I am sorry this happened to you, that you and your family were subjected to ravening wolves, and that all of you are still suffering from the after effects of the violence done to you, this tragic malaise. I cannot help but think though, that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. You are like a watchman on the wall sounding the alarm of the invading enemy. Are these mega churches where you have seen this happening?

Proverbs 21:6-7The getting of treasures(money) by a lying tongue(twisting scripture for fun and profit) is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that (unknowingly) seek death.

This is saying that those that wrest the word of God to rob the sheep are wicked. I didn't say it but I agree.
Vs. 13 Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor shall cry himself.
22:16 He that oppresses the poor (by mis using the word of God) to increase his riches ....surely shall end up with nothing.
vs.22 Rob not the poor (why not? The church does.) because he is poor. Neither oppress the afflicted.
The poor are soft targets. Like the gun free zones are soft targets for killers.
The poor can be taken advantage of, kowtowed into letting go of the few dollars they have. Seen it. Been there. Lived it for years.

Love that word of God. I know I'm repeating verses for I believe it is needful.

Be free of the madness. Be blessed by God.

I cannot speak for yet here, but I can say this attrocity is not just in mega-churches. The last Church I was a member of kicked my wife and I out over this same thing Yet speaks of. That church had only 54 members.
Prior to that, I was a visitor of a church of 47 members. They were strict adherents of the unScriptural monetary tithe requirement doctrine. Matter of fact, every Church I have been either a member of, or visited preached the man-made fable called the monetary tithe requirement doctrine.

Any church that uses Malachi 3:8-10 to tell its members that God requires them to "tithe or be cursed" is essentially forcing members to tithe. Any church that uses that same passage to guilt its members into putting 10% of their money in the collection plate is forcing its members to do so.
They don't give that money voluntarily. They are forced to part with it through fear and/or guilt tactics.

This is not a complete list, but I have been a member of eight churches in this list, and a visitor in the rest. All of the churches in the list use Malachi 3:8-10 to manipulate their members giving.

I've been in many 'dens' and they all require the tithe to be a member. No matter how poor you are....cough it up or leave.
Like Standing firm said, they guilt you to death to scrape it out of you, your kid's lunch money be d....! I remember many times looking in the car seats for change and walking looking for change on the road so my kids could eat. This after paying my tithes at church the day before.
Walking 7 miles to work one time ....no gas...but I paid my tithes hallelujah. My wife and kids walked to my job so they could walk home with me at midnight.

We try to maintain a consistent contribution that the finance gal can anticipate to work with in meeting bills and planning for future expenses. And then, we often just take care of things as we see them..... go buy things, or pay for services needed. For instance, the urinal in Kid's City is defective. Today, I will buy repair parts, and tomorrow I will install them. About $30 and a few hours of my time. Big deal. But we will not reduce our weekly contribution by that $30.... nor will we subtract any of the other little expenses that come up every month that we cover. Most of the people in our church do the same thing if they can.
I, frankly, feel that is a reflection of the example we are given in Acts where they were all hanging out, and covering expenses.

Whoa there. It's not out of context. The Malachi 'will a man rob God' verse is totally out of context.....all day long. Read who that was written to 'now unto you priests'. Gotcha! In Israel to boot. Do a study on it. 'should the Church teach Tithing?' Russel Kelly.

so u think we should all boycott the churches that practice tithing? Start a big protest and picket with signs? Or do we just walk away and leave them to their own wicked traditions?
