Bread Crumbs “God is Not Confused!” November 8

There is never a time in which God finds Himself confronted with a situation that He did not see coming. There is never a time when God is confused. There is never a time when things are not totally under the control of God's Almighty hand. He knows our weaknesses, our idiosyncrasies, our infirmities, our evil tendencies, and every single one of our enemies. He is not overwhelmed! He is not fearful! To be blunt, God has no opponent or adversary that can stand before Him. He is the God of Gods alone and He stands all by Himself. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. Therefore, based on all these facts the believer should know that God has already seen the pathway out of their dilemma, their current confusion, or their hurtful circumstance. He knows the way of safety, the way through every maze of life. We must not doubt that He is always in control and ready to proceed with His plan. We must lay aside all of our own efforts and trust exclusively in Him. God is not confused even though you and I might be. Follow Him! Then your way will be made plain and your success and victory will be guaranteed.

2 Chronicles 6:14 - And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and showest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 2:2
For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;

The Lord here continues to differentiate between angels and His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. Angels spoke to men, and were even participants in the giving of the Law to Moses (Galatians 3:19), and the rejection of those words under the Old Covenant brought a just recompense of reward. The greater rewards will be under the New Covenant, because God, through Christ, The Son of God has spoken to us (Hebrews 1:1), through His sacrifice (Hebrews 12:24). The greater (Jesus Christ) brings greater rewards, whether it is rewards for accepting and following Him, or rebelling against Him.

God is just as faithful to bless those who accept Him by believing upon His Son Jesus Christ as He is to curse those who refuse to! God welcomes all into heaven if they are in the victory march of His Son through faith in the Cross, for it takes daily faith in His work at Calvary to follow Him (Luke 9:23), and the finish line is Eternal Life! The angels can’t offer Life, as only the One who gave His Life for all can offer THAT Life, for He is our Life!

LET’S TALK ABOUT RIGHTEOUSNESS (Nov 8, 2020)

The Ministry of the New Covenant is the Ministry of RIGHTEOUSNESS

The Ministry of the Spirit of God is the Ministry of RIGHTEOUSNESS

2 Corinthians 3:6-9
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

8 How shall not the MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT be rather glorious?

9 For if the Ministry of condemnation be glory, much more doth the MINISTRY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS exceed in glory.

Can you describe to yourself right now WHAT the Ministry of RIGHTEOUSNESS is, and HOW it functions in your life daily?

Bread Crumbs “When the Facts Meet the Truth” November 9

In the believer’s life there are many facts that seem to be prevalent and dominating about our lives. Facts should not be denied or ignored. In our lives, sin is what it is! Sickness is what it is! The fact might be that your marriage is close to being over. The fact might be that your children are not living for God. The fact might be that you do not have enough money to pay the incoming bills. Facts are facts! But the Bible states that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Because of His sacrifice on Calvary, Jesus Christ is now able to distribute benefits and to exhibit power on behalf of those who have believed on Him. Every blessing that God bestows upon His people flows through the door opened by Christ's finished work on the cross. Therefore, we do not need to try to change the facts of our life in our own strength or in our own ability. By faith, we simply present our needs to the Lord. In other words, we are to introduce the facts to the truth. Jesus never changes. Truth never changes. But when the facts meet the Truth, the Truth can change the facts!

Psalm 16:8 - I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 2:3
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

How shall we escape refers to escaping God’s wrath and all that Christ died for a Redeemed people to inherit. The great Salvation which God offers us in Christ Jesus can surely be neglected and forfeited, even though many would say it is impossible. Israel never knew or believed they could be cut off, and I fear the Church has fallen into that great deception as well (Romans 11:17-21, Revelation 3:5).

Jesus offers all of humanity (Hebrews 2:9) an Eternal Covenant through His Sacrificial work at the Cross, but it is conditional and always based on the reception of God’s Grace through faith (Ephesians 2:5-8). To whom much is given, much is required (Luke 12:48), and we have been offered everything pertaining to Life and Godliness and all of its benefits by Grace through faith! Let us be found today clinging to that faith we have obtained through what Christ did for us on the Cross, and our simple trust in that and that alone!

Bread Crumbs “The Purpose of the Church” November 10

In today's church world, the key purpose for the existence of the Church seems to have been lost. Jesus clearly gave the marching orders to the Church before ascending to His Father in heaven. He said that we were to go into all the world and preach the gospel! He declared that we were to make disciples of the men of all nations! The primary function of any church should be to reach into the society in which it resides and through the proclamation of the gospel message, bring people into relationship with Jesus Christ. While it is certainly correct and right to do good things for our community, nothing should be a higher priority than evangelism. The proclamation of the Word that takes place both inside and outside of the walls of any church should be our primary concern. It is primarily by the preached Word that men are saved, and Christians are built up in Christ. Sadly, many churches have dropped the great commission and have embraced other activities that make them more acceptable to the lost of society. For some this has become the primary purpose, instead of trying to bring the lost into relationship with Christ. Let us not make the great commission the great omission! Preach the gospel!

Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 2:4
God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Those who walked with The Lord Jesus Christ in His earthly ministry experienced signs and wonders that took place with divers miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit according to God’s will. I think one of the things we should see in this Scripture is that through the ages, God has given the increase of the knowledge of His Son who would come to the earth and give His Life for the sins of humanity. The more God has revealed, the more God requires (Luke 12:48), and those requirements are seen by those who are in relationship with Him as golden opportunities to serve Him! For many many years we have thought that Grace under the New Covenant gave us less responsibility, but surely quite the opposite is true.

The more God gives, the more He expects to see the fruit of what He has given us, and He is grieved when He does not. I pray that in the days ahead we as God’s people will be found coming back to Faith and Grace which is the exclusive faith in what Christ did by Grace on the Cross (Hebrews 2:9). Don’t let God’s presence in your life Child of God be mistaken for His approval, as only Scripture will lead you there, as He has told us to Study His Word of Truth to SHOW ourselves approved unto Him (2 Timothy 2:15). He will never leave or forsake us, so let us say it again, His presence is not His approval. We find THAT only as we look to and through faith in the greatest performance of God ever seen among men, which was the Cross of Jesus Christ!

LET’S TALK ABOUT RIGHTEOUSNESS (Nov 10, 2020)

RIGHTEOUSNESS is imputed into our lives through faith in the Cross alone, whether for the status of BEING RIGHTEOUS, or bearing forth the fruits of RIGHTEOUSNESS

Galatians 2:21
I do not frustrate (Deny; put aside) the grace of God (What God does through faith in the Cross alone): for if RIGHTEOUSNESS come by the law (What I do), then Christ is dead in vain (The Cross).

Psalm 71:16
I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, even of thine only.
When the Cross of Christ is the focal point when God’s Word is being declared, The Truth is being preached and His RIGHTEOUSNESS is being shown forth.

Proverbs 12:17
He that speaketh truth sheweth forth RIGHTEOUSNESS: but a false witness deceit.

Bread Crumbs “The Christian Example” November 11

The life of a believer should stand out in this world as an example of holiness and righteousness. We must never embrace a “holier than thou” attitude toward those that are around us. However, the fact is we as Christians are different. We are to be a peculiar people, dedicated to the things of God. This should be obvious to all those who come in contact with us. Just declaring that we are Christians is not the same thing as living out exemplary Christian behavior. Anyone can call themselves a Christian. It takes the work of the grace of God, available because of the Cross of Christ, to transform the believer into the person that the world needs to see. The Apostle Paul dedicated himself to the knowledge of how to live for God and to the lifelong pursuit of putting that knowledge into practice. He then asked his fellow believers to become imitators of his lifestyle. The life that Paul lived was the result of God's grace working in his heart. This was evidenced through his attitudes and actions. True Bible Christianity will produce an example to others that is worthy of following. What is your life saying?

Philippians 3:17 - Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

WHY IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD WITHOUT FAITH

The very reason it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God without faith is because without faith He cannot see His RIGHTEOUSNESS among men

Trusting in the RIGHTEOUS work of Christ at Calvary in the heart (Romans 10:10) offers to man the measure of faith through which He can please God, for there alone is man declared RIGHTEOUS, and there alone does God give us that which pleases Him as a gift, which is THE MEASURE OF FAITH.

2 Peter 1:1
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that HAVE OBTAINED LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH with us THROUGH THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD AND OUR SAVIOR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST:

Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as GOD HAS DEALT TO EVERY MAN THE MEASURE OF FAITH.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 2:5
For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

The writer of Hebrews continues to reveal the vast contrast between the angels and God’s Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. The world was not created to be subject to the angels, but Jesus Christ who is the Creator, Savior and Judge of the world. God, by Jesus Christ created EVERYTHING that was created (John 1:1-3) including angels, and is at this very moment, upholding all things by the Word of His power (Hebrews 1:3).

Because of Christ’s humility and obedience to come and to die for the sins of humanity (John 10:18), He is exalted high above all things and is seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High (Hebrews 1:3). Jesus was made so much better than the angels, and by inheritance through His work at the Cross He has obtained a more excellent name than all the angels (Hebrews 1:4). Look today unto Jesus who loves you and gave Himself for you so that you can be forgiven and free from the chains of sin and its darkness. Only believe!

LET’S TALK ABOUT RIGHTEOUSNESS (Nov 12, 2020)

The Lord ONLY accounts RIGHTEOUSNESS to men for their faith

Genesis 15:6
And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

The reason it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6) is because without faith He cannot make us who we are called to be or give to us those things which we need the most, which always glorify Him!

Initial Salvation, being the Born again experience through faith in Christ’s work on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, God declares “us as RIGHTEOUS” (2 Corinthians 5:21), and servants of His RIGHTEOUSNESS (Romans 6:17-18).

If our fruits are not RIGHTEOUS, our faith is not biblical

We hear the words of each other and can be very deceived by them, but God hears each word spoken in the context of what the heart is trusting in

This is why our faith must never be removed from the work of Christ at Calvary

For it is there alone that will produce words in the right context, the words of God’s Righteousness (Rom 10:10)

Bread Crumbs “A Great Opportunity” November 12

A time of great personal adversity is never enjoyable, but it does provide the believer with the greatest opportunity for personal growth. Such times are a valid part of the Christian experience. God chastens those whom He loves. As has often been stated, “God loves us too much to allow us to remain the same.” I wish it was true that the believer could always be transformed through the simple study and application of God's Word. But there are some negative issues so deeply embedded within the heart that it requires a special operation. One that is accomplished by God himself, in order to remove that which is hurtful to us. God is a faithful husbandman. He knows the branches that exist on His vine. He recognizes those things in us that may be hurtful or unnecessary. He sets out to remove them in order to reshape us into the image of Christ. These “cutting” and “trimming” procedures can be quite painful. But when they are accomplished and we stand free of the removed disabilities, we will plainly see why God took away what He did. It is all done for our good and His glory. Be encouraged! He removes the dross to bring forth the gold.

Job 23:10 - But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
