nothing can but ourselves. we can walk away from GOD
1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.

i read this whole thread. i don't understand it.
mainly i don't understand why people talk about the flesh and the spirit like they are two different things. like i know they are, the flesh is our physical bodies and the spirit is the actual person, right?
but i see all this writing about you are of the flesh so you can't understand or you have to be a spirit or you won't be able to do this or that.
none of that makes any sense to me.
i'm a whole person. i know the bible said i was spiritually dead before Jesus saved me, that part i can understand. i doesn't mean completely totally dead or else people would just be all zombies just a body with no real person.
doesnt it mean we were spiritually dead, like lost our connection with God like Adam when he fell?
i get it that all people are born sinners but we still have a body.

does it just mean that until God gave us spiritual life that matters, connected to him we were just disconnected spiritual people in normal flesh bodies? i'm not explaining it right, but what's wrong with our bodies? our flesh and bones? i don't understand this part. is my body supposed to be evil?
i don't think our bodies are evil. i think our mind before we got saved was evil, i guess our spirit without Go'd sprit was evil.
doesn't God forgive our sins and give us a new life? i don't understand why it seems like eveybody hates their flesh body!

for baptism, it's baptism in water right?

glad I'm not OSAS anymore. :)
Again you do not understand when a person is saved. You assume it is when God calls you... the first time you realize there is more to life than sin.... Or the ay the pastor made an altar call and you fell over or whatever... those times are NOT salvation.

The Bible says... the world (all men) will hate you, does the world hate you Jinx, or do they love you? Just so you understand, the WORLD is the false believers, the false Christs, and the false "saved" people. The false churches, the false "Christiains". It is not the muslim and the whore on the corner of the street, or the beggar at the shop, or the murderer in jail.... It is the "SPIRIT OF ThE ANTI -CHRIST" the people that say Jesus is in them (Jesus came in the flesh) but cannot live up to the righteousness... Those are the people Jesus refers to as WORLD. The ones that say they have His glory, and as their FATHER SATAN they can produe very believing acts.... Even give out to be children of the light.

Well these people should HATE you. Not agree or love you. And if they do, it is because of the TRUTH, and the TRUTH is EVERY person that has Christ in him SINNETH NOT! If you sin you did not see HIM nor KNOWN HIM, and that means HE DOES NOT KNOW YOU EITHER. As simple as that!

Read this, and explain how this fits into your idea of Salvation....
Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

For me it looks like salvation FOLLOWS the "endure unto the end".... Did you endure unto the end already? Then why still sin? I mean it means to endure OBEYING THE SPIRIT TO STOP SINNING....Die off the old Jinx so that EVERYTHING IS MADE NEW...

Only the NEW CREATURE is in Christ.... the OLD CANNOT ENTER.... NOTHING OF THE OLD CAN ENTER INTO CHRIST.... The old is the sinner, the NEW IS CHRIST IN FLESH!!!!Those are saved people, and THEY SINNETH NOT!

Look here who is sinners..... 1 John 3...He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

You should be hated by the World for the NAME sake of CHRIST. Not for the sin you do against them. You should be hated for righteousness sake, not for the false teachings and false holiness you try to portray. Look what GOD says about sinners...HE that does sin is of the DEVIL... God's children does not sin! Why? Because HE MADE THEM SO!

Silverdollar, we have a messed up spirit and soul by the sin we commit. God has to save us by giving us HIS SPIRIT. Our spirit is being washed by what Jesus did for us (not by water) and after He washed it, God has a pure spirit that He can make Holy and ONE WITH HIS... Then that spirit Jesus cleansed is made HOLY SPIRIT and God then give the flesh, Soul and flesh A NEW LIFE... Called a GODLY LIFE, EVERLASTING LIFE, Reborn from ABOVE/God... then you do not have that spirit that was fouled up, but GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT in you, and you are made perfect and holy to live AS HE WOULD IN YOUR FLESH...

If you do not understand this, I will gladly show you all the scripture that will have God SHOW you the TRUTH.
Please ask me if I need to show you how Baptism with Holy Spirit and REBORN OF GOD, and SALVATION COMPLETE is all ONE EVENT! The moment God gives HIS SPIRIT TO REMAIN IN YOU. TO MAKE YOU HOLY PERFET AND A CHILD OF GOD.

As long as you sin God has not yet given you HiS SPirIT TO REMAin in you.

Jinx as we talk other people learn from us the FALSE AND THE TRUTH. So it is good we talk. Scripture is the TRUTH and some may just be touched by what we talk... AND GOD HAS THE POWER TO REVEAL THE TRUTH TO THEM.

no that's okay bro. this sounds right.
except i did sins a few times after Jesus saved me, it wasnt fun and i quit that stuff rigtht away but i can't say my heart i pure like another guy said on another thread. my heat isn't pure,i know that for sure. i wish it was. i saw in the bible the origianl christians who followed Jesus weren't pure either, they still got things wotrng.

i thought the word pure meant sincere, without deceiving and lying.
but good post though, i think i understand what you are saying. i like our flesh bodies, i don't theink they are evil. my flesh body gets me where i want to go and it helps me put flowers on my Mom's grave and it goes to work and helps . i won't be alive right now without my flesh body. my body isn't the problem my mind is.

Jesus already saved me bro. he cleaned me and forgives my sins and one i'll be in heaven with him when i am finsished with this flesh body.

nothing can but ourselves. we can walk away from GOD
Every time I hear that I wonder about the reasoning behind it. I have been saved for a while and like most folks I have had temptations and trials. I have never even once considered walking away from Christ. Walk away from eternal life? I can only conclude that it is a false statement or simply a cop out.
1 Cor 6:20 For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are Gods. You do not have the right or ability to take what is Gods, bought with the blood of Christ and give it to the devil.

For the cause of Christ

LOL, I like that one...

Hopefully it is the same Bread that I eat and manna, that Bread of Life---JESUS. If your meat is from a table other than the Lord's table, I would question that. All other true Christians won't eat strange meat.
:cool:
I am, eating from the tree of life that after the cross the resurrection is open to all the beleivers to eat from where as it was not prior to the cross
Genesis 3:22And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."; Proverbs 14:12.
Yep and tha tis talking about our fleshly works
Philippians 3:2Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh.
Philippians 3:3For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh
Philippians 3:4though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:

Okay so let us give up all our fleshly works then and have God take over and ask God to do in us what we try to do in ourselves and just can't cut the mustard. But God can for God not only wants to live in you but more importantly through you
Food to think about Ask God and listen real close the is a personal relationship between God and you

That is allot of good scripture but it does not explain what salvation is to you.
I personally do not need explanation of waht salvation is to me. For I and all that beleive as well are already by God if they do beleive, and this is done for all back at the cross
Ephesians 1:6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
[h=3]Ephesians 1:7[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]7 [/SUP]In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

:)...notice, what Paul said. ..."passed through the sea"... so just think about it, it is only a brain teaser. :)
Did they physically get? No not literally, yet not then Babtized by water literally Babtized by God literally thorugh belief just as Noah and Noah's family was
Today people are using water Babtism as the new way of lifew when iut was for Jesus to be babtized to do all things right to fulfill the law and Prophets as is waht he came to do and did triumphing over all by the way of the cross not the cross and water Babtism
We are under a new Covenant, Water Babtism was a part od the Old Covenat with the Levitical Priesthood and was not a public Babtism it was only for the high Priests that were in office at that time and was used before entering the holy of holies
Today after the crucifixion the death we are in a new Covenat under a new Priesthood and have new Laws writtn on our hearts the laws of Love
[h=3]Hebrews 9:15-17[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]15 [/SUP]And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

[h=3]Hebrews 7:11[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]11 [/SUP]If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

Hebrews 7:12

For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

For new life Broither we ar eunder the Babtism of the Holy Ghost only
The new has come and the old is gone
John said it that he only Babtized with water and Christ with the Holy Ghost. today tihs is how one is Babtized for new life and this new life in the Spirit is found in the resurrection of Christ back at the cross
I am sorry as of yet you do not see this meat of the word as of yet and are possibly still caught up in self-works that do not lead to new life
Romans 3:27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Romans 4:2For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

And yet man just continues to glory to man about what he has done or not done never seeing what sowing to flesh does as well as boasting does, even condeming others does by waht they do or don't do, not that you are just saying watch out for the traps of the flesh
[h=3]Galatians 6:8[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Notice what scripture stetes there just think about not sining and what do you do? Now get that one down and stop tihs or that what does that do? create proudness and boastfull ness and once that takes place what happens next, does not a messenger of Satan come along and buffet you as waht happened to Paul to what bring him back to where humility and then waht learn to glory in my iniquities, What let them be prause over them? Why that is not what we are taugh tis it? No we are taught to stand up and figh, fight, fight yes?
so then why did not Christ fight?
Just aome more meat to eat if God will permit and I am praying that God will for your growth into full maturity as I do see that you are growing

How was he saved? Because he said he believed? Anyone can play the part, but it's the heart that counts.

Plus... demons/devils believe in God and know who Jesus is. They are not in heaven. It's more than just saying or knowing. It's believing, having faith in God. Not by works, don't get me wrong! But by faith and having a heart for God.
and God knows that is what counts we are called to just love and by this love from us by God doing this in us leads one to repentance Romans 2

Its either the work of Christ alone who saves us or it is our work. It cannot be both.
Yes you are right it is one or the other, and it our free choice that chooses and I have made the choice for life found in God and quit from my own works as in Hebrews 3 and 4
it is the work of Christ the only one righteous ever here on earth after Adam being the second Adam born of the virgin a life-giving Spirit to give to us that beleive in the finished work of Christ trusting Father who then after the death rasied him back to life to give us life in the spirit of Christ. Yes thank you tribesman

Judas was once saved but did he make it to heaven?
Who knows he did show signs of repentance after this and truly only God every heart individually and we as man just have tomake our own judgements, when it is God who makes them period and is righteous in them
[h=3]Romans 2[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[h=3]God’s Righteous Judgment[/h]2 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. [SUP]3 [/SUP]So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? [SUP]4 [/SUP]Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Are you sure you have not by trying to keep yourself sinless and just can't make it. It is God that can nad has for you back at the cross if you will only put 100% trust in God that God has done tih s for you as King david forsaw this and stated by This Savior
[h=3]Psalm 100:4[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

King David was not sinless and forsaw what Christ was going to do, so he thus stated the above psalm hmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!! keep working for your salvation maybe you can become perfect as God is perfect. I don't know I used to do this and couldn't do it though then I gave upto God and God showed me a more excellent way. Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay to each theri own all in God's timing not mine Thank you God and praise you forever and ever

The best I can say Silver dollar is to read from Romans the epistles on and read asking God to reveal truth to you. Each person is responsible to learn from God to have the board removed form their own eye first.
There is a differance between flesh and the Spirit of God in Adam we are born with the body, soul and spirit. But our Spirits are dead being born of the flesh. Born again is being born of God by God by the resurrection back at the cross
Romans 6:1-11 read it and ask God waht this means
[h=3]Romans 6:1-11[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[h=3]Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ[/h]6 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? [SUP]2 [/SUP]By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? [SUP]3 [/SUP]Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? [SUP]4 [/SUP]We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. [SUP]6 [/SUP]For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[SUP][a][/SUP] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— [SUP]7 [/SUP]because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. [SUP]10 [/SUP]The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

And people are continuing in sin because they are not believing themselves to be dead to it by Christ at the crosss, that is what this controversy is about
We are first born of the flesh then by belief we are born of the Spirit of God. It is not hard to see God willing of coarse
