This is not Biblical doctrine.
The devil goingth about seeking whom he may devour
He went to the kings of the earth saying he and his evil angels were aliens from another star system and have come to help earth
thats where all these alien lies are coming from
they bleive him

what he is really doing is lying and gaining their confidence to kill them with the last nuclear war.

Jesus will save christians who do not believe these lies of satan and rely on the bible.

Which part exactly is not biblical?

I've taken enough conversational rabbit trails that it would be hypocritical of me to be upset at this juncture.

lol, i just thought it interesting how the conversation evolved from legalism to demon pretending to be aliens.

still not sure how that happened, but I strongly suspect its something Tintin was reported to have said.

though looking at the statement, I kind of read a sarcastic tone to it, at the very least a tongue-in-cheek kind of response.

I think i'm going to head to bed and check on this thread later. who knows what the topic will be then? :)

nit, God bless.

Sorry! :(

I couldn't relate to the video, I've never attended any type of Christian school.

The practice of hiding misogyny behind scripture seems to be pretty common in the church today (and most other days too). If the Spirit leads me to practical solutions for that kind of thing then I'll make my own thread.

Christian Colleges have not cornered the market in distorting God's Word. Almost every person I've talked to that took classes on the Bible as an extra, walked away confused about the Bible. The most blatantly obvious, the young man told me his professor began like this, "Now for any of you who know me, I am a preacher at so and so church just up the way. Pay no attention to that, because I can't tell my flock the truth I'm gonna tell you all here in this class, so.."
well, meet me. :) i earned my bachelors degree at a christian liberal arts university and i had for the most part, outstanding professors who usually left me with somewhat of an academic, but far strengthened faith. but i really believe that it largely was because the professors were fervent men and women of God. but i also don't doubt that not all christian colleges are providing the same educational experience. personally, i think it has a lot to do with these two things:

1) not all christian colleges require their staff/profs be christians (which i find more than outrageous)
2) immature christians seem to be most attracted to the legalism lie
3) kids who have been living with rules made for them are now trying to sort out the world and create order for themselves. in my experience, people in chaos seem to be extremely attracted to legalism and other meaningless trinkets that give a false sense of achievement and validation. i would say most college kids fit into that "risk group".

ironically, right after i graduated from h.s. i was part of a bible study based upon the book "the search for significance" by robert mcgee. i wish it was standard curriculum for every h.s. and college student, as it was one of the handful of books that had a tremendous impact upon me.

i don't know many issues where we are in such conflict with the world as we are with girls and their value.

it would wake up the kiddies and I don't like watching videos. I'd rather read a synapses of what I noticed that her sweatshirt says "I love guns". She says "um" alot.

says she achieved the "Christian character award" from K-12
um, i kind of like guns. not radically, nor am i saving up for a huge generator when "the new world order" arrives (and i don't have any other anti-government philosophies).

and now that i think about it, i got a sharpshooter badge when i was 13, but i don't remember how i earned that. probably shooting a gun.

but i do enjoy shooting for sport and i used to hunt. and if you like shooting, then you probably love guns, since it's not much fun if you don't.

of course, i grew up in rural montana, where everyone takes hunter's safety as part of the school curriculum (then, it was around 12 years of age) and we drive with gun racks and anyone can wear a gun on your person legally, as long as it isn't concealed.

i also have a NRA sweatshirt and a Hooters t shirt, but they were both gifts, but i'm not a patron of either's organization.

So she has ALSO proved she is not worhtless. (I´ve liked those words, but I need to investigate, on Wiki, what is this: "i graduated from h.s.")

So ignorant of what's being talked about on so many levels. I also can't watch YouTube videos. And there are different definitions of legalism out there. What exactly makes them feel bad? Rules? Breaking rules? Having too many rules? Having too many rituals? Being too strict? Blaming yourself when you break rules? Being satisfied when you abide by the rules? Not being lenient? This also might be helpful in raising a daughter, since I'd like to do that one day; and it will obviously entail some rules.
