Here is a Biblical definition of indifference from Biblegatewaytools:

"A neutral attitude to God that is as dangerous as hostility. It is condemned as a rejection of God’s love and of the needs of others"

Here are a couple verses which describe indifference to me. From a Christian perspective, of course!

"
no one understands;no one seeks for God." Romans 3:11

"For this people's heart has grown dull,
and with their ears they can barely hear,
and their eyes they have closed,
lest they should see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and understand with their heart
and turn, and I would heal them." Matt 13:15

This one seems to indicate that being cold is not a good thing.

"
And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold." Matt 24:12
yes but there's one problem the word indifference isn't written in the bible no where so it can't be a bible definition, it's a human definition from who ever wrote that at biblegateway thinking from his or her own thoughts of what it means and in my view is stating a lukewarm prospective on indifference for neutral means one isn't for it nor against it. For indifference means no concern ...if one is neutral they are undecided and rather stay on the fence then choose a side.
they have a little concern for both but rather stay Neutral and not pick a side.
the word indifference comes from the modern dictionary meaning no concern.

Now yes Matt 13:15, Romans 3:11, Matt 24:12 are great examples of being indifference with God I totally agree :) And also couldn't mean a nuetral feeling in my view

i can only speak for myself but man teaches me second, for I will always seek God first to understand. though some times I have to learn the hard way and he sends me people or issues in life, for which then opens my eyes and ears to what I didn't get before. Hearing and seeing Gods will isn't as easy as posting or talking with people for he gives us free will to be not concern or concern with him.

Well sometimes we need and God uses other people to help us understand Him. Yes we rely upon the Holy spirit for understanding but the Holy Spirit can and will use other people to help us understand. Many time dismissing what others say on a particular subject can be a hindrance to understanding. We have to rely upon the Holy Spirit to help us learn from others in a correct way. I have found over the years that some, not all, who only read the Bible for understanding come to a false conclusion on a subject. I am not saying that is happening here but we must also be mindful of what others say also. Praying to the Holy Spirit must be first but we must allow Him to use others if needed. Without a "human" definition we can many times miss the point and completely misunderstand God's Word. We must remember that God used human hands in their words given by God to write the Bible. These men used their own emotions, experiences and words to correctly put on paper what God told them too say. God did not use them as a photo copy machine but as a "secretary" to put His Word on paper.

O so true :) as I myself said the same thing at the bottom of my last post sometimes I get what I hear and see from God wrong because of my own vocabulary and knowledge in comes the people Amen :).. Indeed as human vocabulary grows with more words the hindrance to understand also grows.
i mentioned Titus 1 2 3 it is my view Paul made a error in instructing Titus to go and rebuke in chapter 1 quick to think slow to speak thus wanting to be tuff with the elders and others to basically lay the Law down on them the bible doesn't mention how that approach worked out I'm sure it didn't go over well no one likes to be pushed around, also the circumcised really guess I'm out of luck.
today it is known it's a little more healthy to cut away this skin it is more sanitary. Paul didn't go to Rome as instructed he made a pit stop not concern(indifference)with what he was instructed thus we have his testimony his time in prison...what if he did go to Rome without stopping would we still have his writings from in prison probably not God works in mysterious ways. In Titus 2 is odd for sure little is spoken harshly of older men and one word for younger men and more negative stuff about older women not to mention the servant basically slaves I don't feel that was from God. In my view it's men who lived on lawless power and old Laws who took time to shake off the old ways and still hasn't been completely gone.
for why did Jesus do what he did for us to give all people their free will back not just some, he broke the bondage and took mans sin away.
Now Titus 3 is sound teaching from God.
what if chapter 1 was using what chapter 3 tells us to be the out come would have been peaceful I doubt chapter one turned out peaceful. Paul was not concerned with inspiration at times stuck between the New Testament and Old Testament. I can understand this for I have done the same probably everyone at one point in time. I know this seems not logical but for me to understand God I have to be not logical as far as vocabulary and knowledge for God is far beyond all that. This is my view not to push my views on too anyone but too share what I learn only, as God does with me. Surely don't have to subscribe to what I say ponder if it seems not logical I'm ok with that.. To each their own free will. In my heart it's sound to me. For which I'm still indifference at times lol....

Exactly....Like the believer who will not agree with gays and will not condemn gays.........on the fence and indifferent to both views........!
I do not condemn because I have no legal or moral right to condemn. I will not condemn because I have absolutely no idea what God will do in the future for that person. That's not fence sitting. That's understanding the power of God.

One slight little problem here. If Paul made an error then that means God made an error as all Scripture is inspired by God (2 Titus 3:16). So if Paul erred then God erred thus putting ALL Scipture on the podium of possible err. And as far as Paul going g to Rome? Well God was guiding him so does that mean God made yet another mistake? If you believe Paul erred in writing and Paul erred in going to Rome then the whole thing must be placed on God thus making God unreliable and able to make errors.

And as far as free will...well that is another subject as God doesn't even have free will as He cannot go against His own attributes.

. Yes, and sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean to lump two issues in one, was just saying that sometimes treating another with indifference, whether by one or a group, can be a form of bullying. Also, being a victim of that form of bullying (indifference) may lead some to seek the attention they feel they're missing in some pretty drastic ways. I think that's the reason some ppl drive around blasting folks out with every form of F-, S-, or N-Word thru their stereo. It's a form of insecurity, a way to say, 'pay attention to ME', like a little kid throwing a temper tantrum. Maybe they were ignored, so they now ignore and disrespect others. I'm not excusing ppl who make a choice to be that way, just saying it CAN be perpetual. Thanks for the correction, as you know, I can't always put in the right words what I'm trying to say. I'm so sorry for the things you've been through, and I'm reminded of what a horrible person I've been myself, and it grieves me so much to know the hurt I've caused, and have no way to make things right. So glad to Jesus He pulled you through so much, and has you helping so many, even a dweeb like me (even tho you've now exposed 3 of us as being from philly (I left?) so INDIFFERENTLY:)) Maybe we should BOTH look for that 12 step program for blabbermouths --- 'On and On Anon' ! (I knew you'd be a welcome contributor here, I know a few others that I'd like to see here as well. THAnks, Elf, for a good one, sorry for runnin' on with it.
( I GOTTA get a new sig ) :)
Philadelphians aren't blabbermouths. We're talkative. (Particularly "talkative" to Cowboy or Giant fans. lol)

(BTW, I like your signature. I'm a klutz, particularly dangerous when being talkative and walking, so it reminds me of me. Watching out Stop sign. I'll bowl you over. lol)

We threw ice balls at Jimmy Johnson AND Santa. Whatcha got? All you guy do is laugh at the bumblebee throw-back uniforms. Who wouldn't? :D

(And I'm really embarrassed by the fans that would do that. Sure, popcorn on TO, but only when he wore our uniform, and without the container. Nothing hard.)

Yeah the bumble bee throwback was a bad idea but we are in the Batman movie. Hines Ward ran for a TD as the field blew up. Oh and we have six rings :)

Although I did go to school in St David's for a year and rode the train downtown every weekend. Walked to King of Prussia mall a couple times and played paintball in the mall illegally hehe. Yeah we got banned from the mall for that one lol. I attended Eastern college in St David's for a year. I didn't have any problems in philly. I was a Pennsylvanian so no worries even though at the time the devils were rivals of the pens.
