Does Paul say Satan tried to hinder him. Yes or No?
Hinder him how?

By direct possession - which would be a sure-fire way...?

Nope.

It mentions groups of people, which can only demonic in nature...

It is because you take the Bible out of context that you do not believe what Paul said?

You showed one verse.

I showed the previous four verses leading up to your ONE verse.

So...who's taking it out of context..?

Get a grip...

You are the one taking it out of context saying that which the Bible says not and then saying Paul did not say that which he said.

I have already given the historical/scriptural meaning. You don't accept it,
You have not provided even so much as a link.

however, no one can actually refute your view since you have yet to give any credence and explanation of what it means that Christ bound Satan by His death.
I show scriptural exegesis.

You cannot even do this.

All you do is go round and round....chasing your tail...

Know how to use the internet?

its an historic document. Besides it's to long to post. While you are at it you can also check the current Liturgies of St John Chrysostom and St Basil.

You might be enlightened.

Defend the scripture behind your Catholic resources.

No one is interested in your parroting...

You are showing more of your ignorance. Those were NOT Catholic resources. Secondly, the Liturgies are based completely upon scripture.

The problem still exists. You have no explanation for your OP. You have still not given your explanation of it. So, how can one actually refute your interpretation when you don't have one.

So, now five opportunities have passed and you still are mired in subterfuge and irrelevant content in your posts.
Enlighten us all. Why the OP question? What does it mean in your view?

I gave you some leading questions and you have not addressed them. How come?

Or just admit you have no understanding of what it means.

Bowman: 'Can you scripturally defend your position?'

Cassian: 'No, but you have an internet link, right? Google the answer for yourself. How many times do I have to repeat this?'

I don't think talking to your self will help you.

Are you searching for your answer. Are you procrastinating in order to develop a quick answer to your own OP?
Explain your view so either I or someone else can refute it. All we have so far is thin air and getting thinner. Six times now and you have yet to produce an explanation of your view.

I tried to help you but you didn't use the help either. Did you understand the questions? If not, let me know what you don't understand and I can clarify them for you.

What scripture would you like to discuss...?

Whatever you think explains your view? Explain the meaning of Satan being bound by death. I gave you several questions that you could use to assist your thinking, but then I really don't know what you believe since you have not really explained it in any detail.

` Don't just list it, explain it. All you have done so far is made a translation of it which does not explain its meaning. Go for it. I have never disputed your translation. After all, as I stated earlier, the early Church wrote, spoke and taught in Greek. However, you have not given us a detailed explanation of just what YOU mean by Satan being bound.

Let's go over it yet again...

επει ουν τα παιδια κεκοινωνηκεν αιματος και σαρκος και αυτος παραπλησιως μετεσχεν των αυτων ινα δια του θανατου καταργηση τον το κρατος εχοντα του θανατου τουτ εστιν τον διαβολον

epei oun ta paidia kekoinōnēken haimatos kai sarkos kai autos paraplēsiōs meteschen tōn autōn hina dia tou thanatou katargēsē ton to kratos echonta tou thanatou tout' estin ton diabolon

Since, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, in like manner He Himself also shared the same things, that through death He might render entirely idle the one having the power of death, that is, the devil;

So...

How is it that you AGREE with my rendering, and yet don't understand what 'through death He might render entirely idle the one having power of death'...means...?

Are you playing with a full deck?

All,

Looking for scriptural positions regarding if Satan is presently bound...
I kid you not, there are some downright silly questions posed on this site. Does anyone just not read the bible anymore or what?
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

restating the translation does not explain what it means. You seem to be missing that important word, the preposition, through.

That passage lacks the Greek article - thus, it is unlikely to apply to Satan, himself...

Explain to us the 'importance' of the word 'through'....to the exclusion of all the other words...
