I agree, humility may be an attitude that's reflected in our actions. When Jesus called the Pharisees hypocrites, their respond was bold, arrogant, defensive, and angry. Just the opposite of a humble person. Pride makes a person conceited. The opposite would be; "Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:29-30). If you tell a proud person; "Your not to smart" you'll get a proud rebellious response. Tell a humble person "Your not to bright" and they might respond with a "I'm not ?" or "I know".
Perhaps humility is the absence of pride.. One thing I've learned is that if you can remove all pride, and I mean All Pride, its impossible to be insulted. That's how true humility is possible. and achievable. "Humble yourselves in the sight of the LORD, and he shall lift you up" (James 4:10)
