WORD is something we SPEAK. We never name our children WORD. Word is LOGOS which is God's GOVERNING PRINCIPLE. When God SPEAKS we hear a Big Bang. When we toss a rock into the air and it falls down that is LOGOS or God's regulating Principle. John was not dumb: he could just as well said "in the beginning was JESUS and Jesus WAS God." Since he didn't and we speak where the Bible speaks and we know that Jesus was was born about 2,000 years ago, we being disciples grasp that a Regulating Principle is not another god called Jesus. What you might be saying is that the Father was helpless without the Son as a second god.

God Made JESUS TO BE both Lord and Christ: Lord identifies Jesus as the RULER or Governor of His Kingdom. If the Father made Jesus TO BE the Ruler or Regulating principle then Jesus was NOT the Logos or regulating principle BEFORE He was made to be.

God regulated through various means including Moses and Elijah and the prophets and winds (spirits) and fire (not kings nor levite sorcerers) and in these last days Jesus is the Regulator commanding Regulating Principles. Jesus was NOT confessed as the Son of God until after He was baptized. The DOVE is to prove that Jesus was not the daughter of a mother. Before His new birth Jesus is called the Son of Man.

OF is an adjective: the Spirit OF Christ is Christ's OWN Spirit or Mind or intellect. OF is almost always used to define MENTAL DISPOSITION. Both in Hebrew and Greek Spirit means literally WIND and only figuratively of the BREATH of God. When God BREATHS we hear WORDS. Jesus had no words: He spoke only what He herd from the father Who BREATHED on Him without measure: metron most often means METER and so all of the God Speak is without METER. That is a rat trap to catch those who insist on "making the lambs dumb before the slaughter."

oh is that right?

Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist.

(Matthew 11:11)

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. John would have prevented him, saying,
“I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
(Matthew 3:13-14)

was this ink not black enough or the paper not brown enough for you?

He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding

(Daniel 2:21)

For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
(Romans 13:1)

The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will.

(Proverbs 21:1)

John 14:26 (NKJV)
[SUP]26 [/SUP] But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

1 Corinthians 2:12-14 (NIV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Just to throw this out there.

The question "Is Jesus God?" is complete speculation, the only possible answers are theological in nature and can only be found by interpreting scriptures.

This endeavor will likely lead to paradoxes such as Jesus is both God and the Son of God, hence the origin of the doctrine of the Trinity :)

The first chapter of the gospel according to John teaches Jesus Christ is God. Isaiah 9 says the Child born unto us would be called Everlasting Father, the Almighty God, Counselor, Wonderful, Prince of Peace. Revelation says Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega.

People who do not understand at least that the Father is everywhere would have difficulty believing the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one, but that is the difference between peoples.

Jesus Chrst, Yeshua, is God Almighty. This is nowhere near being a speculation, a paradox or a dogma of man, it is written.

Does anyone think it is weird that Jesus talked to himself all of the time?

I do not know how all earthly things work so I try not to pretend to have a full understanding of heavenly things. But to me it seems that the bible says that Jesus is God because he is the Son of God. Just I am son of a human so I am human. But through acceptance of Jesus, I believe God considers me to be one of his children.

I thought Jesus is just the SON of God.
I to grew up believing this. It is also what Arius (256–336 AD) taught. His view was once the majority view among Christians. In the late 4th century the Church made the divinity of Christ and the trinity a required belief and made it a heresy to follow the teachings of Arius, whose works were, from that time forward, burned. Today this view is taught by the Jehovah's Witnesses, who I suspect came to it independently. There is a very good book, if you like early Christian history, entitled AD 381: Heretics, Pagans and the Christian State by Charles Freeman. It details the move to the belief in the trinity.

This is such a sticking point, with believers and non-believers alike. But like Psalm6819 said, a man is a father, brother, husband and son, all at the same time, so Jesus is God, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

I am also a father, brother, and son; and was a husband while my marriage lasted. Yet I am not God. This scripture does not imply divinity of Jesus, who himself was never a husband nor a father; so clearly this saying does not apply to him.

There are a lot of people who place a lot of value on the opinions of the so called "Church fathers" but these where just men whose theology was often shaped by their own ideologies. Whether any of these men's theologies were right or wrong, you have to remember that their beliefs are not the standard for truth. Truth lies exclusively in the language of scripture, not in the ideologies of the men of antiquity.

A reminder to those who wish to cart in philosophies that are not inclusive in the Word of God.

Philosophies of man are vain. They hardly hold up in this age since there are many philosophies which contradict one another.

Please do not attempt to import this vanity into the thinking of those who are saved by the Blood of the Lamb of Yahweh, Who is God. If they are not already contained in the torah (teachings) our Father has already provided for His children, your posts are less than gratuitous.

If it is a matter of loving contention, it is certain there is a forum somewhere dedicated to such pursuits. Thank you.
