hummpf wonder what happened to the "love that covers sin" instead of unveiling it theology?

not referring to you Zone, but the "love that covers sin" teacher, just waiting for him to actually practice what he preaches.

the personal jabs are getting old, can we discuss the topic at hand?

Re: Is being slain in the Spirit Biblical?

I have read some posters say their churches practice this and they develop a deeper sense of community from it. I can understand that because it takes a level of trust to allow yourself to fall and do such things. Personally I'm a private person and prefer to pray alone and retain control of my body in the presence of others.

God judges everyone's hearts but I do not think it is right if people feel pressured into preforming instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to lead them. that somehow it makes another seem more holy or another less if they do or do not do such practices.

its not just the falling that concerns me truthfully but the hysterical laughter, the convulsions, the hypnosis into saying they have been healed of a disease when they have not, the pressure to give lots of money.

those are more concerning then anything else.

If your church is not like that then it may not apply. like anything there are extremes pretending to be of God and are not.

if we all have the Spirit of God, why are we so divided? :(
it hurts my heart.
there must be one TRUTH on every topic that we debate about. Holy Spirit come. Make yourself known to us.

there is more than one topic being debated and often people don't bother learning what another is speaking but places in their mouth words of their own imagining.

1 Corinthians 1:10 (KJV)
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

but...............

2 Thessalonians 2:11
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

....almost like the parable where the tears (wolfs in sheep's clothing) growing up together with the wheat.

...and like pretrib thingy which is a false teaching and they may know it yet they still teach it because they do not have a love for truth. It's suits THEM but ignore truth..

Lets u remain in the truth...

teaching pretrib rapture is sinful. pretrib is not the topic of this thread
pretrib rapture is absurd. that is your opinion, stating it does not make people listen better to your case
the concept is stupid. though you say the concept is stupid people will feel you are calling them stupid and that will hurt their feelings and most likely they will react in anger
that's truth.
truth or not it is not spoken with love with goal to do glory to God's name but to be "right" and justify yourself.

Plus it is not the topic of the thread.

the words causes confusion and strife and there are other threads already discussing the rapture and tribulation.

There is a time and a place for every thing. this thread is neither the time or the place for people to trash each other because of their differing opinions.

like I said before the insults and personal jabs are getting old.

Can we discuss the Bible and the topic at hand, instead of personal opinions of other posters and/or their ideas on subjects not pertaining to if being slain in the spirit is Biblical?

lol saw this after my last post.

Yeah I got that but you know it doesn't matter most people think they are their thoughts and concepts and don't see they are so much more then that. that is why they cling to their beliefs instead of trusting God to reveal His Truth to them and get mad and offended when anyone questions what they believe.

<3 <3 <3 I pray that there might be a spirit of unity in this generation that wins many over to Messiah. I believe it's all the factions that scare so many away.
thank you :) ahh the wheat and the tares.

there were factions in the early church too. don't be fooled that is not why so many do not come to Christ.

this is:

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Either way whether being slain in the spirit is from God or not, it is not a tool to minister to the unbelieving and like speaking in tongues without an intepretor present it would not bring people to Christ.

1 Corinthians 14
23 Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25 And thus[c] the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.

What an ignorant statement. So anyone who does not believe as you do does not love the truth?

I absolutely have a love for the truth. I sincerely want to know, and teach the truth. I believe the pretrib rapture is the truth. If I didn't, I would not believe it.

1 Cor 15 and 1 Thes 4.

In Matt 24 and Luke 21, Jesus is addressing Israel. The day of Pentecost, Christianity, had not yet come. The revelation in 1 Cor and 1 Thess had not yet been given. The church will be raptured, -then- the events in Matt 24, Luke 21, and Revelation will commence. They are for Israel and gentiles, not the Christian church. Christians will not go through the trib.

Yea shroom sorry i don't.
i was a pretrib believer myself until i went in depth study of the word about caught up, rapture, awaken, transformed and was only then i realized how stupid the pretrib theory was because the more i went into it over the years the more i realized the church will NOT be raptured out of tribulation.

Sorry shroom but those scriptures just confirms the tribulation of the whole world including the church which is in them.

Christians will not be taken out for they are the chosen, the elect (Israel, believers, church, bride of Christ) same thing.

Christ did say the days of the end times will be shortened for the elect's sake but not taken out whatsoever..

This is your subject introduced by your own post. Uncovering sin is what the scribes and Pharisees did with the woman was caught in the act of adultery and dragged into the temple to be accused before Jesus in (Jn 8:3-6). To expose the sin of your neighbor, best friend or family member is an act of uncovering sin. To say something untrue about another is bearing false witness and slandering. To malign another is using the faults and mistakes of others and trying to destroy their reputation and character with it.

When another believer lives in false doctrine and keeps it to themselves, then God can deal with them by teaching them sound doctrine through a pastor-teacher in a local church or through a Spirit-filled believer who has sound doctrine and walks in the light of that doctrine. However, when they are a perpetrator of false doctrine and are trying to influence others, then they need to be dealt with and admonished. That is not uncovering any personal sin but it's exposing and admonishing those that live in error and are leading others into that same error. Would you allow your children to be lead into error without exposing and admonishing the perpetrator? If I have uncovered anyone's personal sin, this is your chance to make it known on this thread. If you have any integrity in this matter you will deal with your open statement.

32. Despite the dispensationalists’ commitment to the non-contradictory integrity of Scripture, their holding to both a convoluted form of literalism and separate and distinct dispensations produces a dialectical tension between the “last trumpet” of 1 Cor. 15:51-53, which is held to be the signal for the Rapture at the end of the Church Age, and the trumpet in Matt. 24:31, which gathers elect Jews out of the Tribulation at the Second Coming (Walvoord). Dispensationalists, who allegedly are ‘literalists,’ posit that this latter trumpet is seven years after the “last” trumpet

Azusa Street Revival

Also starting in September 1906 was the publication of the revival's own newsletter, the Apostolic Faith.[21] Issues were published occasionally up until May 1908, mostly through the work of Seymour and a white woman named Clara Lum,[13] a member of the Apostolic Faith Mission. The Apostolic Faith was distributed without charge, and thousands of laypersons and ministers received copies worldwide. Five thousand copies of the first edition were printed, and by 1907 the press run reached over 40,000.[1][2][22]

The Apostolic Faith publication reported the happenings at the Azusa Street Mission to the world. Its first issue's lead story was titled "Pentecost has Come". It contained a letter from Charles Parham, an article on Pentecost from Acts, and a series of anecdotes of people's experience within the revival.[23] One edition in 1907 wrote, "One token of the Lord's coming is that He is melting all races and nations together, and they are filled with the power and glory of God. He is baptizing by one spirit into one body and making up a people that will be ready to meet Him when He comes".[2] The Apostolic Faith brought increasing attention to the happenings at Azusa Street and the fledgling movement that was emerging from the revival.[22]
