Cobus, I think you just sinned by bearing false witness unless you can show where Paul lied.
With the greatest of pleasure....
And my this bring us ALL a bit closer to God and HIS WILL....
Paul was a man called Saul. Saul was a persecuter of Jesus! NOt the Christians JESUS! Jesus said to Saul... Saul Saul why persecuteth thou ME!
Please this is not so difficult EVERY PERSON IN CHRSIT IS A NEW CREATURE.... and that creation or RECREATION of God is the BODY OF CHRIST JESUS. Ishould say the PERFECT BODY of Christ Jesus.

Saul was the sinner. and God had OTHER plans for Saul... Saul was to become PAUL and the VESSEL for GOD's Spirit to take the Gospel to the gentiles. Now a vessel is like a pot or a body, or a boat. It is something a person use to PACK stuff in to transport that stuff. God decided the VESSEL that will HOLD HIS SPIRIT to take the MESSAGE of GOD to the Gentiles would be the BODY OF SAUL. But Saul is a SINNER and a huge thread to the believers. That is why GOD STEPPED IN.

Now, Saul immediately RECOGNISED JESUS AS LORD. Read it in ACTS 9. Because this is NOT the first time the HOLY SPIRIT (Christ JESUS) Spoke to Saul. And here is a lesson.... The Holy Spirit will ALWAYS reproof us of the sin in our lives... IT IS HIS JOB (John 16:8) So no sin will pass by that the Holy Spirit will not reprove us of, so that we can confess and die off that sin. Same with SAUL. God showed him all the sin in his life, but HE KICKED AGAINST THESE PRICKS...

Anyway, becaus God had this plan for Saul the sinner to become Paul the APOSTLE, God had to do something. God has to CALL Saul, Lead SAUL OUT OF SIN AND INTO MINISTERY. And that is EXACTLY what God did.

So Saul was blinded and taken to a house, where Ananias would come and BATIZE SAUL to be PAUL and with the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit would lead Paul in the Truth to righteousness. Exactly as the Bible says God does with sinners. And so God made Paul an Apostle. And GOD appointed Paul as an apostle.

Now! I believe every person that is filled with the Holy Ghost CANNOT sin. If Paul was dilled with the Holy Ghost, where is his spirit? I mean if God says in His Word that a person is filled with the Holy Ghost, then it is like saying a glass is filled with water. then there is no more place for ANYTHING else. Paul was FILLED with the Holy Spirit. And God claims that THE HOLY SPIRIT REMAINS IN THESE PEOPLE. To the fullness of Christ. That is why Jesus was the NEW LIFE OF PAUL. Paul said he (Saul) was crucified with Christ and the life he (Paul) now lives is Jesus..... Now is Jesus perfect or not? Yes He is. And how many people did PAUL, not SAUL, PAUL kill? NONE!

Was Paul the opposite of SAUL? Yes he was. Saul was satan's vessel to sin, Paul was God's vessel to be PERFECT. Where do we see this... in Eph 4:11 to 13, and ,many other places.

Let us do this and then I will show the LIE!

The Word of God calls a person that God lead out of sin a SAINT. The Word is Hagios in greek and it means, to be without sin, spiritually pure, and moraly blameless, MOST HOLY. Now a SAINT is not PERFECT YET. So no person is perfect when they stop sinning, there needs to be MORE WORK DONE ON THEM FIRST... and this is what the Word of God says about this work....

Eph 4:11 to 13... And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Now I ask you this... how can an apostle make a saint perfect, if he is not perfect himself? And is a person that are made to the fulness of Christ NOT PERFECT... that is like saying Christ is not perfect... BLASPHEMY!

So in this we can see that GOD MADE PAUL A PERFET APOSTLE TO DO WHAT GOD APPOINTED HIM TOO! Perfect the SAINTS!

Now if we find a place where Paul says HE IS NOT PERFECT, then it would be a lie would it not be? We just SAW that Apostles are perfect to do a JOB. But Paul did say... He did not reach it yet.... And you all are under the impression Paul were still sinning, so you believed Paul's LIE... And Paul is VERY upset that you still see him as a SINNER...

Look here!!!!!!!

Romans 3:7.... For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

PLEASE STOP JUDGING PAUL AS A SINNER.. You know not what you do!
Paul did not lie when he said things, He was preaching on the BABE LEVEL of the people on MILK. When he preached to the people on STEAK PAul said... BE PERFECT and be FOLLOWERS OF PAUL.....

Please get this..... Paul even suggested that people should be living like him, and follow his example... So I asked God how can Paul do this... God said...If Paul looks and lives like Jesus, WHY NOT?

By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, "That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged." But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.) By no means! For then how could God judge the world? But if through my lie God's truth abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner? And why not do evil that good may come?—as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.
(Rom 3:4-8)

See in context Paul was identifying himself in with 'let every man be a liar' as charged by Scripture. But Paul is NEVER recorded as lying. Please show me where in two sentences or less. Good night.

There is no verse in the Bible that teaches Jesus' blood covers sin???? What about Isaiah 53, which speaks about our Lord? It says in part "He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities. Upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray. We have all turned to our own ways. And the Lord has laid upon him the iniquities of us all." Read the whole of Isaiah 53. If this isn't talking about Jesus, whom is it talking about?
Indeed it is talking about Jesus and His Blood for our REDEMPTION! Not hiding the sin under the blood. The Blood does not HIDE or COVER sin, The Blood of Christ CLEANSE and REMOVES sin. If God forgive you of a sin, IT NEVER HAPPENED! It is so removed and wiped out, that not even GOD will think of it again. Why? Because for every sin God forgive you, HE REMOVES THE SIN AWAY FROM YOU! And YOU FROM THE SIN... Giving you FULL AUTHORITY OVER THAT SIN! FULLLLL!!!!!

The same RULING OVER SIN, that Jesus had... God's VICTORY over sin was made on the RESURRECTION of Jesus! God made JESUS SATND UP... And if God makes YOU stand up you look, live, think, act, and glorify God EXACTLY LIKE JESUS DID! That is why if we DIE IN CHRIST, God will QUICKEN OUR MORTAL BODIES to live a GODLY life in the Spirit of GOD!

Some, like me, think this is where Paul LIED! I think Paul was perfect the moment God made Him Apostle, so if Paul at any stage say he did not attain perfection yet, then he would not have been appointed as an apostle... but this has deeper meaning!
Philippians 3:12. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Then he goes on and say this a few verses later....
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Now I ask did God have to reveal anything more to Paul? I think not, Paul was a complete GODLY MAN!

Yep, there is. When something is "cleansed", it eventually gets dirty and needs cleansed again.

And again.

And again.

Hmm, kind of the way Christians stumble and need forgiveness. Hmm, I say.
Miscris actually the Bible teaches the opposite... Christians do not stumble! Perfect people CANNOT stumble. And what is humanly impossible is possible for God! The disciples had the same question... WHO WOULD MAKE IT THEN LORD? Jesus answered.... WHAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR MAN IS POSSIBLE FOR GOD... Mat 19:26....

If God cleanse HE SEALS! and then the wicket (dirt) CANNOT touch His children... 1 John 5:18... Is this not beautiful from God!

Abiding if we can just agree on WHO IS MAKING WHO PERFECT, then it would be easy to see....
It is VERY simple. If God wants a person perfect, HE KNOW HE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN MAKE THAT PERSON PERFECT.

Can God make a person perfect? YES! Does He want perfect people on this earth? YES! Does He do it today still? YES! As easy as that! Now some will start again... Cobus are you perfect? NO I AM NOT! Why? God did not perfect me YET! I have a hope that God will do this, because that is what HE DOES to those that search this. Matthew 5:6. Even the THIRST of righteousness I have does not come from me, it comes from God! And God said: BLESSED are they which hunger and thirs after righteousness: for they shall be filled.....

The only thing we differ on is WHEN will these people be filled with righteousness... (NO SIN).... I say here on earth because the Bible teaches that, and others say only in the AFTER LIFE, where they get that i do not know!

I understand why Paul's teachings have such controversy around them. Even Peter said that there are things in his writings that are hard to be understood. Spiritual things can not be discerned with a carnal mind. Anybody who wants to approach it from a purely academic point of view is never going to get it.

Think about it. Sin comes in every way, shape and form. Thinking impure thoughts is a sin. Looking at a girl in a sexual way is a sin (which man can honestly say he can go days on end without doing this?), and even should you go a whole day without a sin you would probably be proud of your accomplishment giving way to pride -- which, you guessed it, is a sin.

Bottom line is I can't stand to hear that we must be perfect in order to receive salvation as some preach on here. Do these people honestly think they are sinless? Maybe they are not in bondage of ONE particular sin but they are in bondage to all kinds of separate smaller sins each day -- sins they may not even know they are committing.

I guess the spirit of this thread hinges on 1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us."

Without naming names of certain forum members, what do you make of 1 John 1:8? The Bible is saying that if you say you have no sin then the truth is NOT in you. That would scare me if I were you.
It is true we have to be perfect to be saved But, it is Christ's perfection that saves us not our own. We overcome by surrender. If we are fully surrendered 24 hours then we will be kept in Christ.

Justification=What Christ has done for us.
Sanctification=What Christ is doing in us
Glorification=What Christ will do to us.

Romans 6:16 KJV
(16) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Let's examine the framework of 1 John 1:8. It certainly does not defend neither habitual nor occasional sinning because the purpose of John's epistle is that we who have been called out of darkness and into light should not continue to walk in darkness. He said if we say we have fellowship with God, if we say we are in Christ but walk in darkness, we are lying. Now why would he say that if in fact we are to walk in darkness 24/7, have sin in our lives every single day, according to 1 John 1:8? That's contradicting. Therefore the verse alludes to repentance seeing that it is linked with confessing sins in order to be forgiven. It is about what our attitude should be towards sin if we sin. If we sin we are not to deny its existence but rather confess to God and repent; 1 John 1:8-9 is parallel to Prov 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. 1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin [He that covereth his sins], we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Harmonize scripture with scripture so looking at 1 John 2:1, John said do not sin but if anyone sins they have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. So 'if' denotes uncertainty not absoluteness. That verse does not say Christians always have sin in their lives or have to sin everyday otherwise they are deceived. God can sanctify our hearts and we can have victory over sin through the power in the blood of Christ.

Also, there is nothing humbling about believers calling themselves sinners. Believers are not sinners saved by grace rather were sinners but saved by grace. Who are sinners? Sinners are sick...
They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick (Matt 9:12). So if you are still a sinner then Jesus is calling you to repentance (for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance, vs. 13). Nowhere does the bible classify believers' righteousness as filthy rags in God's sight rather the bible says we should bear fruit of righteousness and this fruit is manifested when we abide in Christ. The 'filthy rags' is in reference to apostate Israel so it cannot be applied to believers in Christ but rather unbelievers. If the works of Satan has not been destroyed in your life then you need to go back to Calvary's cross. The Lord Jesus delivers people from the grip of sin and empowers them by His grace to live holy lives.
:)

Lastly, sinless perfection is another broken record that is played when one advocates holiness and obedience to God. It is simply a worldly view they have concerning holiness. No one is saying Christians have never sinned for the bible says "all have sinned..." neither is anyone saying that when you become saved you don't have the ability to sin, rather sinning is not a necessity because of the Holy Spirit in us. Ability does not imply necessity.

there is a HUGE difference between walking in sin (licentiousness) and admitting you sin.

Have you found the perfect love of God? Do you practice it 24 hrs a day? if you answer yes.. then according to John, you have decieved yourself.

if you answer no. you have agreed with John, that if we say we have no sin (are sinless) we decieve ourselves and their is no truth in us..

In reality they live by the code of:

Don't get drunk
Don't use foul language
Don't have extra marital affairs, or sleep with anyone outsides of marriage
Don't smoke
Don't watch pornographic films(skinski's favourite) or read pornographic literature
Obey the Ten Commandments.

By them succeeding in attaining to the above, they will inherit eternal life

Mostly, outside of that if you err, it is excusable for you are only making minor discrepencies.
However, do they perfectly uphold the Ten Commandments?

Oh I missed something
They will stress all of Christ's commands must be followed, you must strive to obey them all, but in reality they do not even attempt to strive to obey many of them themselves.

No it isn't possible to do so. The apostle Paul said,"in my body I am a prisoner to sin, but in my mind a slave to righteousness".
