no that's okay bro. this sounds right.
except i did sins a few times after Jesus saved me, it wasnt fun and i quit that stuff rigtht away but i can't say my heart i pure like another guy said on another thread. my heat isn't pure,i know that for sure. i wish it was. i saw in the bible the origianl christians who followed Jesus weren't pure either, they still got things wotrng.

i thought the word pure meant sincere, without deceiving and lying.
but good post though, i think i understand what you are saying. i like our flesh bodies, i don't theink they are evil. my flesh body gets me where i want to go and it helps me put flowers on my Mom's grave and it goes to work and helps . i won't be alive right now without my flesh body. my body isn't the problem my mind is.

Jesus already saved me bro. he cleaned me and forgives my sins and one i'll be in heaven with him when i am finsished with this flesh body.
Maybe this might help as Isee you are growing in him
Acts 17:28For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

Galatians 2:20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
1 Corinthians 2:2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

All the power resides in the cross and one sees this once God shows them their resurrection by the resurrection at the cross of Christ

Every time I hear that I wonder about the reasoning behind it. I have been saved for a while and like most folks I have had temptations and trials. I have never even once considered walking away from Christ. Walk away from eternal life? I can only conclude that it is a false statement or simply a cop out.
1 Cor 6:20 For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are Gods. You do not have the right or ability to take what is Gods, bought with the blood of Christ and give it to the devil.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
It is nothing more than fear, and fear in the begining is good for that is where wisdom begins, fear of the Lord who can kill both body and Soul
now when one sees the perfect love of God via the cross then
1 John 4:18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

It is a matter of seeiing this perfect love of christ and then when all fear is cast out by this , then the truth has set them free as I see it has you and God and I know it has me as well
Thanks Roger for your insightful input of the whole truth found in christ's finished work at the cross

I CANNOT believe you people are still debating this.
well it's went form one area of baptism to another area of belief and OSAS.... it's just grown that is all. Doesn't mean it is "all we have" as some would say (even though they are still in this thread themselves) it just means we aint done talking about everything we brought up :)

All I'm doing is quoting scripture,
If GOD wants us to follow scripture then we should do it.
If it is a SIN to disobey HIS scripture then I don't want to sin.
If SIN keeps me from a heavenly home then I'm going to do what ever it is required of me to obtain that home.

Sure I have GOD's grace and by faith I believe that HIS blood shed for me on the cross was for my sin, but I'm not going to go on belief alone!!!!
devils believe GOD and yet they wont obtain this grace or heaven.

Obedience is what GOD requires of us.

Acts 2:38 says REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED and you shall receive the gift of the HOLY HOST.
It doesn't say believe only.
we have to hold up our end of the deal also.
we live in the new covenant.
That means new terms.
I don't get it why people think that all you have to do is believe when scripture after scripture says
we must repent,
we must be baptized,
we must follow holiness with all men,
we must grow in love.....
all these things GOD requires us to do and yes it is a lot easier to do these things when we are filled with HIS SPIRIT guiding us,
but they still must be DONE!!!...

Jas_4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

it's not called a works salvation!!!!

it is called obedience!!!!
i agree with all that you say above, except for one detail. When you say:
We must be baptised.

Are you assuming (your opinion) that that baptism is of water?
For it is absolutely True a person must be baptized. Holy Ghost baptized that is, that is what is required.
Water baptism is not required for one to be Saved, it that were so, then Works indeed does Save us, the work of being water baptised in order to be Saved. Please, please read my article on Water Baptism and see all the Scriptures that support the Truth that i am telling you.

yes I believe it is water baptism. I studied the words in the strongs and it all leads to water. I believe if you were to go back about 10 pages or so in this thread it would show the strongs results for baptism already posted in thread :)

The best I can say Silver dollar is to read from Romans the epistles on and read asking God to reveal truth to you. Each person is responsible to learn from God to have the board removed form their own eye first.
There is a differance between flesh and the Spirit of God in Adam we are born with the body, soul and spirit. But our Spirits are dead being born of the flesh. Born again is being born of God by God by the resurrection back at the cross
Romans 6:1-11 read it and ask God waht this means
Romans 6:1-11

New International Version (NIV)

Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ

6 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? [SUP]2 [/SUP]By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? [SUP]3 [/SUP]Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? [SUP]4 [/SUP]We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. [SUP]6 [/SUP]For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[SUP][a][/SUP] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— [SUP]7 [/SUP]because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. [SUP]10 [/SUP]The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

And people are continuing in sin because they are not believing themselves to be dead to it by Christ at the crosss, that is what this controversy is about
We are first born of the flesh then by belief we are born of the Spirit of God. It is not hard to see God willing of coarse
no man
that's that crazy talk about dead flesh and spirits and stuff.
it says dead to sin.
i know what that means.
this is wack some peole trying to say they are not flesh men any more just spirit!! LOL

i read this whole thread. i don't understand it.
mainly i don't understand why people talk about the flesh and the spirit like they are two different things. like i know they are, the flesh is our physical bodies and the spirit is the actual person, right?
but i see all this writing about you are of the flesh so you can't understand or you have to be a spirit or you won't be able to do this or that.
none of that makes any sense to me.
i'm a whole person. i know the bible said i was spiritually dead before Jesus saved me, that part i can understand. i doesn't mean completely totally dead or else people would just be all zombies just a body with no real person.
doesnt it mean we were spiritually dead, like lost our connection with God like Adam when he fell?
i get it that all people are born sinners but we still have a body.

does it just mean that until God gave us spiritual life that matters, connected to him we were just disconnected spiritual people in normal flesh bodies? i'm not explaining it right, but what's wrong with our bodies? our flesh and bones? i don't understand this part. is my body supposed to be evil?
i don't think our bodies are evil. i think our mind before we got saved was evil, i guess our spirit without Go'd sprit was evil.
doesn't God forgive our sins and give us a new life? i don't understand why it seems like eveybody hates their flesh body!

for baptism, it's baptism in water right?
it's my understanding that we are born into a sinful nature. Born sinners, cause of the fall of Adam and Eve.
We do have that disconnected thingy-a-majig going on with GOD cause sin does separate us.
When I use the term flesh, it means sinful nature. (I'm not a zombie)
When I say I die to my flesh or get my flesh under subjection, it means I die to those desires that come natural to me but are against GOD's will in my life and I keep those desires in check with the power of the HOLY SPIRIT of course.
When GOD fills us with HIS SPIRIT we have that comforter, that power to over come our own earthly desires to sin and do things that GOD doesn't want us to do.
Without HIS SPIRIT in us it is a lot harder to even try. GOD makes it easy, HIS burden is light.
as far as hating our "bodies" ~~~I hate the fact that I could loose a tire or two, but my ticker is still in good shape, & all parts running.
hope this made sense, cause I totally understood what you was saying.

P.S. it is water baptism, although many others disagree, but you can't go back into the original words and change their meanings, that is just a fact;)

OSAS is the only conclusion I can come to, when I understand that I am now a new creation, I have a new heart, mind, and spirit in me. I have the Holy Spirit who can not dwell in sin, Christ became sin for me, and I am now seated with Christ at the right hand of the Father, I have passed from death into life. I am a new wine skin to carry the new wine. It is no longer me who lives, but Christ in me, who I am now with. My life is hidden in Christ.

Yes, there are some Scriptures that indicate you can lose your salvation, but there are far more than indicate you can't, and the ones that you can lose your salvation has indication that you never had it to begin with. Like 1 John, they left us because they were not of us, even those who left Jesus when He said you must drink my blood and eat my flesh, they left because they didn't quite understand He had the words of life and death, the disciples did.

Salvation isn't a mental experience, it's a complete whole experience, its not about my strength now to believe and follow, its about His finished work that He has done in my heart ;) It all comes naturally now. That is if, we have our minds renewed.

One thing I noticed is that the Apostles were continually writing letters to believers saying hey stop sinning! But at the same time affirming they are indeed saved. I think if we are going to walk in the fullness we must receive His love, accept we have been transformed, and stand on the fact that our mind is being renewed. And anything that says I'm a sinner not a saint is from the enemy trying to keep me in my past bondage, because whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

This is more than a theological debate. Because theological debates tend to preach a Kingdom of word and not power. We wonder why Christians do not walk in the same anointing that the Bible promises, I believe this one stronghold that holds us back, thinking I am merely a Christian and not a Child of God.

Thinking that I have gained some sort of standing by the flesh. Or that my works are anything but filthy rags compared to Christ, even Paul counted all of his religious works, which are far more than ours haha, he counted them dung. Powerful words. Nope, I'm a Child by birth not by worth. And so are you.

This doesn't mean I advocate sin because I don't. Sin is horrible. It's not some fun thing. It destroys people, relationships, and it grieves the Spirit, let's NOT do that. In fact, I advocate love. I advocate knowing love, following love, getting transformed by love, and then letting love transform everyone around you.

Do we still sin? I think we do sometimes, but we hate it. That's the power of Christ to transform our hearts from chasing sin, to chasing love. But focusing on not sinning, doesn't stop us from sinning as much as focusing on love does ;) Doesn't the Bible say it's the kindness of God that causes us to repent? (Renew our minds).

Therefore my argument isn't a theological one, but one of love. Accept you have been transformed, accept that you are accepted, the Father is pleased in you, He has equipped you, and you are called to be everything He has ordained, and He has made it happen, from this place the Kingdom of Power is exciting because you can't wait to watch the Father wreck people with His love.

Outside of this place, you are striving, you get burnt out, and you wonder why you can't seem to kill the flesh.

So let's get beyond this thinking that life is about me and my salvation. And live a life that preaches and demonstrates the Kingdom in church and out.

hi bro,ya i agree with this. but what is osas?
but Jesus didnt actually become sin, right? he was a sin offering thats not not the same, right? its like a substitute. i like the idea about love changing everything. i know what love feels like now. i thought i did before, like when i loved a girl or before my Mom died.
i loved some new friends i made when i went to on a trip across the country. some friends i met were so nice, and i felt like they were my family.
i loved my dogs, and n the lake alone in nature, swimming and summertime.
but when Jesus came tome, after i had the battle, he touched my mind and then i knew about his kind oflove. that kind you are talking about. but i found out only another christian understand what you mean. i tired to tell other people about it but they got weird. lol

so i dont think the love Jesus gives us transforms anyone around us very much. i found that anyway. i found they didn't want to hear about it, and they stopped calling me. lol.
some people said they noticed i was different, but i couldnt say my love for Jesus or his love for me transformed anyone. i remeberr when read the part about they hated him without a reasons and the part where he said they would hate his followers too. i was shocked by that. my teacher explained its because everybody secretly knows Jesus is the Lord but they made fun of him so many times and pretended like he wasn't and they don't want to pray in public and so on. so they don't like that kind of love. the kind where you are calm and at peace and all.

and for sure no offesne bro because i like your post. but
just that last part again , where you said kill the flesh. i do not know why people keep saying this!

what do you mean kill the flesh! this makes no snese at all to me.
i looked it up but i couldn't find anything really about it. the part about the flesh is evil and put to death and the spirit is good. another forum they were talking about it and they said paul didn't say anything like that.

he talked about worldy desires and so on. which i understand, because for example i used to be a gamer, but i lost that desire when i gt saved. but i didnt have to kill my flesh or anything to quit that, i just realized in my mind it was filled with evil and it didn't set well with the holy spirit who Jesus gave me.
so i know about the tending to the spiritual part, but i just do not understand why everybody keeps saying the flesh is evil! lol

thanks bro. i liked your post.

isnt saying oh you are in the flesh or this is from the flesh and if you are in the spirit or all that spirit stufff unless its the holy spirit, isnt that just a way to say you aren't responsible for what your body does? or maybe its just a way to say you're smarter.

well i asked about water baptism because its nearly time for my baptism! loll i am stoked.
but i was told that we are not saved by water, we are saved by our faith in Jesus Propitiation which appeased Gods wrath and reconciled us to God where he is not angry with us any longer and adopted us and we will have eternal life.
but my teacher said we take hold of that work with the promise by faith and our faith is an active obdedent faith.

this is easy for me to understand because if my boss said come to the office for a bonus and a company jacket, i couldnt hardly get those if i didn't believe he had them, and went to get accept them. is this supposed to be works or somehting that we dont do?

i'm stoked to be baptized soon. i think in the Virgin or the White or maybe just a lake because there might not be enough flow. i read your article and checked it the best i could.

well all that means as far as i can see is that Jesus set us free from the power of sin to control us.
that only counts for people who belong to Christ.
sin doesn't lead me around like it used to. i can think now before i couldn't think about it as sin i didnt even care or know.
i dont know what youre talking about.

are you saying you never sins? walking after the flesh as it says in romans there is something unbelievers do (like i used to be)

She is very much so filled with the Spirit of God as in learning every day as I think the rest of us are as well, and am glad that you are too by God all anyone else here are, is possibly waterers and or planters for it ois God that is the one that gives the increase
[h=3]1 Corinthians 3:4-6[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]4 [/SUP]For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal?
[h=3]Watering, Working, Warning[/h][SUP]5 [/SUP]Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? [SUP]6 [/SUP]I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

No force just revealing to each other what we see God has revealed to us by belief in God, each of us are growing in differant areas than the other and sharing it with each other out of the Love of God, and I am thankful for this very fruitful talk from each here, not condeming each other knowing that from God there is no condemnation

[h=3]Romans 8[/h]King James Version (KJV)

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

isnt saying oh you are in the flesh or this is from the flesh and if you are in the spirit or all that spirit stufff unless its the holy spirit, isnt that just a way to say you aren't responsible for what your body does? or maybe its just a way to say you're smarter.
That my Brother in Christ is how things are used in manipulation to destroy the person that beleives in Christ, and the enemy of God through the Spirit of error is at work through trying to put thoughts in such am I really saved? Did God really do it all at the cross for me? Do you see how the enemy is at work creating Doubt inme, you and all that beleive just as the enemy did att he garden of Eden, the serpent created doubt first in Eve and she ate and died in the Spirit of God, made alive inthe flesh seeing they were naked immediately went and hid from God knowing what God told them and yet God from that day on has had Mercy on all mankind, and not all mankind has recieved or wanted this Mercy supplied and completed in and through the cross. Where we today by belief in the finished work of God at the cross are restored back to the life that Adam and Eve had prior to the eating of that tree by the resurrection niot the death even though thedxeath was needed before new life could ever be restored as a righteous one from God
Hope I did not lose you? any doubt that the enemy can keep in your new self from God as in God has saved you by God then one gets de-ralied as adam and eve had gotten de-railed and died that day to the Spirit of God and were made alive to sinful flesh. Now this carried on this way all the way through history until the cross. Now today us looking back as the cross time is past we today look back and say in past tense form thank you and by God we enter into
[h=3]Psalm 100:4[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

That was King David looking forward to the precious day of Christ's salvation unto all that beleive, and today we are looking back to this overwhelming event in history, in total Tahnks and praises over this tha that there is no time for doing any wrong because as one focuses so shall they perform and is why I post this verse in hopes that people will see to stop trying to stop sin, becasue

[h=3]Galatians 6:8[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

usually when people say "you're in the flesh" they are saying you are not conforming to the will of GOD, you're just going on your own will -- satisfying yourself.
OR they are saying this because they are arrogant and want to insult you to say your "sinning"....(some people do act like this. we have some here in CC)

If we let our sinful nature get the best of us, we are responsible. that means we get down on our knees and pray to GOD for forgiveness. we don't rely on a prayer said so many years ago to cover it all today.

And this is the part where I really disagree with OSAS (once saved always saved).....
when I cause offence to someone -- I say I'm sorry after the offence. I regret my offence, and try my best not to do it again, and with GOD's help I won't.
I don't say "YO! so and so..... I'm gonna tell ya sorry now for all the bad things I'm going to do to ya in the future, ok, we cool with that ?"

That person is going to look at me funny and probably not be my friend any more.

Same with GOD.

you reap what ya sow. we will have these bodied until we die or until GOD takes us home, whichever comes first. We better learn how to deal with sin in our lives, learn to let GOD first wash us from our sinful past, then with HIS SPIRIT we can overcome temptation to sin again. BUT if we do sin we have an advocate, which is Christ JESUS.

This is what I believe.
others believe i'm wrong.
that's ok.

well all that means as far as i can see is that Jesus set us free from the power of sin to control us.
that only counts for people who belong to Christ.
sin doesn't lead me around like it used to. i can think now before i couldn't think about it as sin i didnt even care or know.
i dont know what youre talking about.

are you saying you never sins? walking after the flesh as it says in romans there is something unbelievers do (like i used to be)
that is what he is saying alright. he is what we call a "christian mystic" and he believes he never sins. EVER.

he is sinning by just saying such things cause no one is perfect but GOD.
