I suspect, though I could be wrong, that the majority of those who are against medication (in a general sense), never needed them.

I wonder what they will do if they are in so much pain only morphine helps
or the day the might get a stroke because their blood pressure is so high (most people get a high blood pressure with age)
or if they are bitten by something venomous and need an antidote.
....will they say no?
Well, I reckon the village snake handler would say no, but I believe most folks would come to their senses whenever the venom from a Water Moccasine is running through their veins...

The title asks it all. Thoughts, opinions, and bible verses are welcome. :)
It's not sorcery that would require magical abilities medication is made but not with magic.
Now is it evil? It can be, medication like most things can be used for good or evil even taking a medication that was made and functions for good like headache med's or sleeping made can easily be used to see sounds or hear colors.

Just as the bible itself was made and functions for good it easily can be and is used for evil, a single verse can be used to encourage to build to heal a wounded heart and that same verse if twisted correctly can be used to do the exact opposite. Anything can be used for good or evil, the thing itself is not evil it's our evil purpose of it that makes it evil. Many say guns kill., ok put a gun on a table and tell it to kill nothing right?( I would hope so) but put it into a persons hand and it can be (used) to kill. Many say cigarettes kill but they don't they can do nothing on their own our choosing to smoke them kills.

Yes but the majority of people die from overdoses, because they abuse their meds by taking more than prescribed. They figure if 2 pills works good, then 4 pills works even better wonders. :( Look at Elvis and Michael Jackson. They both claimed that because their meds were prescribed by a doctor, that they were "safe". That may well be true in the prescribed dosage BUT both MJ and Elvis took far more than prescribed, more often than prescribed..
No, Blue, the stats say that thousands and thousands die as a result of taking the drugs they way they are prescribed to them. The number in Canada is about 10k a year, but in the States it is greater than 100k a year dying from taking drugs as they are prescribed. LOL looking at Elvis and Michael Jackson? They in no way represent anything approaching normal.

Pick up a magazine sometime and look for a full page prescription drug ad... there may be a vibrant attractive young healthy person performing some menial task with a huge smile on their face, all made possible ostensibly because they take a certain drug... then turn the page, and read the onslaught of small print, all the side effects etc, a full page of disclaimers. Still you will find that people take these known-to-be harmful drugs because they foolishly trust the doctors who prescribe them. I have seen, too, the ads on TV, lawyer firms telling the general public about some class action suit brought against a drug company for a particular drug, a drug that was tested and approved for use. They go something like this: if you have experienced permanent paralysis or blindness or untreatable cancer or loss of limbs, if you can no longer function as a human being, or if you are dead as a result of taking this drug, call our law firm today! Yes, they actually say, if you are dead as a result of taking this drug, call us.

The doctors continue to prescribe these drugs because they are endlessly courted by the drug companies, essentially seduced into submission, and the doctors are willing to overlook the known side effects because the chances of it happening to you are supposedly slim. Oh, I am sure that is comforting to the hundreds of thousands of people who have died as a direct result of taking some drug that was supposed to help them. Right? Right. Now they are making antibiotics that are known carcinogens, and they are widely used.

Prescription drugs taken as prescribed in hospitals are the fourth leading cause of death in the US and Canada, after cancer, heart disease and strokes. They cause about 10,000 deaths a year in Canada and about 106,000 deaths a year and over two million serious injuries in the US. As many as another 10,000 deaths a year in Canada are thought to occur outside hospitals due to the wrong drug, dosage errors and adverse reactions. One out of four admissions to internal medicine in Canadian hospitals is related to prescription drugs, of which 70% are preventable. Canadians now spend more on prescription drugs ($24 billion) than we do on doctors ($18 billion).

All
drugs cause adverse effects. The only difference between a drug and a poison is dosage.

If they get bit by a water moccasin, they won't need meds. They'll be dead within minutes. :/

speaking of which I went on yahoo answers and saw how people like to troll on there. A guy made a question, I am trying to feed my parrot my diarrhea why won't my parrot eat it? a person responded why are you feeding your parrot your diarrhea? he then replies that's not the question I asked, the funny things you come across from browsing out of boredom lol

This is not related to the thread at all, but my mom actually was once bit by a water moccasin. Somehow it did not release any toxins into the bite, though. Thank God for that.

Ummm, I don't think God intended mary jane for us, seeing as how it makes people do stupid, irrational things..lol.. and He certainly did NOT intend for mary jane to be abused as much as it is by stoners..

Agreed! Everything in moderation...!

So.... I shouldn't take my meds because my body is telling me something is wrong when my blood pressure is at a danger level without drugs and a safe level when on them?
Daniel Chapter 1 says something interesting. And it matches up beautifully with what I have been learning recently from diet scholars. A plant-based diet will cut cholesterol levels to about half within two weeks ... it also helps to prevent and reverse heart disease, stroke and assists with BP problems.

People who smoke pot end up killing a whole heck of a lot less people than those who drink alcohol... alcohol, which was drunk by the barrel in Jesus' day. Still, we are instructed to be sober minded. Getting drunk or high by whatever means does not promote sobriety.

A plant based diet is what is recommended for cancer recovery maintenance also.

Yes some pretty interesting testimonies out there about that. God's diet is good as Daniel confirmed ... plants seeds nuts are God's medicine.

I presume being vaccinated against Measles, scarlet fever, Meningitis, and other childhood diseases is to be avoided at all cost?
