The reason God used the word "mountain" in these two scripture verses is, so no one gets confused and actually thinks the earth is a globe/spinning ball.

Matthew 4:8
Again the devil took him up into a very high mountain, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them

Luke 4:5
And the devil led him into a high mountain, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time;
Ok. So here you believe it is literal and intended to make this particular point. Appreciate your reply.

So you admit it wasn't a literal mountain. It was a vision. Yet you attempted to use this verse to support a FE.
The reason Jesus got this vision from on top of a mountain is, so no one gets confused and actually thinks the earth is a globe/spinning ball.

Lucy, this is false.
That word is firmament, and it means a solid expanse, and God again clarifies that it is the Solid Heaven in that verse. We can understand this by looking to John and Paul who mention the 3 heavens.
This means there is an Open heaven, where the birds and planes fly, the Solid Heaven, which holds the waters above, and God's throne.
That word Does Not Mean expanse or emptiness or emptiness. You need a better bible. Or at least try using BLB app.
Given that the word "firmament" is a transliteration of a Latin word which was translated from a Hebrew word, we should be cautious rather than dogmatic regarding its meaning.

Trace the etymology of the terms and their meanings. You may be surprised at what you find. ;)

.
oops! The brain buster in post No.1599 is worded wrong. Here's the
corrected version.

Airplane A takes off from Miami at 200 mph

Airplane B takes off from Miami one hour later at 300 mph

How long will it take B to catch up with A, and how far from Miami?
_
That depends entirely on the direction each travels, and for how long. If they travel in different directions, B will never catch A. If the same direction, but A lands within an hour, again, B will never catch it. :)

Do you see how that the sunlight is continuous (space and time) from-pole-to-pole at the equinox points of the cycle?

Do you see how the context of this occurrence is identical for both Spring and Autumn?

If this were the reality, the climate would be identical for Spring and Autumn. (But, it is not.)

If this were the reality, the climate would be identical for the North region in Summer and the South region in Winter. (But, it is not.)
Already addressed. You are assuming too much and ignoring even more. Your problem is therefore fallacious.

It is impossible to land a plane on a spinning ball.
I see we have another contender for the "Most Ignorant of Basic Physics" award.

Please, do your homework before posting dogmatic assertions, lest you embarrass yourself.

Wow... did it ever occur to you that, even if Jesus could have "seen" all the kingdoms of the world from one vantage point, they didn't all exist at the same time in history?

That also proves the vision Jesus got from on top of the mountain of all the kingdoms of the world is not from a globular/spinning ball perspective.

If Satan was using a vision to prove that the earth is flat- that would make the flat earth model satanic. :devilish:

It "proves" nothing of the sort. Go and learn what "proof" is.

YOUR INTERPRETATION of the verse does not prove anything. You may be convinced, but nobody else is obligated to be convinced... especially when your interpretation stands on speculation.

In those verses, Jesus is not looking upside-down to see some of the kingdoms of the world; I am right. :D

Im working on providing a basic model and explanation of my understanding of what scripture says. I hope to get it out this weekend. Hope it can clear up some misunderstandings.
Im suprised as you that there hasn't been a dialog of what it is we all actually believe. Hopefully I can help correct that.
God bless you brother.
God bless you too brother. :)

Dear Brother,
You have brought forth a most excellent point on Truth which i overlooked.

Satan could easily of taken Jesus UP into the heavens to look down on a spinning ball earth = IF there was one.

Because the earth is not a spinning water ball, all satan had to do was take him on a high mountain and show HIM the kingdoms of the world to the East, West, North and South.

Thank you for this.

At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children."
