Rick Warren is a cessationist who wrote the "purpose driven" series as well as "celebrate recovery" twelve step program that teaches deliverance without genuine repentance. His material is based on popular secular business models and psychology.
I'm familiar with Warren. Here's a great link that'll help anybody that's curious to know what he's about.

Rick Warren New Age

I was reading about Rick Joyner this morning while responding. Not the first time I've crossed the two ..... and probably won't be the last. Different vegetables .... but each a part of the same soup........ deception.

You still do not seem to understand. A prophet is not title or office but a gifting. A prophet is someone God uses from time to time usually to bring correction into a situation. A prophet might very well be a pastor or teacher as well. It actually makes perfect sense if God were to use a pastor or teacher in the prophetic during a crisis, only for that person to return to their role as a pastor or teacher until God decides to use them again.

The problem is not whether or not God still uses prophets today. The problem is people misinterpretation of what a prophet is. Cessationists are every bit as guilty of misinterpreting the role of the prophet as those who abuse it.
nonsense.
cleverly put together, but total deception.

did you see what mr. edwards had to say on the matter?

If you are going to promote hatred in the name of Christianity, you should at least take it to the private chat groups area where it belongs instead of sowing strife and discord in public.
why should i listen to you?

if the New Apostolic Restoration is promoted in public, i am to come against it in private?
i don't think so.

any moment now you'll be calling me JEZEBEL.

if you want to save time we have a really long thread on that already.

Thats because there is no need for a prophet today. We all are taught to bring correction in all situations when needed. Most of 2 Timothy is written for and to all believers. Are all believers prophets?

No they're not however, if they are truly being led by the Holy Spirit then they have the potential to be if called upon. The gift of prophecy is not some grand title or office as many attempt to portray it to be. It is a gift that manifests in subtle ways that never reveals new "revelation" but merely sheds new (more) light on that which has already been revealed or possibly concealed for sinful reasons.

None of these scriptures say anything about modern prophets. I think you misunderstand what a true prophet is. Try Ephesians Amos 3:7 and Ephesians 4:11-16 for starters. I think Ephesians 4 explains perfectly why we need prophets today just as much as we ever did. Verse 12-14.....for the perfecting of the saints, that we are henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine.

If there was ever a time in the world that we needed prophets...the days before the second coming of Christ would be one.
