Is watching pornography a sin?

Many people say that watching pornography is a sin. But, I don't understand what makes them think so. Bible doesn't say anything about virtuality. Reality is made by God and virtuality is made by people. Virtuality has completely different rules.



Matthew 5:27
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.



Here Jesus talks about an act “look”. In the original Greek, one of the meanings for the word Jesus uses for “look” is intentional and repeated gazing. So, if you look at a woman with lust it's a sin. But what about if you imagine or dream? It's not the same thing. Otherwise, why do people want to be married?
So, “look” and “dream” it's two diffident things. You can dream or wish about anything you want it's not going to change anything. We are people and before we make a choice we think first, we can think about good and bad it's part of our free will, but it's nothing while it's in our minds.
The reason why people think that watching pornography is a sin, is because it's new. Years ago my parents and my grand parents (and also many churches) thought that watching TV and listen to a music is a sin.But, now it's not a sin anymore.
In my opinion it's better to watch pornography than have real sex. You should think about consequences first and than about fun. But most of the people think only about fun. There are really bad consequences of sex. It's kids. I don't say that kids are bad, I say that having them is bad.
I think those people who have kids are foolish and selfish people who can't control their desires. Having kids is not a sin. However, Jesus never had them. Maybe it was a blessing to have kids before sin entered this world. But, now this world is cursed by God.
I don't want to bring sinful people into this sinful and cursed world. Why would I? This world doesn't deserve my child. I know that there are much more pain than joy in this world and I don't want my child to suffer in it. I don't want my child to grow up and say “Father, why you brought me into this sinful world? Why do I need all this problems?”

Pornography is created by a spirit of Lust, and when a person takes that in there is a spirit of Lust attatched with it. the more a person watches the mpre that spirit fills thier Heart and leads tp unclean thinking when you look at a person. it corrupts the mind and that is where the battle is won or Lost in the mind or heart. what we watch, read, hear those things go into us and what is in us comes out of us. Lust is a powerful thing, and is not from God, but is from Gods enemy always christians should guard thier eyes and ears, if the holy spirit is present then Gods presence is there. Our gosl is to live as we would live in the Presence of God because we are in His presence through the promise of the spirit.

the first step to resisting is to submit ourselves to God. You cannot walk in the holy Spirit and the flesh at the same time... Simple answer to is porno a sin. If you're not walking in the Spirit then it is a safe bet you are sinning. Even with your wife. I am sure that some Christians do sinful things with their wives. We do not always walk in the Spirit. If we did we would not need Jesus.

I believe that it is. I also believe that there are many Shows on Television today that are simply soft porn, and watching them is a sin. I do not watch much Television because of this.

When you watch porn does your heart break for the people and you lay your hands on the screen in intersection for them for their deliverance of bandage and for their salvation or are you getting off? If Y-shua was there in person with you (well He is with you just so you know) would you watch a porn with Him and "jack off" male or female (many females guilty too)?

It counts even if it's in your mind. Jesus said if you hate your brother you are already guilty of murder. And like you mentioned, Matthew 5:27, is no different. What matters most to God is the spiritual, even more than the physical.
