saying, don't love money and use people, love people and use money. I will take every dollar He wants to give me and use it to promote His Kingdom gladly. There are far too many Scriptures that show God desires good things for His children, but that we don't make them an idol. We don't point to the bling, but the One who blesses us with it. That being said, wealth also attracts people to know more about God. Solomon and the Queen of Sheba is a good example of this. There are many more of course.

And I get so tired of people who gossip and slander TV evangelists. Many of them use a good portion of that money to promote the gospel in other countries, while we sit back and watch them on our TVs. It's far too easy to criticize. And if you're not being criticized you should consider making more waves.

Being poor doesn't make you holy. Either does being rich. Jesus did. Now let's receive everything God has for us that we might be able to release everywhere He's calling us to.

Oh, my computer shut off, that's weird, so I couldn't edit my post, but I haven't seen anyone slander or gossip against TV evangelists in this current thread. I just brought that up because I see it so often in discussions like this. So, I hope no one takes offense at that. I noticed BananaPie's post, but it wasn't aimed at her, it only made me consider it in my reply.

I consider many are sick and tired of the exploiting that is taking place.

Many do not seek forgiveness and Repent, but seek an abundant life storing up treasure on earth and not in Heaven...

The message is lost if one seeks prosperity.

Would these people be smiling if they were asked to sell all they had?

Would they jet around the world blessing people if they did not gain so much riches from it?

I have listened to their message in the past and now it makes my stomach turn, the way they exploit the scriptures to have people give them money.

God tells us we are to work, work hard to provide for ourselves and our families. We are not to worship money, money is not evil, it's just what some people use it for that is. Money provides for us. If we can live a self proficient life, that's wonderful but we are told clearly by God we are to pay our taxes and be an example, not an example of lawlessness. It matters not whether we 'approve' of the government or not, we are to pay our tax, our insurance etc. If we are fortunate to have money, we are to keep what we need and this is where it gets dodgy! As we will often tell ourselves we need a bigger car, bigger house etc but in fact that is not a need, it is just a want. We are to use what God gives us in excess to our needs, to bless and help the less fortunate. There will always be those in society who need our help. I do not need a TV evangelist to pray for me, or 'heal' me, I certainley do not need to pay for the privilege! But sadly, these people pray on the vulnerable. Money is indeed the root of evil in our world but we can use ' our talents' wisely. Firstly though, we need align ourselves to Gods will regarding the way we live. This is the world in which we live, where God has placed us. If we are not self sufficient, then we will need to buy a house or rent a house.....or maybe we can be content to find a corner of a field a farmer will let us live on in our tent for free? But, by the laws of the land, we have no right to take what is not ours. We may not like it, but we are told clearly that we are to be 'law abiding'. Whether we like it or not. God Bless, <><

Oh i came to that understanding long ago, drop a ten pound note on the floor and it will lay there doing no harm to anyone..

I will be law abiding up until they interfere with Heavenly Fathers Law.

I often think of Daniel and how he refused the order of the king...

Peace and Blessings.

i'm walking home and no longer let myself be lead into temptation for money.

Free market. Consensual trade. The purpose of these things is non-coercion.

What does this even mean? It's a load of nonsense. You're trying to apply personality to a system to make it seem bad, when really there isn't a personality, it's a system. It's like calling a rock "happy".

Idiots who don't understand economics shouldn't dabble in economics.

It's because of the free market people are able to work, DRIVE home, watch T.V., surf the internet, and sleep in a warm or cooled home according to their preference.

"I'm too good to speak proper English." Dig.

People have to work to survive. The best way to do this is to have everyone work together and focus on one thing. One person can focus on making cars for other people, while another person focuses on cooking food for others. It's better for people to work and to trade than for everyone to try and do everything themselves. This is true for any market, but it works best in the capitalist market because the capitalist market allows failing businesses to fail, and successful businesses to profile.

How do we measure success and failure? It has to do with profit. Of course, we have corrupt systems that interfere. For example, the government will often take over certain programs, or fund private organizations. This is NOT capitalism, it is either socialism or corporatism (depending on whether the government takes over projects or funds private corporations).

But even in a socialist system, one in which the government takes over, people have to work.

"Dangling a carrot in front of the people" is another way of saying, "You work, you get rewarded." But here's the thing, the carrot on the end of the stick that people work for, THEY GET THE CARROT. It's not just "dangled" in front of them, it's something they obtain!
Lol Your attempts to understand are only matched by your own incompetence. placing all sorts of words in my mouth is the only way u and others here can feel good. Y'all think u have me figured out. I think Jesus is all about me? Say what?
JEHOVAH, YAHWEH, or whatever u want to call THEM told me to inform of your Christian demise at the doors. Take that any way u want. U need to convince to sell it, I need no such thing. Those with eyes and ears have been warned accordingly. And only time will tell.

My reward is already with me. I already have all the $$$ I need in my mind alone. And most all here are trapped with words that cannot break through the veil. Thus any words used are taken how your mind understands it, not as I'm trying to convey it.
The first heaven will pass away. And Christianity is of the first heaven, like all established religions. So most of what's said here will be brought to naught. "Behold, I come as a thief" Hope that's comforting to u.

Be careful you do not become a Jonah sat watching for destruction.

Revelation 22

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

BTW: Everything Jesus said relating to money goes against capitalism and sounds more like socialism. Wealth was to be distributed evenly such that none had want. Capitalism cannot tolerate this model.

Jonah wanted justice as he alone sought fit for Ninevah. And we've moved far beyond the Old Testament context anyway. Those who seek to gloat over the misfortune of others, like so many here do, will be dealt with accordingly upon their own heads.

The fact is most of the Biblical narrative is about victory being realized/fulfilled via the looking upon others with a, I told u so!" gloating measure. Throughout, looking upon your enemies as God's enemies is the context of the word. God has no enemies. Lest THEY should seek to Create an enemy for their own sport??? Or did those enemies of God create themselves??? Think! Free will? There's no such thing for THEY who knew the end before the beginning.

Sorry nope,Jesus was getting to the heart of the matter which is greed. Socialism will promote a model in which many who WILL not get off their butt to be provided for which does go against scripture. It was also written if any man WILL NOT WORK neither shall shall he eat. No where does Jesus ever promote that one is to be provided for with all the little trinkets.
Jesus only spoke on the basic needs of life. Food, clothing, shelter, water and transportation. And Jesus also put it on a PERSONAL level, not a business or governmental level. If YOU SEE a person that is hungry YOU feed him,if you see a person that has no cloak and you have two YOU give him one etc, etc. He was speaking to many that had businesses, fishermen etc.

another trying to put words in my mouth again. Assuming what I'm saying in a most negative context. Liberty and justice for all can easily be construed as an unwarranted entitlement package. And your conclusions about why so many seem to not want to work are off as well. Recall that it's a capitalist system that's creating this problem here. The idea that if all these lazy people got off the dead butts and actually worked everything would be fine is equally naïve. Everyone's supposed to be inspired to do their thing. And capitalism can't get there with all wealth, power and influence being maintained strictly in the hands of a few. Or go ahead and tell me how I'm twisting the meaning of, "capitalism" all out of context. Lol.

Face it. Nothing can be done about the matter at hand. The end is nigh. All happiness and joy will certainly be swept away- for a sufficient time. Stripping those who think they own of all such. There is no out, no way to sidestep fact. Many here will be very dismayed when it matters not whether one wants to believe or not. THE LORD IS THERE!!! And will certainly prove it.

Try reading what I said again. All I said was Jesus did not promote socialism or capitalism. He was taking about loving ones neighbors as one's self. And again where did I say all that were not working were lazy? I said it promotes some to do so,not all. It goes to the heart of the matter it's greed and neither socialism or capitalism will change that. It's a matter of the heart.

Not just one, "Christ", now there's a small Army of us everywhere- hidden from the broad view. All on the same page, all with the same singular focus. THE PRIMARY LAW
